It was a surprise to meet texas steph at mss today. With the hubs. Who knew those post office photos could be so accurate. Certainly not this guy. Sorry we didn’t go off and have a drink or snack somewhere. I feel we must have passed as two ships in the night Halloween since we recognized many of her photographic subjects. Meeting vmb’ers is always a treat.

We played about 90 minutes at the bar and it was just lame. We could have fought through it I suppose but admitted defeat and created a new battle plan. Drink service was way more often than needed too.

I must add the redwood bar is excellent. Matt and Keith tend and never change in their professionalism or interesting banter. One change in the bar is service at the tables is by waitstaff from the redwood. It used to be provided by Keith and Matt. They weren’t too pleased by it and I endured it last trip but just assumed everything was busy and the staff was pitching in to alleviate the crowds’ needs. Not so. Management decided it needed to change. So now if there is not seating available at the bar when we arrive we just sit and wait for an opening blissfully ignorant of the changes. I mean, we’re from out of town; how are we to keep up with all this.
Seems silly, but it used to be neat to sit in the bar and have the bartender come out and take your order and serve you, almost like a neighborhood bar. So we wait for an opening to experience that same feeling.
Neither was particularly happy with the changes but they didn’t dwell on it either. Both are very professional and if the bar is your thing, they’re the best!!
