I changed hosts at the Plaza with no known repercussions. While my host was okay, I found that a different host that I had to go to while my host was on vacay was better for ME. We got along well and she seemed to understand my needs better. My old host ended up moving back to DTG, where he is currently along with Curt - formerly of the Plaza. I would say when you change hosts that you take the care to be sensitive. Explain why your current host isn't a good fit and maybe introduce yourself to others and find out if they are what you're looking for. I would say number one, though, is that you must have play that "back ups" the need to get better/different/extra service.

I also realize that when I email my host with requests for the future that I am not a priority. Guests on property will ALWAYS trump anyone else (barring a whale, of course). I want her to do that. When I'm on property it damn well better be all about me! :D

    If they played.
    If they used their card.
If the host even had their numbers and related it to you.
    and
If the pit critter even rated your play, or rated it correctly.

    Lot of "ifs".

trust me I have been in the same boat. I used to to email hosts at every property saying I'm a gambler and what to expect. Hosts see emails like that everyday so its tough to back it up and especially with friends who "play".

I was told on this forum you can't do that. You stay with the host you have been using. My host is at PH, some place I do not stay. I wanted to switch to a host at CP, a place we stay at mostly. It was said I had to ask my host for permission.

I can only speak to host change requests that my friend has experienced. She has had the same host for 5 or 6 years and he never gets back to her when she emails him other than sending her a confirmation that he booked her offer. No answer to her questions, no effort to be cordial, and any request she has made beyond the offer was no he couldn’t help her. She called VIP several times to ask for a different host and was told unless her host agreed, they could not switch her. She asked me to speak to my host if there was anyway to get a new host, my host told me that very rarely would they switch a host unless that host agreed, or if there was a complaint that merited the change, and not “I just don’t like my host”. She also told me that hosts don’t like to be put in the middleman position since it can affect their working relationship within the team.

My friends solution? She just no longer contacts her host and calls VIP reservations.

So if there is a serious complaint you should talk to your host, and then request to speak to the hosts boss who is the one to make those decisions. I too am surprised you have a host based on your stated level of play; although I don’t play downtown much which may have totally different requirements than the strip.

Have you heard the saying it's a buyer's market or a seller's market???
Well, it is currently a host's market meaning Vegas is getting so many people the hosts can focus on top tier players and pretty much ignore lower tier and even mid tier players.

Actually, I think alot of this is really the level of players. Everyone wants or thinks they not only deserve a host, but figure they should be getting all kinds of comps.

I get suites and a few hundred in play and food/bev and sometimes show tickets. BUT - I still do not get anything more than the offers that come out which I can book on my own.

I do email hosts on some offers and they book exactly what has already been offered.

I am guessing hosts get a ton of folks wanting "stuff" that they are not going to get due to their level of play.

Again I don't enlist the services of a host because I believe I don't play enough to warrant one. But the corporate offers that roll in is often times quite generous.

Sometimes I feel like playing more. And there are times I don't feel like playing much. I just play the way I want and take whatever comps, if any, that come my way.

I'm quite sure the host helped you out based on you coming with a group.

If you had match plays or other items he promised in writing/email, it was on you to follow up with him if those things weren't waiting for you. Same with the unanswered questions.

You gave him an idea of your action(which individually was low)and only met 3/4ths of it.

I think you did well getting casino rates for the rooms, comp'd resort fees, and limo.

On your own, you probably don't actually have a host.

And as others have said, trying to book now for March is quite far out. And expecting much of anything for a popular time like March Madness, even with your group, is extremely optimistic based on your play.

My host for Caesars is based out of PH as well, or at least used to be. I wonder if that is where the majority of their hosts’ are based.

Did they move the host office? It used to be outside the High Roller pit. At least that's where I always met my host when he was at CP.

Changing hosts at CZR is tougher than MLife.
I have changed hosts at 2 different MLife properties with no repercussions and no difficulty.
At Caesars I had an outside rep who could not be eliminated.
    PH could not change.
Not sure how it is Downtown except each hotel will have their own rules.

So I asked Caesars about switching hosts from the guy at PH where we do not stay to one at CP where we do stay and got this,

Thank you for contacting Caesars Palace. It is my pleasure to assist you with your Host inquiry. Regretfully, at this time you do not qualify for a Host at Caesars Palace. However, please know that the host you are assigned to can assist you with all Las Vegas properties. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Interesting, got an e-mail from a Executive Casino saying he was my new host giving me his cell, work number and a couple of e-mails to get a hold of him. Did CP tell on me to my old host?
