I appreciate it when fellow VMB-ers post their experiences and numbers/results from their efforts at accessing specific levels of Rewards Programs.

    • Following the written rules/guidelines to make it over the bare minimum requirements.
    • Multipliers/promos applied.
    • Coin-In vs. Property Spend.
    • Length of stay - frequency.
    • Length of Gambling sessions - per day/per stay & average.
    • Comps/promos received.
    • Your ADT.
Before VMB I would have never known any of this.
I applaud the collective knowledge of this board!

Unfortunately, the two words "invite only" supersede everything you've laid out in the lengthy post above.

And why are they not inviting him? You summed it up quite nicely in the first sentence of your second to last paragraph:

"All told, I think you are the type of player that they clearly don't want obtaining the 7 star benefits."

    End of story.

I don't play at Caesars or MGM properties because their pay tables and table game rules are substandard (IMHO), and I'm not interested in paying their ridiculous fees, so I don't have any first hand knowledge of their tier/comp systems. But I read the posts here from angry folks who complain about various fees, drink policies, comp policies, and overall poor service. And I wonder why anyone would want to be a customer of a business that clearly does not value them. If folks would walk away from these properties, they might change their policies. But even if they don't change, surely there are other casinos that would value the business of a player like the OP and countless others here on this board. Why continue to support these companies only to be mistreated?

My opinion. It's in invited tier. They are not going to issue an invite. Simple as that. My issue here is the issue of stating that the person is over-comped. He has quite clearly stated multiple times that the rate he paid for those 100 nights is exactly the same as if he wasn't logged in. So what was he over-comped on. If he has never been given any comps, how could he be over-comped???

I think he has a right to know that information, if they are going to use that as their "excuse" for not issuing the invite.

You’re dating a girl and have evolved to the point of marriage considerations. She has dominated your time and budget. You love the way you feel and are being treated.
Oh-ooh. You’ve been reassigned at work and downgraded in position and salary. She drops you. Perhaps you misread the signals given throughout the relationship. it doesn't do much good to appeal to the family (higher ups) for reconsideration. She’s their baby!!
And after careful consideration of the circumstances, do you REALLY want her back?
I feel for you dude but you’re trying to keep a loveless affair alive. Even if you win (something) with the argument, every time you put your card in the machine, make a reservation with your player number, eat a meal, they’ll know it’s YOU!! :woot:
I would take my business elsewhere, like that cute girl next door. With the knowledge you now possess you’ll have a happy life with a happy “wife”.
Or you’ll find out in reality that behaving as a gambler with this strategy in rooms, food, and gaming level that nothing will last forever. Best of luck!!

IMO, if they aren't going to count non-gaming spend towards any status beyond Diamond, they should add into the terms that non-gaming TCs will be limited to 25k per year. That would be enough to get frequent hotel guests into the lounges - as is similar to elite tiers at many hotel chains.

It says a lot about OP's ADT.

Theo has been the lodestar for how CET awards comps for ages. Is it really that surprising that they're willing to deny 7* to someone who hasn't been very profitable for them as a diamond and who does not appear likely to gamble enough on profitable games in 2020 to justify the additional comps?

Eh, I suspect they might, but they want valuable spend. If you spend $5,000 at a cabana, $200 on dinner, and $400 a night on a hotel room, they made a ton on you per day you were in Vegas. Your non-gaming ADT (where theo is profit from normal spend) is high.

If you're spending $50 a night (inclusive of taxes) on a hotel, by the time they let you in the diamond lounge, pay taxes, and clean and depreciate the room...they didn't make any money.

Which are the "companies" that you speak of, that treat you well? Boyd, who has crushed VP players with their Tier point rules, and halved the VP comp rate, while reducing free play and comp rooms? M-Life which Oct 1 less than halved comps earned for play, and has it's goal to reduce costs in the hundred of millions, much of that impacting the player? Stations, who no mails VP players for hitting a royal flush or having (dear god no!), a winning year? Those 4 cover, what 80% of the market? The changes including yearly increases in resort fees, paid parking, etc! What companies are you supporting that aren't treating players like crap?

As far as OP is concerned. He just learned of this issue recently, so of course he hasn't had the opportunity to move on to play elsewhere, and still wants to get this resolved. Your post is as if he had this issue the whole year, yet complained and continued to play. That's not the case here.

Lots of people are CET locals players and that drives some of this. Choices may be comparable.

And, if you're someone who loves the Strip, the choices may be limited.

They are selling those rooms at nearly no profit. If you're taking the lounge for meals on top...they aren't making a dime. If you earned 25k of tier credits by doing that, why are they going to reward you with 7*?

