Cal/MSS Oct 17-20

This was a very memorable trip. We flew out of Milwaukee on Thursday, 10/17 which also marked our 38th anniversary. The FA did buy us a drink. The Boeing 737 Max issues has really screwed up the flight schedules to Vegas, so flying on our anniversary wasn’t our first choice. But, if we didn’t want to get up at 2 AM the next day for a 6:30 AM flight, it was the only reasonable option. Going home we had to fly on Sunday if we didn't want a return flight at 6 AM. I'm sure some people love leaving early, but I am not one of them.


Enough of that, lets get to some VP pictures. We stay at Cal but do most of our gambling at Boar’s Head bar. We unpacked and were playing by 3 PM.

That was it for Thursday. We usually don't eat big our first night even though it was anniversary night. So off to 777 for some sandwiches.

Friday we walked over to Hennsey's for a early lunch because we have dinner reservations at Redwood to celebrate. I emailed our host and mentioned we might go over our $200 Gold Card limit. She shocked me and said she added another $100 to my card. No food pics but I had the large filet with a lobster tail side and my wife had her favorite lamb chops and also a lobster tail side. Total bill with a couple of drinks was $240 and then a $50 cash tip.

Friday after lunch we walked back over to MSS and the only machine open was the new one. I won on the machine but just hate the card display. At first glance, it's hard to tell what you have been dealt.

I'm starting to think this is turning into a good trip! My wife and I are on machines 4 & 5 at MSS. No picture but my wife holds 4 and gets a $1,000 Royal. Really turning into a nice trip.

Ok, we could go home tomorrow and I'd be a happy camper!

Saturday the plan was an early breakfast then go to the Cal sportsbook for the 9 AM Badger game. We had dinner reservations for Top of Binion's at 5:30. 10 AM and I have some extra cash so I start playing $2 vp and get this



The football game sucked! The Badgers were favored by 31 points and lost, but I'm doing pretty good. Still on $2 and 16 minutes later I get this for $1,600.



I am one really happy camper now! Started losing so I went back to dollars.



11 minutes later, I get this:



After the Royal I was feeling really lucky, so I switched to $5 VP. I got 4oak for $1,250.



So now back over to MSS and I get this

Adrenaline is pumping, but I'm still exhausted and a bit drunk, so that was the end of our gambling. Final numbers. My wife came home +$500 and I came home +$9,300. Except for winning a drawing at MSS for a trip to Hawaii 20 years ago, best gambling trip ever!!!

Bconned numbers Me almost all dollars and all of it DDB and my wife same card, all quarters on DDB. 1,840 points. My Tier Credits are now at 27,456. Bconned points now 444,918.

Here is picture of the progress on the new Raiders stadium. I would love to see a Packer game there, but since they just played them, that won't happen for at least 5 more years. Barring a Super Bowl matchup.

Back on Thanksgiving Day. I hope it's another trip like this one!! That was really, really fun!!

I emailed my nephew with my results and he said you have to go buy something special with the winnings to remember. I kind of did that two weeks prior to the trip. I ordered a 2020 Subaru Touring Outback.

Great trip on the gambling side at least. That was a horrible badger game. I think they all had there minds on Ohio state next week.

 

Wow... great trip… way to go Joe! Belated congratulations on your Anniversary too. May I suggest if you do visit the new stadium that you get one of those chains I see people wearing on their pants (remember I'm a Hard Rock guy) for your wallet, so we don't have a repeat of the Dallas debacle!

Well, make sure your eyes are sharp because you really should be playing these games instead since they're dollar 9/6 DDB! But you'll earn tier points 52% slower, meh. And honestly, I agree, they blew it with the small numbers.

Oh dang you're right. My eyes suck too! I thought the first one was DDB when I glanced. The Wizard of Odds said it was 9/6 DDB for dollars at Fremont. So MSS MIGHT be set the same way.

After the pickpocket incident in Dallas, I now have one of those mini-wallets in my front pocket and still carry a wallet, but nothing in there but tip money and players cards.

 

That is a hell of a VP trip. Congrats!!!!!!

 

I recall a trip where everything went south and how no one could sustain multiple such adventures. This just shows good guys don’t necessarily finish last. Sometimes a close 2nd. But the irs usually focuses on the front runner. Great trip!!

Someone reported to vpfree2.com a couple of weeks ago that the Aristocrat bartops have $1, $2 and $5 9/6 DDB and 8/5 BP at MSS, Cal, Fremont and Gold Coast.
