    My Trip Report

So, after years of hitting Vegas 3 – 4 times a year, 2019 brought about some big changes in my life and so now after just under a full year I make my return to Las Vegas. This time for my Bachelor Party!! The past several years there was a lot of soul searching for me, some how I got to my mid-forties and I wasn’t married, had no kids, was in a dead-end job and was just kind of existing. By the end of 2017 I was bound and determined to make some changes in my life. As 2018 progressed, I was a new man, I got a new job, I started to be more of a community member in many different respects, and things started to change for me. I still made 4 trips last year and Vegas was/is still a lot of fun. Then 2019 hit and my world turned upside down, but all for a good thing. I met (or really got reacquainted to someone I’ve known for nearly 30 years) the ONE. Things in my life reprioritized and Vegas was something that took a back seat. I had other things to spend my money on. But anyway, enough of that. On to the good stuff as far as you all are concerned.

For the past several years, maybe 10 or more, a group of us have hit a drivable casino twice a year for the Derby and the Breeder’s Cup. The group consists of 3 big horse racing fans, 3 fans of general debauchery (not to say that the horse fans aren’t) and me whose list of vices is now down to gambling. Of the 8, 4 of us are pretty much staples to the twice a year horse racing gambling shitshow. When the group heard that we are really taking the Breeder’s Cup weekend on the road and hitting Vegas everyone jumped in. I would like to think they all got on board because they were honoring me, but I’m not going to kid nor flatter myself. A group head out today and the rest, including me head out tomorrow morning. We have rooms booked at Park MGM, my first time there. I have a Nightingale Suite reserved for the 3 nights. I’ve been wanting to branch out more from Aria (don’t get me wrong I love the property, but I am on the lower end of their comp spectrum), so we’ll give it a whirl.

We don’t have a ton on the docket other than betting the horse, rolling the dice and maybe some other carney games. From the airport I will head straight to Park, where hopefully my crew will already be posted up in the sports book. We will be putting a lot of action in on the ponies for the Breeder’s Cup. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to the horses, so I take a combination of experts picks and make exacta and trifecta bets using their knowledge. Since I’ve switched to this method I’ve more or less broken even. I’m sure we will put some ridiculous group bet in for the Juvenile. After the races, and I’m sure during, I will hit the craps table. We then have bays reserved at TopGolf for 8:30. I’ve played at other venues and enjoy it; I think the Vegas skyline will be a great addition for the night. Things will be capped off by hopefully what becomes hours of good rolls.

Saturday will be somewhat of a lazy day, college football and horse racing all day. I need to make sure I am up by 10 so I can ensure that I get a bet in on the Bowling Green Falcons. I am going to take all my winnings from Friday and fade my Akron Zips, at -6 the Falcons are an absolute steal. I really should take out a home equity loan and throw that down on them. We haven’t decided where we are going to play the ponies on Saturday maybe MB, maybe MGM, if we like Park MGM’s book. We’ll play it by ear. After I collect my winnings and tr not to lose it before dinner, we are headed to Charlie Palmer for dinner. After dinner I plan to collect more chips from the good people of MLife mostly off their craps tables.

Sunday there are no solid plans, I need to be somewhere at 1:00 local where I can watch my hapless, yet still beloved Browns take on the Broncos. If I wasn’t going to Vegas, I would be going to Denver this weekend for skiing and football. I like brunch so I might treat myself to a nice meal before settling in for a full day of NFL action. My group may or may not be too hungover to eat with me but that’s just fine with me. Around the football will be lots of craps action and maybe some other stuff thrown in, but no solid plans.

Monday, most of the group leaves early, I’m the only afternoon departure. I may wrap things up with a massage before I head out to the airport. I will most definitely get a solid breakfast, maybe at Mon Ami Gabi, but we’ll see.

This is probably a somewhat tame bachelor party weekend, but like I said gambling is really the only vice I partake in. Spending money on girls pretending to like me for my bankroll does nothing for me. I’m not judging others who enjoy it, just not my thing. I quit drinking before I was even legal. I know my weaknesses and have stayed away from drugs. I love reading all our tales and our varied levels of degeneracy on here, to each their own!! I’m not sure how much I will or won’t post but I’ll try to give a decent account of my trip. I am about 24 hours away from touchdown in Vegas and extremely excited.

Have fun! I took in a Browns games at Kopper Keg West a few years ago and it was a blast. They are a Browns Backers bar. It was late in the 0-16 season but the faithful were still there barking. They almost won too.

As a sports better, there is no games you should bet the whole house on. Learn my lesson and.now I have a money management. I dont like the crap.table at the Park because it too long compare to.regular crap but if u find a way to win. Good luck.

As I was getting up to head to the airport some of the gang was still up in Vegas. Up at 4 ET, means today is going to be a long day. Got the upgrade to FC on the leg to DTW, only 20 minutes in the air. The DTW to LAS leg I have the exit row window seat with an empty space in front of me.

Win or lose at the tables, I’m now winning in life.

    Thanks for the well wishes.
