Hi Everyone. I know regular restaurants you always make reservations but what about for Buffets. I want to avoid long wait times and even use rental car to go off strip. Any suggestions other then the usual of getting in right before dinner food is placed out. I'm a regular Mlife and CET member, so I don't have premium access but is there any upgrade passes to beat the line or any suggestions would be welcome.

Other than these options you're pretty much SOL.

    DINE #LIKEACAESAR RESERVATION PACKAGE
An all-new experience is now available at Bacchanal, make a reservation and skip the wait #LikeACaesar. Voted “Best Buffet” 5 years in a row, the Bacchanal Fever has caught on.

For a limited time, Bacchanal Buffet is offering a VIP Reservation package complete with:

    • A dedicated reservation time
    • Full access to the Buffet
    • All-You-Care-To-Drink package and a VIP Seafood Tower
All for only $98 per person.

AFAIK, at the Wynn, you have to pair it with a show, or earn it at the tables. . . .

At the Wicked Spoon, you can buy a Line pass.
    LINE PASS
    • Mon – Thurs | $10
    • Fri – Sun | $15
    • Holidays | $15
I've only included those buffets because those are the only buffets that I consider worth waiting in line for.

If there were an easy way of avoiding very long waits for buffets, other than being able to use the VIP line with a premium card, paying for a line pass, or going very early or late, then everyone would be doing it which would defeat the method!

Other than what @DaiLun mentioned, you can also buy a line pass at Bacchanal without doing the full dine like a caesar package, and Paris Le Village buffet takes reservations at all times like a regular restaurant and can be booked on OpenTable, but their buffet at lunch/dinner isnt great compared to some of the others. A lot of the food is good but the selection isnt huge. Depends what you're looking for. Their breakfast buffet is very good though because they have the staples everyone else has, plus some french pastry / crepe type stuff.

Get a Player's Card. Do some playing. Get card upgraded. Go to the short line.

Pearl which is the first mlife upgrade gets you in the short line. You can also get pearl automatically by having an mlife credit card or if you’re in the military or a veteran.

Good point. Caesar's also has platinum upgrade for credit card holders and all veterans, but how much line skipping platinum gets you depends on how crowded Vegas is at the time and which specific buffet. Bacchanal always has a platinum line but it's only for the cashier and they put you in seating queues with everyone else whereas diamond and 7 star get a priority seating without waiting. Places like Rio on the other hand, platinum gets almost as much line benefit as diamond most of the time. Other properties sometimes add or remove platinum access to the diamond and up lines depending on how many people are coming through them.

There's some different Groupons for Bacchanal that all include 'VIP Express Line Pass'. Breakfast or early bird dinner. Different restrictions on days. Some include unlimited drinks. 40 - 50% off retail.

VIP Express Line Pass includes preferred service at entry allowing you to bypass the regular line..

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I will do the Wicked Spoon and Caesars Buffet with 2-3 Steakhouses on my week visit in a couple of months.

The best tip is when you see a line, go eat someplace else. its not worth your valuable time.

At Boyd properties, you have to be Emerald or higher to get into the VIP line. Even us Sapphire members get stuck in the regular line, but I just go early and it's usually just a short wait. I had a free dinner buffet at Aria on my last trip and luckily, I'm Pearl so I only had 2 people ahead of me in the VIP line while the regular line was looooooong. Although if there is a long line at any buffet and if I don't have VIP access, I usually dine somewhere else. I hate waiting in lines! LOL

These combined give the best advice.
I eat buffets in Vegas for every meal.
But I never go to a buffet if I don't have an upgraded card to cut the line.
(my other rule is: never eat buffet in a casino if it's not comped.)

Go early or during off peak hours is what I do. Off peak hours can’t really be defined in Vegas so I usually do early morning/brunch buffets which offer lunch foods at 8 or 9am. Rarely ever any lineups then.

Had free buffet passes for Wynn this weekend. We’re going to use them around noon on Saturday. Also had line passes.
Regular line was quoted at a 90 minute wait.
The “line pass” line was 30 minutes.
Sorry, not waiting that long for a buffet.
We got our free buffet passs moved to the Terrace Cafe instead. We had $80 in food credit with these passes. This was for 2 of us. So I ordered an omelette and a burger. Just like a buffet! Wife got pancakes.

Any examples of Buffet lines at different casino, breakfast, lunch, dinner? For example, off peak midweek at MGM - 20 minutes. What the general consensus of waiting at the buffets?
