there is a tunnel from the casino that takes you under poydras st and comes up in the #1 parking garage lobby, when you get to the top of the escalator in the parking garage lobby, walk straight out the doors, across fulton st right into the hotel. Fulton between the hotel and mannings st is closed to traffic

not sure what room type you booked, city or river view but for a river view, make sure to get a high floor anything above floor 12, i believe, if not youll be looing at a parking garage and cooling towers...if you get that corner suite you get two views lol

CV is city view, the only bad views for the hotel you can get is a low floor staring at the parking garage which is a river view and a city view northside staring at the side of the Loews hotel...the other views no matter city west or city east and river south are all nice...as for the room, you should have 1 or 2 chairs and a small table or a small sofa. the bathroom has a soaking tub and separate glass shower...you need to use your room key once inside the elevator to select rooms and get it to move lol, if a random person puts their card in first, its open for anyone in the elevator to select what floor they need... just ask for a high floor with a view, tell them its your first time there

few extra things. convention center blvd is a mess with construction, city creating more traffic for no reason, thats the street to get in and out of the two parking garages, parking is free for diamond and 7*, parking is also free (tip) for valet at the casino which you enter from canal street

make sure your daughters ID is not going to expire before or during the trip, they ID to get into the casino and even if it shows you are over 21, they will deny you entry on an expired ID

most of the food places are 2:1 on points

we have the new Filmore venue on the 2nd floor, may have a concert yall want to see and going to the host office may score you free tickets..enter from masquerade or outside by valet

masquerade and hoodoo have DJ's on the weekends, might have a band in masq prior to DJ, all free

    ill think of more lol

my friend does a karaoke show on Mondays and Thursdays, for football season though I believe they are moving him to Fridays inside of masquerade...

for the diamond lounge, there was talk of taking the buffet out and bringing the menu system back as the room is small and people dont leave, lol...its not currently in place but may be when you arrive...

harrahs is smoke free casino and hotel, but there are 3 outdoor smoking areas with slots/vp and tables if you do smoke, all climate controlled.

They will be building a new hotel and remodeling lots of stuff in the casino so whatever you see this trip probably wont be back on your next trip...no remodeling any time this year though

when cashing in at the cage, you should have no issues being diamond but if for whatever reason they have super long lines...there is a 2nd cage in high limit and a hidden cage behind the poker bar.

Need a card and Caesars rewards line is long..they have card printer machines throughout the casino.

if you hit a slot or VP handpay, Louisiana will happily put their hand out and take state tax from you, no way around it

think that may cover the casino portion...any other questions, ask away

Been Hollywood many times is the closest to me about 45 min. It is a good casino $5 craps and reasonable other table games. I believe the craps table has the ats. Slots are ok. They recently got rid of some of my old stand bys. The buffet is good not great. Upstairs where the buffet is non smoking with some more slots. The restaurant upstairs is good with a nice view of the bay. The rooms are nice we got mini suite once that we really enjoyed. The silver slipper is about 10 min away. Island view is about 20 min along the beach in Gulf port.

Am sure dads getting a little tapped out. But I'd spring for a room. If not Harrah's try a near buy local hotel. East Orleans really sketchy hood to be driving through at night. plus that long ass bridge too.
Hollywood's ok, only played there a couple hrs. A few years ago, small but adequate.

when you say long bridge, did you go way out of the way and take the Causeway bridge from Mandeville to Metairie, thats the long bridge lol 24.5 miles of water...the twin spans from New Orleans east to Slidell is only 5 miles...while I agree that NOE at night aint a good place, staying on the interstate is all good.

I take the scenic route to avoid traffic from dumbass drivers to construction. this takes you straight through some rough areas at first. Chef Mentaur highway turns into US90, runs through camps along the lake and eventually you pop out right by waveland, MS and can enjoy a full ride down the coast to wherever you want to visit. everyone claims its a longer drive but when there is maybe 4-5 cars the whole way, you can make up ground quick.

Yea damn, I forgot we took the scenic route and stopped at Chalmette. Thank you.
Still seems kind of a hassle to save a couple bucks.

its not terribly bad, if you are not from that area you dont want to be wondering around especially at night, they will pick you out as someone not from there and anything can happen...just driving through you wont have any issues. they have a asian bakery/restaurant out there that has some great and cheap food...Ive been out there from day to night filming a hip hop video with a famous Houston rapper and no issues with anyone...if you driving its nothing to worry about, after that short stretch of Chef Mentaur (7 miles) it all changes to trees, camps and water, nice change from the interstate
