PVD also sounds like it could stand for something you bring home with you from Vegas....

Also I'm sorry that it wont help, but the only way I can get over it IS to book or atleast plan for my next trip. :woot:

I have a tolerable life. Vegas is an escape like going through a rough day and having a wonderful dream. My life is still good upon waking and my life is good upon return. But vegas is the high....life goes on. The depression is probably overcome by having a few as if nothing ever happened. And then planning the next trip.
Don’t make it a downer after a wonderful high, make it an escape and you come back to reality in order to finance your next escape.

Just from reading the title I thought Book another Trip (BaT).
Or you could just hang out on VMB and live through others.

    But you should really BaT!

Plan something fun. If not a trip, then a weekend activity. Give yourself something to look forward to

I come here to read trip reports and general Vegas news. I'm currently suffering from Pre Vegas Depression, since we don't know when we will be able to get back. We have hotel accommodation booked for the month of October, but it's looking unlikely that we will make that trip. Not knowing is probably as bad as not having a trip to look forward to at all!

I wish we could. Coming from the UK our trips are already few and far between. We have Florida/Miami pencilled in for Summer 2019 so we would be looking at 2020 before our next trip. Hence the depression :D

For now I’ll continue to trawl VMB and watch the Vegas Poker Vloggers I subscribe too and see what comes up I guess:cry:

I love being here in San Francisco. Usually I'm actually jonesing for home by Vegas fly-out day. Vegas for me is more of a rut-buster; I've led a pretty predictable, stable life for the last 6 years so the 3 or 4 five-day trips a year just break up the monotony and give me something to look forward to and obsess about.

Short answer, no PVD. I know another Vegas trip is always just a few months away.

Can't say as I've ever had a does of PVD. How-ev-ah, there was that time me, Chuck, Bob and Doug took some R&R from Second Division and....

The odd thing about Vegas, for us, is that we like it. But it's no longer wide-eyed-wonder. I think that's because it ain't closing any time soon. It'll be there next time we need it.

Haha, usually when we've returned from out last 5-6 trips we head straight to the local for the weekend without coming home first. We like out trips to arrive Thursday or Friday and arrive home Thursday or Friday. So our trip to the local ends up either being 2 or 3 nights depending on return. Yeah, we're sick like that!!! LOL

I think it's a lot harder on us once-a-year visitors and east-coasters. I'm envious of you folks out west who can get your fix with a quick 2-night getaway!

I deal with post depression by looking at the picks I take. Remaining grateful that I earn a good enough living that I can even go in the first place. Most of all I keep in mind that my next trip is only a few clicks away on the computer.

Just less than 24 hours ago I was in front of a video poker machine. In less than 24 hours from now it'll be back to the same old daily grind.

So how does everyone deal with "PVTD"? I usually have ''PVTD'' for about a week or so after returning home from the promised land even if I come home with more money (less money for me this trip :() I'm already thinking about my next trip so that helps a little.

I’m a menu reader, Yelp helps. I scan the menus of restaurants I didn’t get to hit on my last trip and plan accordingly. Last trip I was too “drunked out” to order another drink, but I really regret not getting the cherry blossom martini at blossom so now that’s at the top of my next trip list.

I receive comped rooms at some of my local casinos, so an overnighter or even a day trip every now and then in-between Vegas trips can help with PVD. I actually don't suffer from PVD as bad as I did back in the early days when Vegas was still new to me. Also when I think about how the casinos are nickel and diming us to death with one fee after the other, it can help, but that can cause other forms of depression too.:D

I also like traveling to other places besides Vegas during the year, so that keeps me occupied and I look forward to those trips as much as planning for another Vegas adventure.

I think maybe my first 15 trips to Vegas I would have PVD. Now after four days I am ready to go home, NO PVD. But, I do start planning the next trip.
