Now, I'll have to ask Housekeeping for paper and pen to write "Housekeeping, thanks for the clean room. Bob". I like to write the note and place it on top of the tip.

    Gotta win this trip.

Good grief, they are cutting back on everything. Next you will have to BYOB - Bring Your Own Bed when they cut out putting beds in the rooms.

You mean you don’t like the bedside phone docks with the 30 pin iPhone connector that hasn’t been I use for years. Also see the USB ports on the bedside table that would take 30 days to charge your phone.

International plug sockets is the one thing I always want in the US, 2 pin sockets are a nightmare for actually holding a travel adapter without it falling out.

    I like the note pads.
I was surprised to find stationery in the drawer at the GG a few weeks ago. now that's old school.
2 sheets of paper and 2 envelopes. A nice touch I guess, since the rooms are so basic.

I stand corrected in trying to post in a hurry. They all seem to accept the USB, but I've never been "allowed" to use the input. I want my porn from my iPad in big, beautiful 55" HD, dammit!

Check the sports books for souvenir pens. I think the MGM properties still have them there.

Just back from a stay at Harrahs in Iowa had pen and notepad, pad had a new Caesers logo on it. For those that like the soap, shampoo and whatever enjoy it now. ll places will soon be going to wall mounted dispensers.

Cutting corners baby!! since these items are usually taken by the guests, they are constantly being replaced, and that does add up................

This is not limited to Caesars -- I travel a lot for work, and have stayed in several hotels in several cities recently where there was no pen/paper in the room. I always carry a notebook with me for things I want to write down, but it's still annoying to not have something sitting on the nightstand.

I gave to believe this is a housekeeping issue. There can not be an executive that would say we can save $0.50 a week per room if we don’t put a pen and pad of paper in them.

    Well maybe there could.

They're going to have to increase the resort fee for the new Green Hold the Stationary Amenity.

$0.50 per week per room works out to $78,000 per year for a hotel with 3,000 rooms.

That decision may piss off a percentage of guests. But almost no one is saying “I won’t stay here because a pen and notepad aren’t included”. So if they can pay a couple of full-time salaries by quietly removing one amenity, that probably makes sense in the minds of some accountants.

The Hard Rock in AC has Chromecasts built into their TVs. Great for late night wind downs and light gambling/getaway trips.

On my last two stays at Caesar's Palace, my Palace suite in April did not have them, but my Augustus room in June did. My room at Paris in July I think did not but I believe I swiped a pen from Le Diamond Registration. I just stayed at Harrah's Cherokee Wednesday night and did have them there. Seems inconsistent but not totally a thing of the past, at least yet.

Agreed and my guess is a very, very minuscule percentage.
