I'm sure most of us remember when the Travel Channel had a bunch of Vegas themed shows several years ago. I personally enjoyed them all and gleaned some insight from them that I probably still use today.
What would YOU like to see them cover if/when they ever return? I think a tour of some of the off strip hidden gems would be cool. Maybe Chinatown or the museums. Let's hear your suggestions. Perhaps a producer might take notice.

I would enjoy an in depth show on the lesser known casinos. An example would be Poker Palace, Wild Wild West, Silver Nugget, etc. Good or bad, clean or dirty...it would be interesting

Show all the casinos that have "No Firearms Allowed" stickers posted on the entrance doors.

I laugh at all the "secret" side of Vegas stuff that floats around, notably given that if the writer or filmmaker bothered to stop in here for 10 seconds he/she would learn there's nothing secret to what's being touted in awed/hushed/only-I-know tones. Having written that: Anything that has nothing to do with the Strip or downtown; seriously, there are no discoveries left and saying so is like believing a Franciscan monk can spend his whole life with the Bible and, SHAZAM, there's some new stuff in there. Focus on the rest -- the bulk -- of this valley of 2 million people, in terms of food, quirks, outdoorsy stuff that doesn't focus on the dam or Valley of Fire like some just-discovered gem, activities.

A showing/review of restaurants with each casino.
An hour for most hotel/casinos would generate numerous shows.

Would be boring as hell but transportation around the city..Bus routes, costs, rideshare info...Explain the 'Spaghetti Bowl' to the tourist...I'll see the traffic updates on the morning news out there and still not sure exactly the area they are talking about.

I'd like to see some episodes comparing casinos - minimums, rules, amenities, etc.

Feature some of the better off strip restaurants...not downtown either. More so the neighborhood spots that are easily accessible to visitors.

A blend of both downtown and the strip, but what will set these episodes apart from the rest of the Vegas shows will be the insightful commentary and scathing interviews with members of VMB. Yeah, that's right. A whole new breed of expert railing about everything the board can produce, ranging from resort fees, the demise of 3:2 to why Eataly is destined for failure! That's right, sports fans, the last six minutes of the show will be a round table of random VMB members, not unlike the "McLaughlin Group" of PBS yesteryear.

You know you want to see it. Now it's just a question of lining up sponsors. :wink2:

I miss the in room travel shows from the 80s and 90s. Not the pathetic 702 shopping shows, but rather 15-30 minute shows covering many topics, be it nuclear testing, casino history, the building of the Hoover Dam, etc.

I'd enjoy an hour special focusing on that "Taj Mahal" of Las Vegas properties, Ellis Island.

Not having cable anymore, I miss the travel channel. One of my favorite shows was Great Hotels with Samantha Brown. I think it was a 30 minute show. I’d like to see something similar to that, but only Vegas properties. Each show could focus on a different property, showing different room types, restaurants, amenities, etc.

Its been so long since I saw those TC shows that I can't remember all they covered, but remembered at the time they had plenty of material from all the new places that were built on the Strip in the 90s. There has been no new places open on the Strip since 2010.

I agree with Deansrobinson on a show that would focus on Vegas changes since the early 2000s like worse gambling rules, higher minimums, and resort fees, and perhaps highlight the places that the consumer can frequent to help mitigate those costs (downtown, Cromwell, TI, etc). Call it "Vegas Value" or something like that.

For me I want to see a Vegas series that shows life behind the scenes of Glittery Vegas. Maybe title it something like "Inside Las Vegas".

Maybe one episode will dwell on the life of a Vegas dealer, from commuting to work, to punching in, interactions with the bosses behind the scenes, the drama that comes with dealing with co-workers, bosses, and the ever self entitled public.

Another episode can dwell on the construction industry (this would be my favorite), showing the drama of meeting building goals, between trades and co-workers, and how they manage to co-exist while the casino is open 24/7.

I'd also like to see an episode that shows how all the different departments of a Vegas property co-exist with each other, from housekeeping to security to maintenance and the supply department that daily receives the tons of food, supplies, and equipment to keep the casino running.

And another interesting episode can show how the money cage works and the behind the scenes of money handling and the life and times of a worker that handles those millions of dollars on a daily basis.

And if anybody knows if there are already episodes out there like these let me know! I'd love to watch them whether past or present!:beer:
