I have ridden that Vue Bar through the night and into the morning a few times. I am fascinated by the SF prog --I have seen it $500 couple of times.

    Great vicarious action keep going...............

It would be amazing for me to see it hit that amount once. I've never even seen it at $300. It has bee hit several times today since me.

We should play together sometime. I'd even be willing to give King's bar a try. After all, it's the only bar at 4Q's that's never sucked money out of my pocket like a vacuum cleaner.

    10/28 Monday at The D.

I'm up at 10:30, but spend over an hour figuring out my notes and writing yesterday's trip report.

I get to the Vue Bar and the game looks good. I start playing at 1:11. I get 9's for $35.50 at 1:15. I decide to wait until the quad progressive hits $30.01, which rounds up to $30.25. As I'm waiting, I figure out that just the RF and SF progressive makes it +EV. I hit 9's again at 1:41 for $36. The quad got above $40 before someone else hit it. There was a flurry of quick quad hits by others and I had to lower my target to play. The Royal got hit at 2:30 and the SF at 2:56. At that point the quad had already reset again. With all the progressives cleaned out, I cashed out with a $75 loss. I had 144 points today and 806 points this trip.

This was a pretty short gambling session. I had $40 FP at Binion's . Th ey have a daily promotion that will give another $20 after $1,600 coin in, and a food voucher for much less. I would have preferred to play this on BP, but they changed the RF progressive machines to have a 120 coin payout on all quads. I first discovered this when I hit aces, and only heard the chimes for 150 credits. I've only recently started playing there again. One of the RF's was over $1,100, so I played 9/7 DB on that.

I started playing at 4:35. I lost my $40 FP at 4:43 having played only $120 through. I got another 4 card inside straight flush, but I kept the straight this time. I lost my hundred at 5:13 after about $500 through. At 5:14 I got 9's. At 5:18 I drew a 4th Ace for $200. I felt they owed me for last year. I later cashed out a $300 ticket to help with my accounting. I was up $100. I was dealt 3's with a superfluous kicker for $100. At 6:35, I had 203 points and was up $50 for the session. I discovered that both the food comp and the FP was to be used within 24 hours so I played it off. Out of the $20 I cashed out for ??????? NADA. I got my bet back on one hand, but also played off those 5 credits.

I think that they are hoping this promotion will bring people in like the Motherload did. So far, I don't see it with VP players. Walking back, I heard a guy say what sounded like "Never trust paper hangers," Hopefully I heard that wrong. Whoever he was complaining about was a "LIAR! a LIAR!!!!! So I'll keep a look out. I couldn't decide if he was a preacher, a protester or just a little crazy. It was worse than I expected. He turned out to be a tourist.

The Royal is over $1,100, but the SF was in the low $70's and the quad had just been hit. I forgot to cash my Binion's tickets and am headed back to use that food voucher.

Not sure what happens after that.

Over $500 for the SF? That's just nuts. Has anyone played alone and clocked these meters? I assume at least 0.5% each. Maybe 1% for the SF, or people play it very poorly.

Such detail! Love me some VP at 4Q, and sometimes at the Vue bar. I plan to put in some play downtown later this week, and hope to say hello. You are overdue for a Royal... or three!

10/28, Monday night at The D.

I stopped at the bar on my way to dinner. It looked good so I ordered a Stone on tap and started to play. The SF got hit. The RF had already climbed to over $1,2000, but it would come with a W2. The quad alone made the play worthwhile. I burned through over $70 worth of credits chasing it. I finally drew kings for $42. I cashed out down $29.25 with 53 points.

Dinner was at Binion's. I used the $10 voucher for a ham and cheese omelet. It is in the 50's, and kind of cold for a lot of desert rats. It was a relatively sparse crowd on Freemont.

