    Hey everyone,
As a Christmas present for my wife and I, we are going on trip 12+1 (I don’t like that unlucky number!) This time we have mixed it up and decided to stay at The D in a Premier King. Just wondering if anyone has an recent experience in this room type and/or with staying at the D recently.
    Look forward to the info!
    Thanks!

    Hey Mike,
Thanks for getting back to me. We have been in the casino many times and really enjoy it. Just wondering for info on check in, how the rooms are, any problems or things you may have had some concern about? Just anything really would be helpful if you don’t mind
    Thanks!

Check-in is pretty smooth. The Premium Corner King rooms are slightly larger than the regular rooms and are on the higher floors. They also have a small refrigerator. There are noise issues in a lot of the rooms, so if you're sensitive to that, ask for a room facing the valet entrance. The elevator system is different since you need to enter your floor on the keypad and it assigns you an elevator. IMO the D and GG are the easiest room comps to get downtown.

I stayed in a premium King room in Sept.

Bed was very comfortable, had a sofa in the room and the AC was not motion activated.

My room faced away from Fremont St. and I still heard the bands and I was on a high floor as well. So if you are a light sleeper, ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones might be the thing to pack.

Bathroom was nice, nice shower, nice water pressure and hot water immediately.

MIni fridge was nice to have. No coffee maker, but you can buy a small one at Walgreens or just go downstairs and get a cup of coffee at their coffe bar for 3.00.

NOw, when it comes to housekeeping, my room was cleaned very well. Although, you have to tell housekeeping that you actually want the sheets changed every day, otherwise they do not change the sheets. They just make the bed. The housekeeper told me this. I always take the sheets off the bed, so they have to put clean sheets on. Also, if you want your room vacuumed, you have to request it. I always tip the housekeepers daily and ask for some extra lotion, shampoo, etc. and I get tons of it. :) They really do appreciate the tips.

I liked the D. Easy to navigate and the premium king rooms are just fine. Remember, they are not the Wynn, but it is easy to get comps there.

    Hope this helps.

I would second everything that has been said. The only thing I would add is that the shower setup is not ideal. It is the half glass panel deal so water gets all over the bathroom floor. I took to just asking housekeeping for an extra floor towel or two in the note that I left with the tip. For the life of me I cannot figure out why this current setup is so "in vogue" with room designers. :p

    Just checked out yesterday.

The video is spot on for the room part. The bathroom has been remodeled. Shower is described above and the sink is a larger, shallower square sink.

For me, the D is part of my rotation on every trip. YMMV

I was in the premium room last week for a 2 night stay, first time at the D and it won't be my last. True it is noisy downstairs but I loved the atmosphere at the tables and great ale at the long bar. Clean, hot water and a comfortable bed and as mentioned the fridge is appreciated. My room was facing away and I didn't have any noise problems...but I was heavily sedated on IPA.......
Also impressed with the Grill , thought at first the prices were a little high, but the quality of food was really good. All the staff I encountered from the cleaners, bar tenders, waitresses to a host were excellent.

You will either love or hate the elevators! I used them again last week and became irritated. :p:( However, I love the D overall!

I haven't thought much about them since I haven't had any issues. Were you having problems with wait times?

I find them inefficient for the actual riders. Case in point - last week it was around 6 am and I was using them to go to the second floor. No one around. The casino was pretty empty and I still waited a few minutes for the specific elevator that I was "assigned." Yes, I realize a couple of minutes isn't a big deal, but it's annoying as you KNOW all of the elevators were empty. smh It's a stupid system overall imo.

@tee6395 thank you for describing the how the elevators work. I have a suspicion I will likely get annoyed by them. Just depends on how much rum I have had :)

I see you will be staying there soon. Don't let it get to you. You now are aware, so do your best to be patient. I normally take the escalators up, but I was playing right next to the elevators when I decided to move upstairs to the bar. Things did get a bit better when they added a small additional elevator a few years back. Just try not to be in a hurry. :p

For those who stayed when it was the Fitz, this is a vast improvement in elevators. They were painfully slow. Now just slow.

True, but come on man...they've had a remodel! Truly my only real complaint. ;)

And, don’t forget........if you fly in on Southwest or Spirit, go to the slot club with your boarding pass and they will give you two $25 match play chips!

Love the D, hate the elevator system. I stayed there back when it was Fitzgerald's and I think the wait was longer and more frustrating with the new system than when it was Fitz. During peak travel times, the crowds would back up to ridiculous levels. I'd compare it to the Elevators of the Damned at Imperial Palace. I got so frustrated with it that I stopped staying there. I'm trying it again later this month for the first time in several years. I hope it's improved.

I'm sorry to hear they've put in those glass half doors in the showers. I'm with you, gutshot. I hate those things and can't for the life of me understand why they've become such a trend. They don't contain water well but what I really hate is that you can't just reach in to set the water temp. You've got to get in and go full immersion, hoping you can hit that sweet spot between frying and freezing quickly.

Dear Pillows: Now that you mention it, I have had some unusually slow wait times when they aren't busy.
