Was just there and saw nothing going on in the casino. I know soon if not now Ruth Chris will be closed for a remodel.

I have stayed in a Valley Tower room twice, last time was last month July 21-23. The Mardi Gras tower soon to be Mountain Tower is completely closed til the end of the year I was told by the Front Desk agent. She told me they will pretty much look the same as Valley Tower rooms and because of complaints on the lack of the shower door, they are redoing those in the new remodel. She didn't say if the VT would be getting them as well.

And yes, there is a coffee maker in the room, no fridge though.

Another thing, I've stayed in both a one King and a two queen room and they're both layed out a little different. In the King, you get two small closets on both sides of the bed. In the queen room, the closet is in the hallway by the bathroom and the sliding door either closes off the bathroom or the closet.

Casino refurb and hotel refurb are often not related at all.

I just got back yesterday from a stay at Harrah's.
There is an area blocked off for construction back by the starbucks near hotel check in (I assume that is the Mardi Gras Tower?) but I never actually saw anyone working.
Someone posted earlier on the website that if you are at Harrahs to check the casino app for a free Ice Cream.. When I was there this offer did come up on my app. the offer was called "Pardon our Dust"

Ruth Chris's steakhouse was closed for renovations as well.
The room was ok.. nothing "wrong" with it but I honestly will not be staying there again. It felt Small and unimpressive for a renovated room. I would much rather stay in a "Go" room at the flamingo if I want to be in that area and similar room range.

The casino itself had everything I need.. (lots of VP machines, wide range of table games at reasonable rates for the strip, lots of slots options and a poker room, decent location). I was really hoping I would like the room better

That is great news about the shower in the new Mountain rooms. We did not like the half shower door in the Valley rooms and also lack of towel bars. I cant remember but were the Mardi Gras rooms the same size as Valley or smaller? We will be there in Feb 2020. Just got home from staying in a GO room at the Flamingo and that is a nice shower.

Stayed in the Valley Tower almost 2 years ago and it was very nice. I also love the casino and location. Once all the rooms are renovated I won't hesitate to stay there anytime.

Is the Mardi Gras tower renovation now complete? On Harrah's own website, they no longer list "Valley" tower as a room option, when choosing any future stay dates. All non-suite room types come up as "Deluxe Room" types. Same thing when I tried on a third party site (Hotels.com).

I tried to call Harrah's directly, and of course, you get a call center, and not someone actually at the hotel. Finally got a hold of someone who claimed she was at the front desk, yet she knew NOTHING about the "deluxe" room category?! She said the Mardi Gras tower was not done yet. Anyone actually been there recently, or have a host there they can reach out to?

Appears to me they are making the rooms the same and calling them all "Deluxe," and which tower you get will depend on when you check in and what you request and/or are assigned?

Had a remodeled room on my June trip. The half shower door seems to be standard these days. Keeps one side warm and one side cold.

    Gotta win this trip.

Their website is still not showing a Valley tower choice. This is from choosing a one night stay on November 4th....

Weren't the sliding doors part of the new rooms? I don't see why those would be gone?

So why have they removed the Valley tower as a room selection option? Or did they just rename all rooms to Deluxe?

(Bumping this thread up.) Anyone have any recent information on this? Their official website still shows all non-suite rooms as "Deluxe Room" with various options. (Same thing on third party hotel booking sites.) Still no tower choice. They even have Deluxe rooms with one queen size bed!? Usually if a room has one bed, it would be a king size. I wonder if these one queens are in the old Mardi Gras tower, so it leaves more space in the room?

The below article has some information and photos, from within the past thirty days. If the old Mardi Gras tower is still closed though, it still does not make sense why they removed "Valley Tower" from the room choices.

when we were there last week i was told since there is only the valley tower open, they don't offer a choice other than room types....i scored an upgrade to a suite
    20190911_153056.jpg

when you enter from the drop off there is a plastic sheet over the door to the vip check in on the right and a sign that says pardon our dust...

a couple areas in the lower part of the casino had areas taped off

a couple days later one of them was open again.... looks like they are changing the carpet piece meal

Stayed in an Executive Suite last month. Check in looks bad but the renovation is progress nicely. Friendly employees. Loved the suite. Terrific deal for the money. Their rooms punch above their price class. Only thing I didn't like about the suite was the lack of shower door. I also prefer mini shampoo bottles vs the wall mounted dispenser.

The driveway to Valet is terrible. Other than that I very much enjoyed my stay.