After checking the progressives again, I decided to go to Banger Brewing. I've had their Brown and an IPA when El Co served them. We're not talking about samples here, but dozens of pints. I've checked their offerings before, but this is my first time drinking on premises. I went after 10 pm for their 9 to 11:00 $5 HH. The serving sizes varied, but all their beers except for a barrel aged was $5 plus about .40c tax. A lot of people, who weren't on the street, were here. It is a small place and was packing in about 2 dozen patrons. Nobody was asking for a Corona, with or without lime. The bartender, Tom or Tommy, was great and informative. Tiffany, of Chicago Brewing fame, moved here last June and loves seeing her old patrons.

I tasted a Saison, a Belgium Golden Ale, and an Imperial IPA. I would order the Belgium in Belgium. My perceptions of Saisons are fluid. If it weren't for the other 2, I would have happily drank this tonight. The Imperial IPA is called Big Banger and that's what I ordered. The alcohol content % is in the upper 7's. It's a full body beer whose hops initially hit the palate hard and then rolled off the tounge with a full fruity aftertaste. Unlike a lot of hoppy IPA's, this one tasted better with every sip. I rarely pay for a beer in Vegas, but I think that I will hit more happy hours here.

I was hoping to play more VP but the SF had been hit again minutes before I came in, and the Quad was hit while I was looking at the payouts. I'm going to try going to be early. I'm thinking about going to Jerry's Nugget tomorrow.

Awesome Monday updates, glad you liked your trip to Banger. If you ever make it back, try at least a sample (they'll give you a free oz to try) of their Coffee Kolsch and the El Heffe Jalapeno Wheat beer. You really don't find either of these styles elsewhere, I love both and always try to track down each trip.

Hope you hit a Royal soon!!!

I hadn't seen your pre trip post so didn't see this until now, but funny that I was looking for a seat at Chicago Brewing around 2:30pm that very day, but every seat was taken, and the cigar smoke was a bit too heavy anyway. If it wasn't for that, I'd probably would have been playing for a while, a seat or two away from you. I remember there was a bride in her wedding dress and tiara seated in the back corner at that time. And there was a guy sitting at the first seat who spent the whole time on his phone until it appeared a woman wanted to play and either asked him to move, or the bartenders opened the seat for players for her, as he then moved to a table and continued on the phone, smoking his cigar.

If you are going to play at the Golden Gate progressive, you might want to pick up some swag.

I remember when it was Fitz, there was a frozen drink bar on the first floor in the lobby area close to the elevators. It was tied to the upstairs bar for progressives. Those same progressives have been there at least 15 years. Memories grow fuzzy but I do remember chasing it at $500.

Would enjoy playing beside you! ----Do you change your play based on high progressives? Years ago I hit $2508 .25 DDB at Elcor chased it all night next morning I put in a twenty played for Royal every opportunity instead of best strategy and hit it. (never happened again)

At least with 3 to a Royal or better, going for the royal is usually the right play anyway with a sizable progressive. Now tossing any pair for 2 or less suited cards would be a bit extreme...

Sorry I missed you, I enjoy your posts. I'd be the guy so focused on his game, that he wouldn't even notice a lady in a wedding dress.

I've never seen a quarter RF even close to that high. As I've reported, I have to guess about appropriate strategy alterations. Whenever ask I someone knowledgeable, the strike points for strategy changes are higher than what I expected. Maybe a math person has it down and will share. I'd like to play beside you too, but you might not be the guy to compete against for a Royal.

You know this just encourages me. You forgot to report what time you rolled out of bed and what you went to do next. Pretty funny casino casinokid!

People do play it badly and some don't play 5 coins. $500 is Unicorn unusual.
I don't know how to clock a meter. I'm pretty sure I was playing alone for a while this morning. I put thru $25 to $30 and the meter moved exactly .20c for all 3 progressives.
I did a little sleuthing this morning and discovered that the Vue Bar is linked to the same games on the GG floor.

That must be new. I hit the royal at GG last summer and it was much lower than the Vue bar which was our next stop.
