From your previous comments it's apparent you are not exactly her biggest fan, but you can't put this solely on her shoulders. - this has been happening for DECADES across the entire entertainment industry. The Oscars are infamous for being a platform for political diatribes. So this applies to basically everyone across every aspect of the entertainment world.

However, when someone has a platform - and anyone with celebrity, whether it be entertainment, sports etc has a platform - they are going to use it and speak their mind while they are at it. There isn't anything anyone can really do about it except tune it out if you don't like it.

You can’t put it in her shoulders? It’s Madonna in concert. If I paid to see Madonna, I want to hear the hits and interact with the crowd as a musician. Hey Vegas. What’s up Vegas. let’s rock Vegas. Stuff like that. I don’t go see athletes talk and I sure as hell don’t want James Taylor or Madonna doing anything other than what they’re famous for.

No you cannot put it on her shoulders. They ALL do it. As for sticking to "doing what they're famous for", stirring up controversy, whether politically, religiously or sexually is exactly what Madonna is famous for - she has done it since the beginning of her career. You apparently didn't read my earlier post. I have seen the show. It is NOT supposed to be "Madonna in concert"!! It is more of a theatrical stage show, and it was always billed as exactly what it is. That is like you going to see Cirque du Solei's LOVE and walking out in a huff because you were expecting to see a Beatles tribute act. She does perform a couple of her hits, but the show is heavy on the tracks from her current album. That is what she is promoting - this is not a "Greatest Hits Tour". And she interacts with the audience in this show much more than she has ever done before.

Frankly, if someone were more than just a passing fan of Madonna they would know exactly what to expect from one of her shows, the same as if they were more than just a passing fan of James Taylor. Details of the show have been widely discussed on her fan club website, social media websites and all over the internet since tickets went on sale last Spring. But again, this was never supposed to be a true concert in the sense that one thinks of a concert anyway. Gaggles was not informed of what kind of show it was before he went in and did not get what he was expecting.

Sounds awful for a Vegas show.

My two cents for what it's worth-the majority of people in Vegas that go to these residency shows are there for the hits. The fact that it seems necessary to go into loooong explanations about why this wasn't that kind of show speaks for itself. The show sounds out of tune for a Vegas audience. Unless you are a Madonna uber fan this show sounds like it would be a disappointment.

It's not a Vegas show. She did like three performances in Vegas out of the whole tour.

This is not a "Vegas residency". She did a few shows in Vegas and is staying in other cities for longer periods as mini residencies, but again, this is not a concert. Believe me, Madonna uber fans were there - there are people who literally follow her all over on her tours, going from city to city, show to show (and then cross overseas to see her abroad), because they are so fanatical!!!

I've been to dozens of concerts throughout the years. Mega stars, famous or semi-famous acts. Arenas, mid sized and small venues. Rock, metal, jazz, blues, classical. In all instances the musicians stuck to music and attendees enjoyed the show.

Garth Brooks' Wynn show featured discussions between songs. Fans enjoyed these shows because he discussed the songs and their inspiration. Madonna should have some respect for her audience and, I don't know, show up to the arena at some point before the show, get on stage and actually play music people know and like, and leave her political rants for The View or some other platform.

I hear you, but she was performing in Vegas at one of the casinos. So it WAS a Vegas show. That's just not the kind of show MOST people are looking for in Vegas (at a casino vs. a more local venue like Thomas and Mack) even if it works well in other places.

Couldn't agree more. Semantics on my part for misuse of residency. The point is this is not the type of show, concert or whatever you want to label it that is going to please most Vegas people that are there unless you are an uber fan. Good point about the Garth Brooks shows as well. He was relatable to the audience. Madonna's popularity is long past with many that enjoyed her old music. Vegas just doesn't seem to be a good place for her type of entertainment/theatrics or whatever you want to call it.

Hello everyone! As always, it was a really really good time. I'm gonna look through the phone to see if I missed anything. I did set the record for earliest night in Vegas in my LIFE for a Saturday. JR and I were in room before 12. It might have even been 10:45. She was trashed and required an escort to the room. JR doesn't get like that ever so I stayed in the room despite the crazy fun time the strip was providing that night. Oh well. I did wake up very rested on the Sunday. Let me get back to you guys with some final thoughts or pictures. I will say that the trip dynamics are very different when you can't go to the pool. I would also like to add that I had an absolute blast at the Linq watching the football games from a bar top. Great place to enjoy a game.

We always seemed to miss Garth by a week in Vegas. M eventually watched the CBS's telecast of Garth's Wynn show after the run ended. A good part of that show was singing those songs that inspired him as well. She says to me, "I am glad we missed that show! I would have been so pissed if I paid money to listen to him sing other people's songs!" She's enjoyed his more traditional concerts. She's went to see him three times now (St. Louis, Notre Dame, Minneapolis).

I agree, the pool takes me away from the gambling itch for about 4-5 hours a day when open. Without it, I feel bored and then say why not gamble some more, which can work both ways for you. Also in the cooler weather, I am not walking the strip as much, so definitely a different ball game when its cooler in vegas and no pool!!

I managed to scam a seat at a single play at kickoff and moved to a triple play within 30 minutes. No room anywhere else except bar tops though. Every seat was reserved.

Okay so I did an approximate count here. I may have missed a few and I didn't include 5OAK on DWBP or any hits that weren't quads but paid like quads on ULT X. But there would have easily been $500-$750 for those.

In my apparent game of choice this weekend, DWBP seems to have the most play but the biggest hits were DDBP and SDDBP.

    DWBP .25
    Quad 2's: 4
    DW Royals: 7
    5 Aces: 1

    Bonus Poker .25
    Quads: 13
    Aces: 4

    Bonus Poker .50
    Quads: 5

    JOB $
1 Quad (Why was I playing JOB??? Oh ya, lousy Paris Bar tops for Bonus Poker)

    SDDBP .25
    Quad with kicker: 4

    DDBP .50
    Quads: 5

    DDBP $1
    Quads: 1

    DDBP .25

    Quads: 25

So overall not bad but once again, that is now more than 12 days of gambling in Vegas without Quad Aces with a kicker or a Royal. I am used to getting those multiple times a trip so this is starting to suck rocks.
