To be fair, AC has a much more "real" winter.

I think it's worth noting that Marquee used to put a dome up over the winter so they could keep the dayclub running, but I believe have stopped doing it, presumably because it wasn't making them money. I'm also not sure how sustainable KAOS is going to be longer-term, because from everything I've heard, they've benefited from the new place with the popular (and really pricey) DJs, but it's not clear they can keep that going.

If you follow Vital Vegas on Twitter, he makes it seem like this place will be closed rather soon.

Like if you read it as doomed venue.

This is the #1 things I like about Harrah's AC actually.

Anyone know if one will be able to get into this pool at the Palms as a non-hotel guest? I'd certainly be into checking it out when I'm in town in January, but don't want to have to stay at the Palms for one night just to try it.

Currently non-guests are allowed into the venue for a cover charge. I would assume this will continue to be the case. If you go please give us a review...thanks.

I’m going in early December, am tempted to check it out. Always annoys me having to go in December and not being able to chill by a pool.

Well I can ‘chill’ but you know what I mean

Ive read good things about the night club, so if they are the only one doing this then hopefully in the end it will be worth it for them. My only fear is that, palms was hot my first vegas trip, 10? years ago? Now who the hell needs to go off strip to party? Its just a hassle. True, if marquee stopped the dome then they have the only winter pool party.......

I really hope this dome is retractable. It sucks to be at a pool on a beautiful May day, with the sun out, and have a dome over you (Harrahs AC comes to mind). This is a revenue move for the Palms, and a good one, as Cosmo does the same thing with their pool during the winter. Again, I just hope it's retractable.

I am almost certain there is a fee, but it's only $10.

From the second link "The resort will keep the structure in place through March, then Kaos Dome comes down for a traditional summer season. If the party crowd loves the Dome, it will be back up in the fall of 2020."

It may be, but that is not what this dome is for.

It is a DJ pool party, and people will be in water, but there won't be much or any swimming.

I hear what you're saying but is there a lot of swimming now at many of the pools? Gaggles pictures of the Flamingo pool is nothing but a party, and I'm not sure they have a DJ...but you're right, this will be a party scene, and I bet it's a draw...only show in town.

I hear you but you can't have a DJ and party 24/7. I'm sure you will be able to go during a weekday have a couple drinks and swim. For a local like me that would be nice.

General rule, don't put your face under the water at any strip pool. Don't swim, just frolic.

Just spoke to Palms, they confirmed a non-hotel guest can go in just to swim for a $25 to $35 admission fee depending on the day, for days on which there is no DJ/performance (on such days, the fee will usually be higher).

It would definitely be nice to swim in a non-spa pool in Vegas during the winter!

the Tropicana used to, or still does, have a pool that was half covered and half open. it wasn't a bad set-up.
it has been may years since I stayed there, so who knows what they have now.
