This is VMB so obviously the answer is yes you should go. But I agree; the real question is what is the alternative. The only reason I wont be there is Atlantis allowed me to book the 'free' CR trip on Christmas, so I'll be playing with the sea lions on Christmas day. Even though that's an expensive free trip, the low airfare cost from east coast (well Florida at least) compared to Vegas airfare will more than offset the costs for me.

Another option would be South Florida (SE) for Christmas. The three county area of Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade are full of East Coasters. Hard Rock is a very nice, albeit expensive casino. Gulfstream Park is one the the best horse tracks in America, and that would be a different gambling experience. They start racing again 11/29. Jai alai is another unique gambling experience. And the weather beats Las Vegas by quite a lot.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing there are multiple, regular flights down, and probably cheap.

As far as entertainment, there would be a wealth of outdoor things.

In coming, in coming, just been busy.

    Atlanta for Christmas stuff.

Nice, any suggestion on a specific tower I should ask for?

I go to Vegas most years for Christmas. Starting with the premise that you want to go "away" for Christmas, I prefer Vegas because (most) things are operating business as usual on the 24th/25th. That is the biggest pro for me (again, compared to going to any other city that week).

As others have noted, the buffet aspect is a con IMO. Most places do the special "holiday" buffet, with increased pricing and (for a reason that baffles me) long lines of people wanting such a thing. And CET/MGM tend to extend this lovely pricing to "holiday week." With the 25th on a Wednesday this year, I expect them to have holiday pricing from around the 21st through the 28th.

And while I did note the "everything's open" aspect, there are pockets of closure here and there. The corporate places on the Strip and DT are almost all open, but some of the independent places still close for the holiday. I'm a DT guy, so my examples are there. Places like Pizza Rock, Nacho Daddy, Banger Brewing, and Container Park are closed on the 24th/25th.

I kind of have to respect that, like retail stores that won't put their employees through the upcoming black friday all night hell.
I'll be happy to support them more for letting their employees do family things.

More people (both locals and visitors) don't wanna prepare a huge holiday dinner and find it easier to either go away for the holidays or go to the local casino and let them do the preparation and clean-up.

And, if the casino has Thanksgiving left-overs, they can certainly recycle them. :) (Actual sign posted at Sams Town a few years back.)

It's been scientifically proven that whenever one asks the question: shall I go to Vegas or not? 100% of the time the correct answer is: Yes.

If you go don't forget to let Santa know so he can drop your presents off in Vegas as opposed to your home. Assuming you've been a good boy. :santa:

    Vegas in December is cool.

Vegas on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day is not cool. Spend it with family. Don’t be anywhere near a casino.

When you flying out? I don't mind ditching the family for Vegas. I'll be seeing them on Turkey Day. Also, I'm checking flights to Vegas and they're freakin' expensive wtf

Do what your heart and gut tell you to do. Terri and I'd find Christmas in Vegas depressing. Doesn't make one viewpoint wrong/right relative to the other.

I never saw any buffets close Christmas week. Caesars has always
been busy - the last few years at least that I have seen. I love Vegas at Christmas - I think it
is a great time to go! 25th - 30th to me is a perfect time to go as I have done for the last several years.
When you no longer have family to spend time with - it is a great place to be. But then - I guess I would
say that about any time of the year - so you can't judge by what I say LOL.

If you are not feeling it don't go. From what I have seen on your posts you are a Vegas pool person. Save the bankroll and go when the weather is more suitable to your likes.
