How much do you tip your Uber/Lyft driver? We've been doing $10 on a $20 fair. Is that too much or would $5 be ok?

5 is good . A lot of people don't tip at all . that is why taxis take your money ,

A 50% tip is very generous. For Lyft/Uber I typically do from 0-20%, based on various factors. (For example did they help load/unload luggage).

$10 on a $20 is way too much, in my humble opinion. I’d probably tip $3-$5 depending on the service, leaning towards $4 or $5.

I know 2 uber/lift drivers, they say that approx 1/2 of riders tip, so half dont.

The amount is completely up to you, your $10 tip is very generous, if you're fine with it, dont less us talk you down.

Last one I took the driver wouldn't even accept a tip. I have no idea why.

Tip what you are comfortable with if the service you receive warrants it.

Personally, I tip up to $5 depending on several factors which is typically 20-25% of the fare.

I like to overtip just because of cab memories.
Most of my uber drivers have been way more pleasant.
Also like to come in town overtipping to try and get that karma up.
Why stop now? Everyone's gotta eat.

Tips can all be done in the app.

A few years ago, they did not offer that option, but now they do.

When I first started with Uber they were telling drivers not to accept cash tips. Yeah right, like was not gonna accept one. I guess that driver was doing what Uber was telling drivers to do.

$3 for lower ($10-$12) fares and $5 for higher ones. I suppose if I got in the $40 range I might get closer to $10, but I generally do not take Ubers such long distances.

Only time we used Lyft or Uber were for $8-$15 fares. Tip $2.

You all tip on Uber? I'm a generous tipper for most things, but, I don't tip on Uber unless it's one of the rare occasions I ask the driver to stop in a gas station for something. That's how it's supposed to be. One of the big things about Uber when it started was you didn't have to tip, it was a flat price. That's one of the big reasons the app was so popular. As of right now the driver's won't know if they were tipped until they rate you as a passenger. Hopefully that system never changes or Uber will become just as expensive a taxi.

To/From the airport, I give them $5 (usually a $5 bill instead of thru the app). Casino to casino $2 - $3, depending on service, distance, etc. Sometimes more if they are friendly and talkative.

Yes, because they are providing a valued service (generally DUI prevention for me), I can afford it, and they make very little money. We live in a society, man! :D

The Uber model opened sans tipping but that has changed. Dude, if you don't want to tip, don't tip. If someone wants to tip, don't sweat it.
