The "Don't Tell my Boss" Secret Getaway TR, 10/30 - 11/2

Has no one else ever told a little fib in order to get a few much-needed days off of work?? Ok then. Don't judge me. [emoji16]

Hubs and I have taken quite a few Vegas trips over the last 4+ yrs, and I've been posting my trip reports on [gasp!] another forum. I decided to stop being stingy, and go ahead and try posting a TR here, too. I hope to give at least 1 person a little entertainment while they countdown the time until their next Vegas trip. [emoji111]

We had originally planned to drive to Lake Charles, Louisiana (our local) after work on Halloween and stay 2 nights. Then I thought, well heck, no one else at my workplace is off that week... and Vegas is sooooo much more fun (duh!)... so on a whim, I checked flight prices and actually found a decent deal for arrival/ departure times that would give us 3 full days plus most of Saturday (gotta have that Sunday at home to recuperate!). Then, I told hubs to see if he could get those days off. He rolled his eyes but he doesn't fight me anymore when I get a wild Vegas hair, LOL. He got the green light from his job, and then it was my turn to come up with a "story" and see if I could get the time off, too. Turns out, I'm either very persuasive, or something in my eyes told the bossman that he would never have peace if he didn't agree, so... ta-da!! Two Vegas trips in the same month, a first for us!

My next chore was to figure out where home base would be for those days. I believe my "tastes" are starting to evolve in my older years (or I'm just turning into a snob... no offense to all you other snobs [emoji8]), because staying in a so-so hotel in downtown LV just did not appeal to me this time. Hubs got a little huffy when I stated that we would be staying on the Strip, but he calmed down after I agreed to us getting a rental car so we could venture DT some. I got lucky and found a decent price on the car thru Alamo... made even better due to us getting free parking at our home airport with my club points.

So, our LV digs....
I have a free night at Cosmo due to my Sterling status, so I called to see if I could book that. It has to be booked at least 14 days in advance and I reached out just in time to use it for Nov 1st. I asked about the rate for Oct 31st, and was quoted $140 plus resort fee for a Terrace Studio. Sold! I [emoji173] Cosmo and 1 night is not enough. I also love free rooms but c'mon, that is a good deal, even for this cheapskate!!
Now, where to stay for our first night? I had an offer at Bally's for $29 and no resort fee (diamond card) so I booked it. Then, I checked that date on the Wynn game app and found I had enough gems for a 1 night stay (totally free) so I booked THAT instead and cancelled Bally's. Is it weird that I love the Wynn's showers?? (And Cosmo's, too!) Well I do, and the temps during our stay will be colder than I like, so I'm looking forward to hot water in luxury to warm me up after a chilly day/night!!

I still have some BR left from our last visit (late Sept,early Oct) , plus hubs has a couple bucks. [emoji6] I also have $75 fp at Cosmo. I will be looking for lots of time at VP, and some nice wins would be a plus!! I can spend them on my soon-to-be-here twin grandbabies!! [emoji7][emoji7]

Ok, enough chitchat! My goal is a pic-heavy TR, light on the essay. We shall see how that turns out!

Awesome!! I do the same with my work!! I’m headed for round two “redo” on Friday after having to leave Vegas when my son got in a car accident after only one night in Vegas. Maybe we will run into each other!! Love following your reports!!

He’s okay. He fractured his ankle. Was an awful 5 hour drive home for me. He’s 24 but still they are always our babies! Thanks for asking. I love the Chandelier bar and I’m sure I will be perched there on many occasions during my trip!

I totally agree, Steph. I love beautiful rooms/suites, great views, Limos, and being treated like a Queen!!!
