    My Trip Report

I have been posting here for quite some time, but have never done a full trip report. Just returned from another trip to Vegas (30 so far?) and figured it was time to write one. We have started doing downtown and like it there, but had some good offers on the strip for this time.

    Planet Hollywood
Was not on original trip plan, but after getting a $800 FP offer from CET we added a night and booked it. Only cost $60 to change our Southwest flights for the extra day. Have stayed at most CET hotels many times, but never here, so wanted something different. Basic room with strip view - nothing good or bad to write about PH other than no coffee maker. Did Diamond Lounge for dinner - lots of wings and good table service. Got hungry later and being Friday night, lots of lines for restaurants. Found bar seat at Gordon Ramsey being Diamond and skipping line, but was told 30 minutes for burger. Skipped that and went to Earl of Sandwich. Good, but way too much bread. Wife opted to get burger at Yolos Mexican Grill. BIG mistake. Even though it is right in the casino, they do not take points at all. And the burger sucked. We took both items to room and watched some TV and finished off wines we had brought up from Diamond Lounge earlier.

We did turn the $800 FP into a decent night, mostly VP. Eventually gave it back though.

    NYNY
We decided to walk there early on Saturday to see if our room was ready. (we had room at PHo for saturday as well) Checked into NYNY VIP Lounge and got some wine. He said room would be ready in a hour or so. No problem. Got a room number to charge food and hit Tom Urbans. Always good food there and we were able to sit right on the strip. Then walked back up to P-Ho by way of ParkMGM and Aria/Crystalls and got bags late afternoon, with Uber back to NYNY.

Then made a Uber run to the local dispensary for some gummies and vapes.

Walked up to CP and did dinner at Diamond Lounge, and then over to see LOVE . We have been to this show 10-15 times I guess and usually in lower levels. With a gummie and few smokes under our belt, we were ready to experience LOVE from different seats than most of our past visits. We were high up in section 209. Not sure if it was the pot, or the seats, but it seemed like a new show. We TOTALLY enjoyed it and considered staying for the 9:30 but had enough sense to not do that. Uber back to NYNY. Got some pizza and wine and sat in one of the "alley ways". NYNY theme is really cool. Played a few hours before calling it a night.

Sunday we took it slow and had coffee in room. We did get the 1BR suite at NYNY. Very strange layout, but it all works fine. Went down to the Italian Rest that has happy hour at bar starting at noon. $7 wine and half price apps and pizza. At least three wines later and a gummie found us about ready for a nap - which is rare for us in Vegas. As a result, our tickets to see "Tenors of Rock" back at PH never were used. Ate at the Burger Bar at NYNY - not thrilled with burger or fries. Okay -but will not visit again. Will never do afternoon gummies again. Did play late into the night - way too late.

Monday was another slow morning. Hit the bar for $7 wines at noon and apps again - it is pretty good. Went over to the shops near MGM and did not find anything worth buying. Wife was looking for some shoes. Returned to room and worked on bottle of wine we bought at Walgreens. Eventually went up to Harrahs via Uber and hit Diamond Lounge for light dinner and many wines, Scored Diamond Tickets to see Wayne Newton. As many have said, it is more of a time travel show with Mr Vegas himself. Turned out to be very worthwhile show. We walked back to NYNY, taking the tram from Bellagio over the Park MGM/Aria stop.

Tuesday we slept in and hit bar for drinks at 1pm before hitting Tom Urbans happy hour from 2-6 where every drink is half price and some good apps priced $5-$10 including sliders, wings, etc. Had late flight and headed to airport. Host had offered limo, but we find it easier to uber back to airport. Never quite sure exactly what time we will leave. Uber is quick, easy and cheaper than "free" limo.

Since we have AMEX Plat card, we went to lounge in D concourse to get a light meal and a few drinks. Watch some stuff on Ipad together before heading to gate with WN.

Since we have the SW card that gives 4 free upgrades per year, we did buy that for me. Boarded at a-5 and got the LUV seats (no window seat in that aisle). Wife boarded not too far behind and we scored those seats again. We have about an 80% success rate getting them.

    Overall, a great trip.

Music at NYNY on Sat and Sun night is REALLY loud. Did not care for it, but dealt with it. The overall theme makes staying there different. Mostly slots and VP players. Not a great trip in that regard, but losses were very minimal. Food/bev credit at NYNY pretty much covered our expenses there - other than tips.

Nice report! And the back of 209 is definitely a good place to sit. I wouldn't be surprised if the pot helped the show watching either. I've always thought that LOVE might be better when high. Lol

Sounds like a great trip. I stayed in that suite back when they were called the Ziggurat suites - it was a strange layout, but it was nice. I know they were renovated since then.

    Great report!

Yea... we both were ready to do that but between wine and gummie and nap we just did not have the energy. Bummer.
