What year was your very first stay in a Las Vegas strip hotel and which hotel was it?

Tropicana. 1985. Parrots in the hallways carrying on conversations with passing guests as well as flamingos around and about.
Never experienced people with windex cleaning shiny areas around the casino before. And a person picking up trash between machines. Like a high end resort with servants that don’t necessarily serve but clean up after the legions. Nickel slots with 5 way payout—-across and diagonal. It was a quarter but what the hell..MAX BET!! I was hooked.

 

1990 stayed one night at Hacienda -- and then a few nights at Excalibur..

First trip 1989 and stayed at Harrah's when it still looked like a steam boat. Raised a family and did not go back untill 2004 for my divorce party at the Monte Carlo in December. This December will be my 15th divorce party trip. Still celebrating with about four other trips each year. I found my fun place.

 

May 1968 for honeymoon at Tropicana

 

2012 at the Mirage. I thought it would be a 1 time thing, just to see it and say I’ve been. My 7th trip is coming up next month.

1999 Imperial Palace. My wife wanted nothing to do with Las Vegas went with BIL SIL MIL AND FIL. Stayed in room with MIL and FIL. Cheap 2 nighter out of South Dakota. Father In Law hit a $1200 hand pay the last night and slept in a chair facing the door so no one would break in. 1 year later wife went some 42 trips later she can't wait for next trip.

 

Don't know the exact year, but it would have been between '00 and '04...New York, New York.

 

My first time staying on the Strip was also at NYNY... just 16 months ago. That was my third trip overall, and the first trip had been about four months earlier.

 

1988 at the original Aladdin.

 

1986 was my first visit to the Island of Las Vegas...

 

Sept 2007 at Mirage ..
I didn’t know nothing even what bj or craps are...
3 days package with the Blue man tickets at Venetian..
We have so much fun and misses our flt home...

 

2007 Flamingo. Almost stayed at Imperial Palace but decided on the place with the better pool.

 

July 1990 Mirage in all of its tropical glory!! Very first trip stayed at Showboat. That was forgettable.

 

1996, stayed at the Boardwalk for New Year's Eve and witnessed the implosion of the Hacienda. While that was nuts, it was nothing in comparison to the human apocalypse of NYE on the strip.

People throwing bottles (my friend got a piece of glass in his face), women dancing naked on top of bus shelters as other people are tearing them down. It was end times shit.

 

I think it was 1997 - stayed at Caesars Palace - they were building the Venetian at the time

 

2014 and stayed in a suite at mgm
