I took these pics last night while drunk and forgot about them till now lol, while im also drunk

anyway, some renovations before they start the major renovations including the new Hotel that will start in june are looking linq inspired

they are taking the decorated columns out and replacing them with video screens, none fully working yet but they are replacing all the ones between the valet and hoodoo by winners cove

will do, from what im hearing is that come June Valet will be shut down at the casino and possibly moved across the street to the hilton so that they can get started on building the new Hotel tower on top of the casino...My guess is they are knocking out the small stuff while they can like the columns and lighting...take pics when you come because a lot is soon to change

I sometimes get customer surveys for Harrah’s New Orleans. I always take time to fill them out. Some parts of the casino are nice, while other parts are in desperate need of TLC. Next time you are there look at the grime on top of the awning above the poker room bar. It’s gross. The wall coverings and posters throughout the poker room are at LEAST 14 years old. The bathrooms are plain nasty.

On the other hand, the poker room upgraded all of their chairs, and the staff has always been pretty good to really great.

Ya, the grime on the awning is ridiculous LOL.

I played some poker there last month. Not sure what they did for renovations but the chairs were definitely upgraded. Tables all have USB chargers. Everything else looked the same. Those WSOP posters are ancient!

OP... pro tip for the poker room: a sushi joint across the street will deliver to you right at the table. There should be some menus laying around. When you call them you tell them what table you are sitting at. The food is decent.

I walked by the poker room after a restroom break earlier...the awning which Ive never looked at to begin with, lol. was clean, however it is faded and from across the poker room with the lights, it reflects light off and hard to see...have they cleaned it since lat you have seen it. possibly...does it need to be changed, its faded in may spots so Id say so but it wasnt grimy today when I looked at it

as for these new columns, I was hoping for a lil linq inspired video columns if they are going to go the route it looks like...however, they are adding Tvs to the tops which is good to catch sports while walking through, it seems they are just color changing columns...

a HUGE SWING and a MISS if you ask me...now maybe they are not 100% finished and things can change but I think they are basically only going to do what you see here in this short video

thanks... I had been wondering exactly where that new hotel tower was going to be. I would think they could find another valet area near one of the other entrances vs across the street.. but what do I know? (very little according to my wife!).

Next June is still a ways off.

They can set up something at a few different spots and things can and will change between now and June. you enter Valet at Canal street and exit at Convention Center BLVD but if they dont keep you up top, the valet garage storage is a parking garage under the casino which they drive your vehicle around to the other side of the casino and enter/exit at S. Peters and Gravier...

we will see what happens come June

as for the Hotel it will be directly above the Valet Canopy and to my understanding it will cover a small porting of the casino. check-i will be done on the 2nd floor

Thanks for grabbing some pictures! I agree things are definitely improved. The glass is a huge improvement. It’s definitely a good poker room for the regs and the tourists.

I don’t think the canopy is faded... I think the original colors were bright, with green and red coloring. That’s 14 years of grime, dust, and old smoke (from when they used to allow it).

Those WSOP are 13-15 years old.

lol, it defiantly looks faded in person, if you move around the light shines off of it which im pretty sure grime wont allow, lol but in a few places where there should be patterns on it,its just black

no clue about the WSOP things, I guess if it fits, it sits

Champster1 is coming in this week, we'll get his opinion lol

I google searched real quick and found a pic of it dirty, just from this picture, I can tell you it 100% doesnt look like this today, but it could be replaced

That’s a great picture. Dirty or just faded, it definitely needs to be replaced. A new purple/green/gold canopy would rule and would cost Harrah’s just a few peanuts.

@Champster1 - good luck on your trip! Is this your first trip to New Orleans *ever*?!?
