I will in downtown Vegas starting October 11. I was just about to start a new thread about what the buskers and beggars were like nowadays. I like looking at all the crazies but the beggars were getting to aggressive last time I was out there. I was about 10 seconds from going to jail until a friend grabbed me by my shirt and pulled.

when the beggars start talking shit it really pisses me off.
one guy was asking me for money one night after we chatted for a while and I told him no. he then turned angry and made a remark about my $400 sneakers.
LMAO. I have never paid more than a $100 for sneakers, not even close. I have worked 2 jobs all of my life, so IF I want to spend my money like that, it is none of his business.

I was downtown 2 weeks ago.

One thing I noticed, many people just take selfies or take pictures with their phone but they don't tip the girl. I stayed and watched, there were a number of people that took pictures of the girl but didn't tip her. One guy came right up to the girl and tried to take a selfie with her. The girl asked for a tip upfront (too many people taking freebies) but the guy refused to tip even though he still wanted to take a picture of her. After that the girl just turned away whenever she saw the guy trying to take a picture of her.

But one thing I noticed this time, there were more male performers wearing very little. I also saw that guy with the g string who grosses me out (seeing him hanging out - butt and the other thing). I watched for about 5 minutes (not the guy that grosses me out but the other guys) and I didn't see anyone tipping these guys.

Saw the 2 topless nuns. Also saw 1 topless showgirl. And I saw a topless lady, I swear she was probably in her 70's or 80's. It wasn't a pretty sight. Note that these girls were wearing pasties.

maybe all of this gross shit is a ploy to drive us back into the casinos to lose money. after running to the toilet to puke.
the casinos are subsidizing all of the gross freaks.

I'm a nobody and people here don't want to hear what I think!!! So fare warning if you read on.

Starting back in '06 (my first trip out) Vegas has done nothing but nose dive.
I have and now understand the: "Vegas isn't like the old days." Yes times change, but it is def. not for the good!!!!
The last 3 trips were mostly Downtown....all in the last year and a half. But it's sad to say that I prefer to walk the sketchy side streets of downtown to avoid FSE, knowing it seems safer at the same time (esp. between 1-3am)
It's sad you have cover your ass in the land of adult playground these days to enjoy a token high and good drunken time. At this moment I have zero desire to go back.
I'm not participating in the annual March Madness trip or any Birthday trips this coming year or in the future.....essentially Vegas is dead to me.... As far as gambling I have better games/odds at my local.

I barely caught the end of the good times (Sahara, Frontier, and :bows head: Stardust) now it is all nickel & diming, not being welcomed, and no appreciated value. This really isn't the message they should be sending.... I'm only 40 years old!!
At some point people like me are going to see reality and think the same way. Vegas won't know what to do with it's self! Yes I have NO desire to ever go back ..... but I do miss the "real Vegas" before decisions were made by accountants. I'm too young to have any knowledge of the mob or shady dealings, but from the great books I've read... they had a plan, a mindset (to make people feel important), and it worked!!! If only I was around 30 years earlier to experience it all!

This might be my last post for a year or more or ever and it won't make a bit a difference. I just feel bad for all the "Vegas Fanatics" that are slowly heading in the same direction in denial, especially not wanting to lose their great Vegas experiences and memories to the past. I wish it never came to this but I was never given the chance to have a say. I wish everyone the best and hope Vegas keeps giving you every thing you are looking for!!

    All the Best....

I still love Vegas. I get excited booking a new trip, counting down the days till the day arrives, when I can get on that plane and head to my favorite place in the world. I know that certain aspects of Vegas have gotten worse, but really, is there any other place like it? I say no way!! As far as nickel and diming, that happens everywhere you travel to these days, not only Vegas. Resort fees, parking fees are in every major city now, at least where I have gone recently. And there are some silly characters on Fremont Street, but so what? I just walk by, laugh it off and enjoy myself in the greatest city in the world!! Where else can you eat in the finest restaurants, see fabulous shows and entertainment, gamble, drink and have a good time with people from every city and country in the world? All coming together to Vegas for one goal, and that is to have fun and forget about the everyday grind of home. As long as I am still able to, I will still be excited as ever to visit Las Vegas!! Viva Las Vegas everyone!!:drunk:
