Slots Silver Strike slot machine

Anyone know which casinos still have the Silver Strike slot machine? I know that 4 Queens and El Cortez still do, but they're downtown. Pokey

Damn I used to LOVE silver strikes and had so many at one time. Those machines were fun to play. They just look cool in displays too.

1)The Rt. 66 Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico put (2) silver strike machines in play 07/10/2019.

There are (4) new clad $10.00 strikes in play.

Back in the '90's, those things were everywhere, and they had .999 pure silver proof ounce coins.
Now, it's 1 in 10 are silver.

 

I have told the story on why that happened. If you're curious, search on Silver Strikes and you'll see one of my TRs where I explain it. 2009 was the year of "the change".

 

From what I gather, you are a collector of Silver Strikes. Do you also collect casino chips and tokens?

 

No, and the reason why is that casino chips only have as much value as a person who wants to buy it from you.

At worst case, the "silver" silver strikes are worth the melt value of whatever .999 silver is in them.

 

Does that mean you don't collect any blue cap strikes then? I don't think they have any silver in them
Red and yellow I believe have silver

 

Red, Blue, and Yellow caps are exceptions since they are "special". IMHO, a complete set holds a "premium" over the individual value.

Blue caps are colorized "pot metal", but

1)They are colorized
2)The come in a blue capsule
3)They are part of a set

The nominal premium over the value of the strike at the cage is:

blue caps = 2x ($20.00)
red caps = 3x ($30.00)
yellow caps = 2x ($80.00)

However, a complete set of a release (normally one blue, one red, one yellow and a $300, with a nominal value of $490) normally sells for about $600.00.

 

I don't know anything about collecting silver strikes, but someone on Detroit Craigslist is selling off his collection if you ever buy ones you don't win yourself.
