I love how casually this is just thrown in. Glad it happened on $.50 and not $.25. Congrats!

Digging the report. My wife and I enjoy playing at the same places as you, nice reminiscing with the report. Quick question, when calculating EV at Vue do you rough estimate or use a website/app? Just curious to your methods.

    Best of luck, sir!

Thank you. I do the same thing when I'm home. I'm a dinosaur and didn't even have my own phone for a decade. A place I contracted for eventually loaned my a flip phone. I have my own phone now, but it is even less smart than I am. I wrote down some Dancer #'s, guestimate, and periodically recalculate. Pretty old school and imprecise.

Why I didn't black out yesterday, there are about 4 1/2 of the last hours that I sat in Chicago Brewing that were missing from my notebook. I'm assuming that I was a tad obnoxious because …. well I'm me. But I couldn't have been too bad because people still talked to me today. I remember a member (I'll let him tell his own story) getting dealt a premium quad and patiently waiting for the progressives to rise before hitting draw. I also remember how I couldn't recall the name of what I had been drinking and a bar mate suggested that anyone too drunk to order their drink by name, shouldn't order another. He probably had a point.

    11/10 Sunday: Last day at 4 Q's

I neglected to record a lot of things last night. I counted my money and discovered that I was up $2,227.50. That was a pleasant realization. I still had $300 FP to use today. I was unsure about my point balance. I was shooting for 8,000. When I got downstairs a 11am, I discovered that I only had 4,400 so far. Whatever I did last night didn't include much gambling. I did the math and realized that I couldn't come close to 8,000. Perhaps I would play some dollars later to hit 6,500. It's not a biggie, but I'm leaving easy money on the table.

I decided to play .50c JOB while there was a seat available. I was dealt 4 K's at 11:15. It was a nice start, but I lost my $100 at 11:26 with 86 pt's, and used my first $100 FP. Is it going to be one of those days? At 11:28, I draw a 5th heart to fill my inside SF. I love getting SF's in JOB! A couple minutes later a saw 3's hurtling past. Sure enough I had hit a quad. I also got 8's at 11:43, 5's at noon, K's at 12:24,J's at 12:29, and Q's at 1:05. This was going better than expected. I had won back my $100, and my FP was still intact after earning 600 points. I was already fried. I find those machines uncomfortable to play for extended periods. I quit at 1:25 and took a walk to my next destination, DTG, to make sure they didn't mess up their pay tables.

I'm hungry and go to Chicago Brewing. Between Sunday games, the promotion, and the holiday week end, there are no seats at the bar. I won't take the time out to eat where I can't play, so head back downstairs.

I restarted JOB at 2pm using my 2nd $100 FP and hit 2's right away. I figured that I would play dollars for a while. If my credits dropped back to $100, I would switch back. Playing dollars, I hit J's at 2:15. At 2:23, I was dealt a 4 card 9-K inside club SF. I drew the queen for $250. I loved this SF even more. I was waiting to see if anyone would tell me that I shouldn't have held the nine. A slot attendant asked me if anyone had come by. She thought it was a RF. I wish.

I continue. I don't feel nearly as fatigued playing dollars. Every credit is a dollar! It's cool. I draw 9's at 2:38 and K's at 2:41. My FP had grown to $685. The machine cooled until I hit 6's at 3:27. I already had another 1,00 points at 4:04pm. If my stamina and credits hold out, I might reach 8,000 after all. I hit 8's at 4:34, but was back down to my $100 FP at 5pm. I switched back to .50c as planned. It slowed the bleeding and I continued to play.

"Voom" That's a sound. Not a loud sound, but easily audible. I love the sound. My machine made it after I had held the King and Queen of Diamonds and hit draw. I knew that I had hit another Royal by the sound. Another surprise and another $2,000. I also had over 1,500 more points. The guy playing next to me left. I don't know if he was tired or thought all that row's luck had been used up. I played on. I got 2's at 5:34. At 5:50 I finally lost the $100 FP, that I'd been playing on for 3 1/2 hours and had an additional 100 pts. I quit and put my RF money in the room safe.

At 6:11pm, I had found a seat at Chicago Brewing and had already started playing .50c 10/6 DDB. I lost a $100 at 6:29 and then lost my last $100 FP. I was drinking my IPA, but my pizza hadn't even arrived yet. I noticed that the couple to my right were getting great service while watching the game and periodically playing single quarter VP. I'm not sure whether their wine bottle was comped, but not only would their play not cover the wine, it wouldn't cover the BT's time refilling their glasses. A couple of VMB members came in and would have loved those seats, but had to play elsewhere.

