Huskers game Saturday was amazing! I was shocked they turned it around and won. My Daughter is a junior at UNL and is 3rd year Huskers marching band member. Band traveled to the game in IL and cheered the players on! Go Big Red!

So Glad to hear how much fantastic progress you have made Mike! Your hard work is paying off. Prayers to you.

I agree with @Geogran and others, it is SO wonderful to hear you talking football Mike! Considering how dangerous this situation was, it really hasn't been that long at ALL, but you are making leaps and bounds!

Thank you and @rooster42000 for keeping us updated. Hearing you talk sports was one of the BEST updates you've shared!

Just don't try to tell @Breeze147 that In-and-Out makes a better burger than Five Guys, or you might get more excitement that you want!  (And don't come between @Chuck2009x 's travel Q-tips or cheese wiz!)

 

You sound vastly improved, Mike. Pretty soon we will be discussing Sucession trivia. That show is picking up steam.

Hi Rooster. Sorry I’m late getting back to you but I had a bit of a setback this weekend. Super tired since Thursday. Sleeping off and on for about fifteen hrs a day. Not eating a whole lot either. Going to see doc on Tuesday so I’ll definitely ask her what’s going on. When I’m awake I feel fine except for being extremely sleepy. Still doing exercises with my hand and they’re going well and getting better.
Thanks for checking in with me and hope you had a great weekend!! Brutal sports weekend for me. Packers, ‘Huskers and Brewers flamed out big time. Patriots won a close one so there is that.

I’ll touch base with you after I see my doc on Tuesday. Hope all is well with you down south. Looks like we might get out of this hurricane season unscathed....hope I didn’t just jinx the entire east and gulf coasts....lol.

Hi Rooster, what’s up? Hope all is well.
Saw the doc(s) today and had a full neuro work up with CT & MRI scans to boot. Neurologists said my exam went real well. I talked to them about my right hand and they said there’s been lots of improvement and to just keep doing what I’m doing and I should get back to 100% in 3-6 months. Told them about excessive sleeping and virtually no appetite. They told me the sleep thing is common with head trauma and for me to listen to the signals my body is giving me and get all the guilt free sleep I need. They did stress that I need to eat so I’m going on a regimen of two small home made fruit smoothies along with a can of tuna for some protein. She said loss of appetite can linger off and on as a concussion symptom for months. My concussion was in April so I guess I’ll just have to take her word for it. I get the results from the scans on Friday. Considering where I was in mid July I reckon I’m pretty fortunate as to my state now.

Good docs and good friends are a blessing. I’ve received dozens of PMs, emails, voice messages and texts from dozens of VMBers and it’s been difficult keeping up with getting back to everyone but please tell the VMB gang that I’m not taking them for granted and I promise to return every message. Their encouragement along with all the good vibes sent my way have certainly picked up my spirits on some pretty lousy days over the past two and a half months.

Spirits are sky high. However, after digging in and doing research on cosmetic surgery to take care of the surgery scar on my head I’m amazed at how expensive it is. Still, I gotta get it done, and well, I can’t be out and about looking like I got in a knife fight or a sword duel. LOL.

Well, Rooster, that’s all the news for now. I’ll get ahold of you this weekend after I get my scan results back and we can chat a little football.

Hi Rooster,
Just got back from doc and my scan results from last week are all good. No bleeding, bruising or swelling. The coil is holding and working out well. Right hand is giving me fits though. Some days it shakes so bad I can’t even hold a glass of water without making a mess of things. Doc insists it will get better. Still sleeping a lot but I am eating a little bit better. Taste buds are coming back too. Other than my hand I’m pleased with my rehab. Doc is going to get a specialist to work with me on my hand if it doesn’t get better within the next month.

Yeah, grrreat weekend for me with football. ‘Huskers, Badgers, Packers and Patriots all won.

Hope you had a great weekend. Thanks for staying in touch and hoping we can meet up in Vegas sometime. Drinks and dinner are on me!!

Hi VMBers,

I just wanted to take a moment and give everyone here my most heartfelt thanks for all the kind comments, positive energy and incredible support.

I'm doing a lot, lot better but still have a bit to go. No complaints though, things are definitely on the upswing.

This is my first time looking at VMB since July. Serious VMB withdrawals here....a whole helluva lot to catch up on. All I've really done here the past few months is stay in touch with @rooster42000, via PM, who has been so nice in keeping touch with me on a regular basis, and keeping up with the very thoughtful PMs that so many of you have sent me.

Thanks again gang; I truly appreciate all of your goodwill .
