I totally agree. Flying once a year - not worth the bother.

Wow - somebody had a bad day. We do not know the whole story. What is the TV station going to do? Maybe get somebody fired?

Sorry - but there are way more important things to deal with than what may or may not have been an issue.

I would never pay for pre-check. Like Breeze, I don't go often enough any more to make it worth the money. I have gotten it randomly from the airlines and it was nice, but not worth paying for.

Wow...sounds like a real PITA... when I got my "pre-check" KT#, I pre-registered & paid on-line and scheduled my appointment on-line with a TSA office about two blocks from my regular sports bar. Went in...took about 5 minutes & I had my KT number in my e-mail less than 48 hours later.
(I did have to provide a state-issued birth certificate, but fortunately, I already had that.)
I think it was only $60 for 5 years (or something like that).
I consider it well-worth the price....especially when leaving Vegas.

The last 2 times I've flown, the tickets printed out 'TSA PreCheck'. I've never applied for anything, but I enjoyed skipping the big line and leaving my shoes on. They must like me.

Yes, I probably should not have suggested that without knowing more about the circumstances.

Love that analogy Breeze. Good to see you haven't lost that sense of humor.

We're in the system with Real ID, but PreCheck basically lets you go through a much easier security process (don't have to take shoes off, don't have to take stuff out of your bag, etc.). If you travel once a year then it's probably not worth it. But given that it's $100 for five years, it's not a huge cost for the level of convenience. Here in Vegas, I get from the curb to the gate in 15-20 minutes; at places that don't have a whole tram situation or aren't football fields long (looking at you, JFK...) it can be worth it.

@Breeze147 if you happen to change your mind Identogo has offices for TSA pre-check in some of the Staples stores. This article says there are Identogo offices at 50 Staples stores. According to the Identego Website there is one at the Staples Store in Waldorf. The article is from 2018. I don't think you have to be limited to the DOT offices. I'd rather have a root canal than deal with a big town drivers license office.

Here is identogo website if anyone is interested - seems like it will be less of a headache.

I went to a Staples to get my TSA pre-check. Fast and easy. When I renewed my DL the State made me go through the hassle of getting their birth certificate because they apparently didn't like the other two I had either, so I had that out of the way.

Thank you, Val. It doesn’t matter where I go in Waldorf, the results would more than likely be the same. I am not of the right demographic to do business in Waldorf, which is why I stayed away from there for 15 years.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out.

I got my KTN at a Staples as well. And now, I have to get a new DL to travel by plane, Getting nuts to travel anymore! In fact, it's rapidly approaching the point where it's not worth the hassle anymore!

I can’t answer that question on this forum. It would be against the rules.

It really isn’t worth the hassle anymore. More and more I am thinking that driving to Baltimore or Atlantic City would be just as good as Las Vegas.