I hit 5's at 6:37, 7's at 6:52 and still lost another $100 at 7:52. I decided to play dollars. Don't bother asking why. I lost another $100 In 8 minutes. It was breathtaking, but I put another $100 in. I always wondered how crazy playing DDB for dollars must be. I'm going to try to describe it too you as I make sense of it myself. At 8:02, I hit 8's and had $275. At 8:04, I drew the 4th 3 and had $540. At 8:18, I was dealt 5's and had $740. I had $840 when I drew 6's at 4:32. I was down to $575 after getting 8's at 9:25, but bounced back to $700 at 9:40 after drawing Q's. Drawing 10's at 9:51 left me with $690 and K's at 10:40 with $400. The promotion was almost over. I cashed out for $355 at 11pm and headed for the player's desk.

Most of the participants finished early this year. There wasn't a line. I got $500 of FP and a set of 4, very heavy bowls for getting 200 points. It remains to be seen if the bowls will make it back to Alaska.

I had to decide how to play my FP. My beloved .25c 10/7 DB are no more. They are what led me into my love affair with 4Q's and my more serious VP play. The dollar machines are still there, but I didn't think that $500 was a good play on dollars. I didn't want to look at another JOB machine. I went back up to Chicago Brewing and saw that the .25 progressives were good. I played 9/7 DB until I hit 6's for $66 at 11:30pm. My 2,000 credits had grown to 2137. I switched to DDB and hit J's for $64.43. I turned my FP into $550.

It had been a long day. It had been a good day. I liked my pizza and beer, but I also had a great time playing dollars.

Tomorrow I drop back to quarters at DTG. I plan to play a lot.

Yay again! Back in the day (when I worked and had more cash) I played dollar DDB at the Riv. Hit several Aces/kicker one evening, and was hooked. Sadly, the money can go so fast, so I never got too addicted. But totally understand your enjoyment!

This was me. Had a four 2-4s without a kicker on DDB and thought I'd wait for an even number before I hit draw since I don't like dealing with coins when I cash out. This was before I realized that unlike at the D where progressives are awarded to the penny, Four Queens rounds up progressive hits to the next credit, e.g. $105.01 progressive hit gets rounded up to $105.25.

All in all, it was great hanging out with wasilla and exchanging experiences at the downtown casinos. We closed down Chicago brewing together before heading our separate ways.

Too bad it didn't happen earlier in the evening when a bunch of people were playing. You could have made an extra twenty while we were talking. It was great meeting you and your wife.

That must have been an amazing night. I'm with you about the money going fast. I could have handled it when I was working, but am much more comfortable playing lower stakes now,

FYI there are still 3 10/7 quarter machines at 4 queens--just finished playing off my $500 promotion free play on them. They are near the slot club and you face the club when seated at them.

Thanks. Relocated is better than removed. Hope your WE went well, and the FP playoff even better. I hit 8,000 points right before the 11:00 deadline. I was exhausted. How long does it take you to play $64,000?

I've got a picked through ACG and LVA that someone can have if they want to stop by. I'm at the DTG today and tomorrow. I'm old, fat, have thinning gray hair, and am always writing in a notebook. Today I'm wearing brown pants, a reddish shirt, and my cool, new gray Scetchers.

There was one moment when I hit the Aces/k right after someone else did. The slot attendants didn't know what to do.....Crazy night as the hands just kept hitting.

Interested to see how DTG went. Wife and I stayed there a couple springs ago; standard room was just that, wasnt really into VP at the time so didn't check much else besides craps and BJ which were mostly empty, nice clean casino but left with a bad taste every time. Something just always seemed off. Their pool is a lot of fun in the summer though.

I hit the 8000 points Sunday morning after grinding on $JOB. I'm normally a quarter player so the dollar play was a stretch on the bankroll. The first two dollar sessions were bad so I almost had to shut it down but it turned around and I was able to finish the promotion. And yes it was exhasting--almost too much like work. I did this same promotion last year playing the $0.50 10/6 DDB and the variance on that game made me sick--just can't stomach those swings. Thanks for your awesome trip reporting and congrats on the royals. Didn't get any myself this trip but still ended up a small winner.

Yeah, I agree. I love playing in a casino myself, but the hours that some people put in, and keeping track of time that a certain hand was hit, just seems like way too much work. For me to go on vacation and sit with a notepad taking notes, yeah, I don't think so. But to each his/her own.:peace:

I realized later that I had played over $37,000 coin through on Sunday. That's quite a bit more than usual for me and more than I've ever done before, and don't envision doing it again. My 4 Q's room was one of those loud, just over the stage rooms. For invitational events, they reserve specific rooms for you. Mine have been better in the past. Fortunately, I was up too late for noise to be an issue. From the time I checked in, I only left 4 Q's once before checking out. I survived another 4Q's promotion.

    11/11/19 Monday at DTG

There is holiday stuff happening today, but don't bother asking me about it. I pack up and see that a race must be going on as I walk into DTG. They find me a room. I have to go up and escalator, across a bridge, and up an elevator to get to it. It's on the 6th floor and the only view is of the Mob Museum. It is plenty large enough and quiet. I email my thanks to my host. The pool is actually open and much nicer than I expected.

