I dont think Ive ever seen a flight this cheap out of CLE to LAS and back again, nonstop----

Although I have no one to go with (GF saved her PTO for holidays and friends w kids cant commit)---I booked just myself...how can I pass this up?

Whoa, I would book that even i I wasn't sure about the trip. $28 for a round trip. That is insane. If you got a couple free rooms, you are basically getting a free trip, other than food and gambol bankroll.

You know, there are a lot of people who long for the golden age of aviation where every seat in the plane looked like first class with full 3 course meals. But people underestimate how much airline competition has made flights cheaper. It is sometimes cheaper to fly to a different city than to pay for a cab to the airport.

It sort of works out well because I have the PTO from work (and still 5 1/2 days to use rest of year), the weather is high 70s during the day, I get two comped nights at Gold Coast so no resort fee, and the next nights comped at Ballys in which I will use my Total Rewards Credit Card to pay for the resort fee. So all in all, the traveling/stay portion is just the price of the flight.

That’s awesome! Other than the “free” ones with points the cheapest I have paid is $89 RT on a couple occasions with Southwest.

Me too. CLEVELAND caught me by surprise. From the 3rd Coast (posted on another thread as well) the scary part is what % do you think goes to maintenance? Government is clear winner!! 0C4547E1-1B31-4291-AC27-E4895C7347ED.jpeg

Actually, interestingly, a lot of the low cost airlines have very new jets. This means that their safety and reliability is excellent, and they spend less money on maintenance and fuel (since newer planes and engines are much more fuel efficient). Frontier and spirit have some of the youngest, and therefore, the safest fleets. However I suspect that it will become more challenging as their fleets age.

they're counting on you paying $50 bucks each way in fees and on the last person on the plane paying a little more

The best I did was 39.99 non-stop round trip from Pittsburgh!

It cost me more in tolls driving to Pittsburgh and back than the flight to Vegas...

BTW, both flights could not have been more perfect.

    Enjoy:woot:

Agree---traveling by myself, a bookbag it is. I also never pay for a seat. HOWEVER...I did see on their luggage selection option that a "personal item" is a kids bookbag and that a carry on in a normal sized bookbag---they can fuck off with that noise.

You caught the deal at the right time!!

Right now the lowest prices I'm seeing near me in December are:
    ORD to PHX for $15
    ORD to LAS at $36
MKE to LAS was $69 similar with returns LAS to MKE
MSN to LAS was one day of $49 the rest were over $100 there were still a couple of $15 LAS to MSN flights
GRB to LAS and LAS to GRB were not part of the sale.

It SAYS $15 on the deals page, but actually putting any dates in ...the results are as described above.

They only offer so many of those cheap seats per flight....gotta get them while you can!

My buddy and I booked one of those a few years ago on a lark and on the assumption that if we couldn't make it, no big deal. In the end we couldn't make it so we lost our $30 or whatever it was.

there are actual dimensions somewhere and most compatible for 3 nights. And lots of stuff on amazon and elsewhere which fits the size restriction. (could be a male thing though as 1/4 of my bag is female when traveling with the mrs).

I bought a personal size bag specifically for flights on Frontier. It's the same size that Spirit and Allegiant allow also. You can actually get a decent amount of stuff in it, enough for three days easy for me. I have occasionally used a neck pillow stuffed with other soft goods to extend things a bit. I haven't needed a carryon in quite some time. Frontier is my usual airline. Since the pilots and crew have agreed on pay and benefits increases recently, they seem much happier these days too. Have fun!
