Plaza Bingo

Greetings -

Hubby and I plan to play Bingo at the Plaza on our next trip and have a few questions. I’ve read the info on their website still have blanks in my vast understanding of the game.

We plan to do the electronic version, so when they have the in-between/extra games, are those on paper? Do we have to buy daubers if that’s the case?

What’s the minimum $ we can spend if we want to play everything that’s available during a session? Assume we’re beginners (which we are) and if you have any helpful advise, please fire away!

P.S. is there any session time (or day of the week) that’s less popular than the others?

@PrincessaMyron I'll take a stab at your questions. I began playing Bingo there I think at the tail end of last year. Not that I'm an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought they were really a well-run organization and everyone was very friendly and patient.

The "in-between/extra games are also on the electronic version. You have to pay the dreaded "$3" electronic fee, so you might as well get it all electronically imo.
Absolutely no daubers needed unless you want to play via paper. I like the electronic version and typically bring a snack and enjoy their complimentary soda, coffee and water. I also believe you are entitled to 2 cocktails, but I'm not 100% certain as I don't drink.

There's probably a cheaper way, but if you did the cheapest "special" at $28 + 2 "special" games at $2 each that would equate to $32. That's probably the best for the least amount of initial output of $$.

I have found that the first session at 11 am and the last at 9 pm seem to be the least populated. The only times I have ever bingo'd have been in the 11 am sessions which, btw, have free donuts! I personally never buy the "cash" ball. I found it was so hard to bingo in the first place that it wasn't worth my $$ for that one in a million chance. shrug. I have played about 15 or so sessions and I've had a Bingo about 75% of the time.

Just as an example - I typically play Package #5 and I spend another $10 on extra games. That costs $99, but I always have a $25 Bingo Match Play, so that comes down to $49. That's a price I'm comfortable with for a solid hour's entertainment.

I have never done Super Bingo and never will, but many folks seem to have had a good time...just too damn crowded for this loner.

Tee hit alot of great points....I would add that they have printed pamphlets by the bingo room door that describe the different packages and payouts. Stop by and get one prior to your session and see what you want to play. The workers are VERY helpful with newbies.

 

We went at 11am...me, hubby and our friend. Hubby won $60 and we still agreed it just wasn’t our thing!

 

I tried bingo once at Sam’s Town. Wasn’t my thing either. At least now you know.

 

I've played Bingo at the Plaza about 5 times. One time my friend won $240, last time I won $120. We played electronically.

In July, I noticed a small kiosk outside the bingo hall. I swiped my card and received $25 off! Plus a free slice of pizza from the place on the casino floor. My pkg. is usually about $50 but this time it was 1/2. A pretty good deal! So swipe if the kiosk is there.
No daubers needed, just sit back & people watch. The machine will sing to you if you are a winner!

Also, there is free soda & coffee. I go to the 1pm session.

It is a little boring, but I know I would spend more than $50 on the slots and so to me, it is worth it to just sit for awhile. ( about 1 hr. )

I agree, the help is very nice to those new to the game.

ALWAYS BUY THE HOT BALL!!!!! The Cash ball I buy it but I am on the fence. I have seen it won twice in the last year while playing for $10k both times.

It is not as hard to win as you might think and if you win it once you have essentially paid for it for the next few years. Pookie has won the cash ball 2 of out 3 ($1600 and $1175) of our last trips and I have won it once last year $split 5 ways my take was $204.

The odds are better than those black jack side bets.

7pm is a good session because it is 2x pay on the second game of each regular card and you should go Monday to Thursday for it. 9pm is also good except Friday and Saturday.

You get 2 free cocktails with each session.

If the Dual Dab target is 35+ numbers then you should spend extra here. it is usually over $85k and most of the time when won it is is won on 35 numbers.

I dont like the bonanza but play it electronically. Pookie likes it an always plays it.

 

I bow to the Bingo God! I just recently made my foray into the Bingo World and those were my experiences and observations.

What is the difference between the "Hot" ball and "Cash" Ball. I specifically am looking for info at the Plaza as I will not be playing any other place.

The Hotball is what you get when you validate. Every bingo calls it something different. In Canada we call it the Twonie ball because it costs $2 addon. Jerry's Nugget call it the Nugget Ball, Southpoint calls it the Cash Ball/ It is not the same as the Cash Ball at Plaza that is unique to them.

The Hot Ball is designated as the 1st number drawn of the 1st game. The 2nd through 5th balls out on the 1st game are your designated cash ball numbers. If you bingo on any regular game after that on that number you will win the Hotball progressive prize for that session. Plaza's Hotballs right now range from a low of $542 to a high of $1599. These progressive prizes are on top of the normal prize you would win.

If you win the Hotball and if you have 2 of the designated cash ball numbers on that card you win an extra $1k, 3 balls - $2.5k and all 4 balls plus winning the hotball pays an additional $10k. The last time I saw it won the guy one $16,000.

The process as to whether you have won or not is managed by the computer when they verify your card so you don't have to think about those 4 numbers.

Hotball validation is $1 per pack or $2 per rainbow. Cashball is an additional $1 or $2. So if you are playing single

Sorta like the side bet in blackjack but better odds.

If you buy the bundles it costs you about $5 or $6 to cash ball validate for a chance to win over $10k. I do it every time. I buy the #4 Electronic special for $67 and dab a rainbow or Green pack. I spend about $100 per session at Plaza.

Plaza is more expensive than Arizona Charlies, Jerry's Nugget or Southpoint which is why the 7pm 2x pay is a must when down town and wanting to play Bingo. It is the only Bingo on Fremont I think. None on teh Strib All the Stations, Southpoint are close.

Arizona Charlies you need a rental. We like Southpoint the best and starting to grow a fondness for Jerry's nugget in North Vegas.

 

I've ranted before about the bingo in vegas. the computers are nice but the packages are filled with blue packs and knocks you out of hitting very much if you don't bingo on one of the bigger games. Competing against yourself. We are pretty well Aliante only now as its paper only and you can just buy Green packs so if you bingo it's a few hundred dollars. I think it's 300 on the green and not competing against yourself. As far as places that do use the electronic machines I think Plaza is the best of the lot though. Some of the coveralls and runner ups make them attractive at times though. Worse case scenario you get a couple of free drinks and kill an hour spending less than you would at a slot machine

 

11am at Arizona Charlies as three $1k coveralls (2nd and 3rd chance) at 11am. That is a great game Monday to Friday. We have won one of the $1ks 3 out of the last 4 trips we have been to Vegas.

A agree with the Blues but you dont have to play rainbows you can play solid packs but they usually do not offer bonus packs for buying them.

Texas Station I think is paper only. We played there once.

 

I forgot to mention Plaza is the only one that give extra blues for buying electronic Rainbows. Southpoint for sure give extra rainbows. Basically buy two rainbows get 1 free plus if you spend more than $50 every other session you get another free rainbow at SP.
