Atlantic City October 2019 gaming revenue

Table and slot win was slightly up (0.8 pct) from October 2018. Ocean continued to establish its presence, up 40.8 pct. Harrah's, Borgata, Caesars, and Hard Rock had single-digit percentage gains while the rest were losers. Internet gaming up 69 pct. NJ sports betting revenue at $46.3 million (up nearly 300 pct over Oct 2018), with North Jersey accounting for 60 pct of that and Resorts Digital accounting for nearly 60 pct of the AC sports betting revenue.

 

The increased comps at Ocean seem to be working, but next week the quarterly numbers are released showing profit and loss. It will be interesting to see how the comps are affecting the bottom line.

A couple of things that caught my eye, Tropicana and Resorts casino “win” were both down around 12% in October compared to last year. But year to date, including internet gaming and sports betting, the total AC gaming revenue is up 15.6%. Here is a link to a monthly report.

Competition from New York, Pennsylvania casinos also contribute to the problem. Why travel 3 hours each way in a car when Resorts World Catskills, Foxwoods, now MGM Springfield and their purchase of MGM Yonkers once they convert it to full casino, there is less reasons to drive 3 hours each way.

 

Don’t forget casinos in Delaware and Maryland.

These are all locals casinos but if that trips your trigger, go for it. AC affords the flexibility of hopping between properties, better variety of restaurants and bars, plus the beach in the summer.
