So another change in the news today. OYO has purchased Hooters Casino. Since OYO appears to be a value/budget brand, it may be a good fit for the brand. Until previously seeing rumors of this Hooter's purchase, I'd never heard of OYO.

With this article on OYO in Dallas, and the experiences of some of the hotels, it'll be interesting to see how it goes with Vegas.

"Vegas won't be Vegas without a Hooters!", said no one ever.

I was there once over 30 years ago when it was the San Remo because I saw their sign for a steak dinner at about $5, and again this past June to see Gordie Brown's show, which is a good show. I might return to see what the new owners do with the place, but the visit is not a high priority.

I know that a lot of people weren't a fan, but, I'm definitely going to miss the Hooters. I killed several hangovers there over the years with a good chicken strip cheese sandwich and a few beers.

I still have some free play from Hooters. Do I need to book a room to use my free play/food offers?

Is the Hooters restaurant staying when it changes to Oyo? Ive heard both its closing and its staying. I believe its the most lucrative Hooters resturant in the country.

The new owners indicate a “family” friendly place....guessing they will, not want a Hooters restaurant. Hopefully Hooters will find a spot somewhere on the strip to open a restaurant. A 24/7 one!

For Hooters I just watch the woo girls going to Marquee

So sad that I’ve gotten old enough that I’m often thinking “what ARE you wearing, your nan would not approve”

I realised the other day that I haven’t been south of Aria for 4 trips so it won’t affect me but the old $3 BJ at Hooters was worth it just for people watching. You sure got some characters.

Maybe just remove all of the Hooterage and capitalize on a Steak & Shake themed casino/hotel.

Easy to get to whether walking or driving and the great coupons in LVA and ACG made it a no brainer for one visit a year. Even with a minor in tow, my niece and I were able to play our coupons taking turns playing while all three of us ate at Steak and Shake.

I kinda liked HOOTERS for the sheer tackiness factor.
I never stayed there but the pool was supposed to be pretty good and it was open really late.

The best hidden secret was taking photos from the parking structure.

Stayed there several times, when it was San Remo.
One night, while playing VP at the San Remo bar - a very drunk hooker
plops down next to me - she has an argument on her cell w her pimp -
turns to me and slurs " Where am I ?"........
Oh !......did I have a blast confusing the sh*t out of her for the next 15 minutes !
It was a comedy routine........people at the bar were laughing.
    .
Never set foot in there when it became Hooters.

Won't necessarily miss Hooters. It was the end of one of my worst Vegas trips, where I got crushed in gambling. I remember sitting there playing 3 lines on a penny video poker machine and scrambling for change to tip the waitress for the beer she brought me. Think she got something like 87 cents, mostly in nickels and pennies.

It's a good thing one of my rules is "never hit an ATM in Las Vegas."

I have a vague recollection of seeing a room rate there during the recession for $1. I declined. I do recall heartily enjoying a $5.95 prime rib dinner at the San Remo in the late 90s, and being tempted to order a second one but was a little too self conscious to do so. I think the only time I visited during hooters era was to sign up for the slot club ostensibly for "$200 in free play" which was only valid on a few promo slot machines at the slot booth and was a total throwaway. I instantly regretted giving them my personal information and bothering to go out of my way to Hooters.

Just last week I was driving on Route 10 in Beaumont, CA and noticed an Oyo hotel, and was reminded of this news item. It didn't look like any place worth stopping for.

I stayed at San Remo in the 90's when i used to stay & play on the South Strip. Didn't do much gambling there as i preferred MGM across the street.
Perhaps OYO will have a Bollywood presence at the Hotel for entertainment?

When I was a much younger and more immature man (yeah, right) I sent an email to a male co-worker and in it did the ol' ( o Y o ) for breasts. Ever since then we always referred to them as "Oyo's" So I love the fact that Hooters is being replaced by them.
