Anecdotal evidence but parents were booked for 3 nights @ GN in Laughlin. Only stayed last night and have moved to Harrah's. Said room was very dated and toilet had flow issues.

I was a big fan of Laughlin in the 1990's and early 2000's. But then I started going to LV more, and it has always seemed to me that Laughlin never really recovered from the 2008 recession. Sometimes I'll come home from LV through Laughlin and stop there in the early afternoon and everything is still asleep at that time - pits not open, parking lots empty, etc. Makes me sad.

I'm not surprised either. I have been going to Laughlin for quite a while, and my next trip tentatively scheduled for next February/March will likely be my last. Most of the properties there are beyond dated, almost to the point of embarrassment. Other than some of the properties changing owners, and usually for the worse, it just seems that most of the places in Laughlin are not investing in them, other than on the casino floor. It's almost like flying these days-you don't go there for the wonderful food or luxurious accommodations. It's just another place that has legalized gambling.

We actually just booked two nights in Laughlin at the Aquarius, leaving tomorrow morning. Sometimes it's a little break from the craziness of Vegas. The Aquarius and the somewhat new Laughlin River Lodge are the only places we feel are worth staying at. The rest of Laughlin is very dated. We need a little getaway, having had both our pooches pass in the past few weeks, for different illnesses. First trip in 25 years that we don't need a dog sitter. Jury is out if that's a good thing....

I go to laughlin a couple times per year. Love the place. i do not expect anything fancy and actually hope the place gets run down, That mean cheaper prices and lower minimums for me.

As for the river, well, its been there for like a million years so i am pretty sure it will still be there long after we are gone. just sayin.