Most of the bar tops have .25c 50/10/6 DDB progressive for aces with kicker and RF. The RF is over $2,000. The bar is deserted this morning and I think I have time to play it later. I take one of the two machines with 5c ten play 40/10/6 DDB. A man is at the other machine and I'm afraid that it might get difficult to get a seat at these. He as actually playing single line $2 9/6 DDB. I find that strange, but he has $1,600 in credits. He tells me later that he was dealt aces. His credits go down fast, and I tell him about the multiline game as he leaves. He leaves, returns, but is more interested in spin poker. That doesn't work out either.

In 10 play, the initial dealt hand is important. Mine are shit and I quickly lose $100 at 12:24. I do better with my 2nd hundred. I'm anxious to move to the bar now, but figure it is a good idea to put some coin in while the going was easy. I was dealt several straights, a couple FH's, and Trip Aces, 2's and 3's. I hit several quads, but I'm not going to report on individual Nickle quads. My best hits were 3,s with a kicker and Aces. I was up and down and cashed out my hundred at 2:10pm.
I headed to the bar, but was alarmed that almost all the seats were taken. I did find a spot and started playing. I was hungry, but the RF was around $2,085. I figured it wouldn't last. I could eat later. I continued to get poor deals. I lost $100 at 2:51. I lost another $100 at 3:22 I was dealt a 4 card RF that didn't connect. For some reason, I thought it would. I lost another $100 at 3:57. After 2 hours, my quad draught ended with 8's at 4:13. A lady is cheering. I assume she hit the RF, but it is still there. She must be excited about the game. At 4:15, I'm dealt Aces with a Kicker for $528. I play a bit more, but notice the RF has reset to $1,250. Apparently she hit it after all. I quit at 4:30 up $50 for the day. I can't figure how to track my coin in on the machine and even the local players can't help. The machine basically tells me my total when I'm out of credits. I don't even know how many dollars through equals a point. The player's desk is busy and tells me my host will be in tomorrow.

I love the VP and glad a big hand bailed me out. Relieved, I head to the D grill to use the last of my November comp and order a great Cheese burger. The DTG beer selection isn't great and I decide on an Arts District brew pub run. I take the SDX to the arts district stop and walk to Hop Nuts for a HH $5 pint of Green Mamba at 8.2% and 100 IBU's. The guy sitting next to me gets a 5 flight of 6oz samplers. He isn't very talkative, but I ask him about a 4rth brewery in the area that I have heard a rumor about. It hasn't opened yet. He has a complete list of area breweries and tasting rooms to check out. I start to tell him about the places, but he has already been to Tenaya, 777, Chicago, and Banger ………..TODAY! And he's drinking another 30oz's here. Monday night football is on with SF up by 10. I'm surprised that so few people are at the bar.

I move to CraftHouse. Ryan is there again. after a few tasters I decide io a pint of Grand Evocation at 9% and 20 IBU's. It's exquisite and I haven't used that word in 20 years. Their Imperial IPA, A Sip For My Homies at 9.5% and 99 IBU's also tasted really good, but I had more gambling to do today.. I also tried Sleeping Forrest, a new 7%/75 IBU IPA. and Scorpion, a malt liquor brewed to remind you of your days of drinking forty's. Can't believe that the same brewery made both of those. Seattle scored a FG.

Able Baker was the last stop The place was crowded and Seattle was scoring. The beer tourist from Hop Nuts had a flight of four 5.5oz samples. He was considering ending the tour. I was drunk last time I was here and had to retry some things. Their Impaled Ale is a serious 10% Imperial Brown. They had 21 of their own beers and 8 of them were 10% or higher. I started with a 5.5oz Honey Dip Chocolate Chip Stout at 10%. It was delicious. I decided on having one more beer. The Zombie Apocalypse tasted good, but I had that last time, I settled on a 5.5oz Monique Collaboration, a 10% Belgian. The game went into overtime and SF no longer has a perfect record. I walked towards The STRAT and caught the SDX back home.

Back at DTG, I decided to try .10c 40/10/6 DDB ten play. I started at 9:57 PM. I lost $100 at 10:27, another $100 at 10:41, another $100 11:15, and a 4th $100 at 11:38. You may be waiting for me to tell you about some kicker quad that I was dealt, but I just lost another $50 before moving to the bar. At Midnight I was back with .25 50/10/6 DDB. I lost another $50 in 20 minutes. I think I lost another $100 after that. I must have been disgusted because I just left without recording the time or coin out.

When I got back to my room it was peaceful. It turns out that my host regularly has Tuesdays off, so I'll miss out on a steak house meal. He did email me, but I was just out too much, and too long to make contact. I tried writing my TR, but …. writer's block.
