Niners lose a heartbreaker thanks to a miss by the backup kicker.

Turns out missing a center , our top two receivers, a kicker, two linebackers and a corner was just enough for Seattle to eek one out

I basically ate and drank the same i would have in 4, especially since i could go back at halftime. But a bit more opportunity to pace myself would have been nice and my back could have done without the extra hour standing in place. I was fairly peeved but once i got in i had fun.

Forgot to mention that since the tailgate security scan failed on my e ticket, it would no longer bring up a barcode, so after my wait had to have a security helper walk me back to the guy who scanned my ticket before i could get in.

Almost back to sf station. Considering uber over muni for speed , warmth and avoiding confusion. May not cost much more

That and 2 fumbles by Garoppolo, one of which was returned for a touchdown. The new kicker actually was pretty good. The 49ers had Seattle flustered early, but let them hang around until Wilson took over. And Seattle lost their top receiver Lockett as well. As you can tell, I had the Seahawks last night.:haha: Hey, you can't win them all. 8-1 is pretty damn good.

Stroll back down to the ferry building this morning for brunch. First a smoked salmon bagel from the Golden Gate Meat Co

Then a carne empanada from El Porteno. First time trying one. Interesting, but i don’t see it becoming a go to for me

Going to mosey back to the hotel. Have a 1pm checkout and then i will probably head to union square before going to the airport for my flight. Don’t worry, at some point Vegas will happen

I was rolling up the fumbles under the injured center portion, as the td especially was the backup C getting beaten shortly after coming in.

Unpacking final thoughts from the game.

It was easily the best atmosphere for a inner game I've attended. The crowd was loud and into it. The Seahawks fans in attendance were their usual annoying selves, but aside from trying to start chants on the escalators easily ignored, and I really saw no incidents of verbal abuse from either side during or after a tense, high stakes game.

This morning the feeling is the luxury of having started 8-0. The loss still hurts, but we had a cushion in the standings, we showed we can get to Wilson, and the biggest concern right now is getting guys back healthy for the stretch run.

Also I don't want to seem like I am not giving Wilson his due. We were on him all game, and he kept getting up and coming back and won the game on a scramble on the last drive. So good game , but we'll see him again.

It's nice to see that kinda crowd out for the Niners again. It came across great on TV, but nothing like being there... glad you were! Clowney played out of his mind last night and totally punked Staley. I know Staley just got back from injury, but damnnnnnnnn… Jimmy G was rattled on most of his drop backs.

I LOVE being in a big city when their team plays, but I've gotten so I prefer to find a dive bar downtown... Tenderloin works in SF... and sitting with the locals to watch on TV. Chicago is another city I love doing that in.

Hanging out in union square. Not feeling great today and not too inspired for wandering so i might head to the airport a little earlier than planned.

I don't know how the new stadium is, but I saw the NY Giants play the Niners at the old Candlestick Park in 2012, the year the Giants won the Super Bowl, and honestly, the SF fans were actually friendly, and I wore my Giants jersey. That was a great atmosphere at the old park. I love the old school stadiums.

The 49ers live off their running game. If the running game works, Garoppolo can do damage off the play action, otherwise the offense will not be effective. And he needs to hold on to the ball. 7 fumbles already by Jimmy this season in 9 games. And in all honesty, the schedule has been very favorable for them, with maybe only 1 game so far this season against a true quality opponent before last night. That was the Rams, and they are not the same Rams team as last year. The 3 weeks after the Arizona game will say a lot about the Niners, with games against Green Bay, Baltimore and the Saints. We will see how good they really are.

Jimmy has his weaknesses, and the offense itself runs best when making plays off play action, but the thing Jimmy does not get enough credit for is his play on 3rd down. A big part of the success of the runs this year and a big help to the D has been Jimmy constantly moving the chains even after a rough first 2 downs. He also gets the ball out pretty fast, which helped hide our backup OL the last few weeks.

The downside of Jimmy is those quick aggressive plays lead to more turnovers than you would like, and the biggest concern is downfield throwing. We need to be able to hit guys deep so they cant crowd the run, but he fairly persistently underthrows those routes, including his last attempt last night.

All that being said, Samuel and Bourne have been maddeningly inconsistent, and Pettis a surprising liability. There is a reason we went out and got Sanders. Without him AND Kittle it will be tough to move the ball.

Jimmy still has his issues but i think with Taylor, Sanders and Kittle all out there, youd see a lot more room for us to run. But it sounds like Taylor wont be back, and who knows on Sanders.

About to take the BART back to SFO, fairly early all things considered.

Wrapping up my stay at the Palace, I was overall quite impressed. Not uber luxury, but a lot of old school luxury vibe to the decor, and truly wonderful friendly service. And the Garden Court food was great in a great setting though fabulously overpriced.

I would definitely stay here again, especially on points, where it is a relative bargain compared to both lower and higher end. Location was great too, right at Montgomery BART station and shortish walk to Embarcadero AND Union Square.