Sometimes the obvious answer is the right one: CET is telling the truth when they say they don't think they've made enough money to justify giving out the 7 star trip benefit, the 7 star companion card, access to the AC 7 star lounge, etc. There's a reason 7 stars is "invited" and not defined by a set amount of TC. They've always wanted the flexibility to deny it where it made sense to do so.

    No comped rooms or food.
    No drinks at lounge

100 PAID nights at casino property.

That should be eligible for some sort of award or designation.

There's definitely places in Vegas that offer a better mix of comps for pure gaming play, but they may not offer the quality of resorts, the location, etc. It's a trade-off, no doubt. And if you're outside of Vegas, the comps from peers may look pretty similar to Diamond at CET.

I suspect the system has an arbitrary charge like $15 bucks of comps used every time you swipe to enter the lounge. They aren't tracking that he doesn't drink in the lounge, and they really don't care that he says that is the case.

Saying "no comped food" when you're able to go eat in the AC diamond lounges is also not something they're going to find meaningful.

And the person is getting diamond, with access to a lounge like you'd get if you spent 100 nights in Hiltons and Marriotts.

i know mgm will nuke old mgm cards if you have a bunch
i think it's after 6 or 8 -which i appreciate as i lose my cards, forget them in the machine etc and don't want people swiping them bringing down my adt
does caesars do the same thing? if they don't they really have themselves to blame

The issue is that the OP got 100 nights of comped resort fees. So from CET's perspective, those paid nights were actually comps.

Keep in mind, even the 10% discount CET gives all diamond players by default is considered a comp and has to be earned by gambling.

He's got roughly a hundred nights' worth of waived resort fees, and dozens of diamond lounge visits. It's not a lot, but with an Average daily theoretical that was so low prior to the four big days in AC, apparently, it's enough.

Assuming the average resort fee is $35, and the average room rate was $50 (for a $5 comp at 10% off), that's $40 per night stayed, or $4,000 in comp value, which would be "justified" at about $12k in theo... not to mention whatever they value the lounge visits at.

This is starting to make a lot more sense now.

it's not just the way of casinos today, it's been the way of casino forever.
they sell the illusion of winners but don't like people who actually use their brain to win.
i've exploited tons of casino promos and every once in a while i get shutout do to some terms in the promo nobody reads.
i've gotten diamond using the 3x and 5x tier credit promos.
i've easily stayed in their properties 50 nights this year, almost always paying for my room but giving them 0 action . I seriously have maybe played 2 hours of blackjack and 10 hours of poker total at their properties. If they look at waived resort fees as a comp i'm sure my comp number is mudd. Although to be fair if that's how they do it, there is definitely some tax loophole they're exploiting in the process.
but i understand that while a small minority of people exploit promos like this, they're done bc the casino expects that overall it makes them money. most people in casinos have zero disipline or understanding of basic statistics such as expect value.the reason they don't kick out every single person exploiting a promo playing with an edge is merely bc they don't know who all of these people are. as casinos move away from their older crappy computer systems things you mention that happened at the suncoast will happen more since it's really not hard to see which players only play on big multiplier days on machines with very small edges and therefore are playing a +ev game which the casino doesn't want.

there are different levels of casino customers. a locals casino like the suncoast is going to get more knowledgeable customers than strip casinos who expect better value for their gambling dollars. so they do things like points multipliers.it's better to have someone come in who wasn't going to anyway, have them play at a 5% disadvantage on slots and give them half of that back in comps than it is not to have them at all.that's why the run these promos.they don't do it to be nice.

i understand that from a gambling perspective this forum is more geared towards casual players and tourists than advantage play.it's why you get people who worry about things like "screwing over" a host by not playing enough on an offer and things of that nature.people on here need to realize that casinos are out to screw you and will happily bleed you dry and leave you homeless if you're willing to lose everything. hosts aren't your friends, you're their meal ticket. sure they might be charasmatic and even may actually like you but at the end of the day you're a dollar sign.of course they're going to be nice to you. they get a kickback on everthing you lose and they're giving things away that aren't their's to get you to play up to whatever magic number is in the computer. casinos have always been this way.all will be this way. yes losing players were treated better when the mob ran vegas, but that wasn't to be nice- it was because vegas was the only play to gamble back then and that's all they were selling.

As for the OP. the best thing he can do is try and bring negative attention to caesars in various forums. he's obviously not a good casino customer (neither am I!)
In a vacuum he's not worth it to be 7 stars from the casino standpoint. but if causal players who lose a lot are less inclined to play bc people are getting denied 7stars ceasars make change its tune.
