Here I am, faced with the same conundrum I face every "first morning". its only 6am here - but is 9 am back home. So I'm up and awake with little chance of more sleep - and I'm on about 3 hours. Because I got into town, gambled for about 90 minutes and then got in bed and was wired with adrenaline.

So today is looking like I'll be heading down early to explore a bit, do some gambling and then possibly crash in the afternoon for a bit so as to not completely miss out on Friday night.

But here's what happened last night. (by the way I inadvertenly made a couple posts in the DTGpost last night - I kept wondering where my TRposts were going).

Plane landed 30 minutes early - couldn't be happier with Spirit for the value. They will be a go-to airline. Only issue for me is flight schedule - getting in at 1230 am EST can be rough, since travel/check in and a bit of gambling means you aren't getting to "sleep" until 3-4 am.

Then headed to Bell's VIP booth - got a shuttle quickly. I wasn't alone this time, had to make stops at Excal and CP on the way - which at first really irked me but the driver was quick and efficient and I was watching Google maps - only added about 15 minutes total to trip. Check in fast and easy. I neglected to take any pictures. Igot a Premium Corner room as promised. The room is clean, very nice, bright and crisp. NOrmally staying at Palazzo I will be the first to say - its no Palazzo - but having also spent the night at most other strip properties, I would say its on par with a lot of the mid-range strip properties. Here are pics. I do love the wraparound windows. (AFTER uploading I realized the lighting on the pictures isn't very good - I'll get better ones later).

I did attempt the $20 trick on check-in. The girl at the front desk was very friendly about it. Simply said that i must have gotten this stuck (there was a long line), then she somewht under her breath said that due to a couple special events she had no upgrades to offer - leaving the door open to a future use of it. As I said before, I'm in a Premium Corner Room, which the only upgrade would be a suite, so no problem there. She did ask if I had a tower/location preference. I told her I didn't care.

I got put into the Casino Tower, because she said it has the best views of Downtown - from reviews I know it is also the noisier of the two, and I would say I'm on the noisiest corner - there's H&H - the lights on Fremont were just turned off, it DOES look cool when all lit up, I'll get a better picture later.

With respect to noise, its not that bad. I'm a pretty picky sleeper - I live in the country, so like it dark and quiet. And while I definitely knew there were some concerts last night, I wasn't bothered with this noise machine that is provided.

Note: as was mentioned in another thread...they now provide noise machines. There are no longer ear plugs (maybe on request). If you're a very light sleeper, I might still recommend ear plugs, but like I said, I wasnt bothered.

After checking in I went down to gamble. $5 craps table was cold as hell - old habits die hard and I was playing $10 minumum out of habit. Blew through $300 in about 45 minutes - bought in for $40 more (something I never do - buy back into a cold table) so I could shoot again - PSO'd immediately. Then lost $40 on VP (although based on point accrual had about 1k coin-in for $40 - so not bad).

The casino was a bit quiet, but fun - drink service was excellent compared to strip, although drinks were not overly strong.

Overall a fun first night but have a bit of a hole to dig out of

All that's left of my $380....

    1572009807205_20191025_055744.jpg

Going to shower and recoup a bit, then go downstairs. NOt overly hungry but hope to find a cheap bit to eat. Then hope to play some cheap craps, get my William Hill app set up (apparently can get a $50 free bet) - I'm betting the EPL game here at noon, I'm not necessarily a huge fan, but I'm an action junkie in Vegas.

I normally don't really report on bankroll since thats more personal, but maybe it will turn around my luck. Currently -365....turning around today.

    In for 300 at dtg...

In for 200 at the D

    Booked a winner.

I will say low rolling DT is amazing. On strip I'd be down 1500 or 2k. Here im down 500.

    Plus better drink service.

I forgot to keep a dollar chip from D. I'll be back.

Also digging long bar for games later. Loud but dig the vibe here.

Still haven't eaten and I've been pounding vodka crans. Think im on 10

So I'm in my room. Put some money on Leicester to win. Up 1-0 right now at +133. Watching first half here then going to hit up long bar I think for 2h.

Must say as much as I love this room, dtg casino leaves a bit to be desired. Spent some time at furnace but they only show espn țhere... and the craps table was only 1/2 open. Im going to check it out again on way to the d.

I want very badly to like this property.... but I'm not sure. Will Write more thought later.

A lot of trips that never improved. Lost 60 but got a ton of play for it.

Did you ask if they could change the channel?

Just because they are all on ESPN networks doesn't mean they have to be.

During the day DTG is definitely dead. You were probably one of the few at the bar this afternoon. I'd be more interested what the traffic was like at 10p on a weekend.

9 nil = Great Sports Bet. Love the trip report to date.

Donut Bar close to the D, very good donuts ($1-$5)! Go out the valet / the back to Carson Street, two blocks East.

I feel your pain. Nothing worse than hitting cold tables all day long. Just don't throw good money after bad. Get some food. Watch some sports. Flirt with pretty girls.

Then you can hit up the tables at night when there are more people around to share the energy of the tables.

I was in Court today (I am a lawyer) and things went well. We were out by 11 a.m. so I decided to get lunch at Cleveland's Jack Casino. It is my birthday and I have some free buffets on my card.

Well, of course I got sucked into a craps session. Like you, I was up about $200 very quickly but things went very cold, very quickly. I cashed out up $50. At least it was a profit, and the buffet was very good.

Keep the TR going because a lot of us are following along.

By the way, if you get into a cold table funk, do what I did last September. Hit Lappert's Ice Cream upstairs at the Cal and get a scoop. I had not walked and eaten ice cream since I was a kid. It was nice in the hot vegas sun and really improved my mood.

It is delicious and a scoop in a sugar cone was about $5.

    Just an idea for you...
