He wanted to wear a model of helmet that is no longer allowed by the league.

Just saw the first episode of HBO's Hard Knocks featuring the Oakland Raiders.

From what they showed, AB is a doting father to his 3 small children, he works hard trying to rehab his bad foot, he busts his ass on his conditioning and he seems to be a good teammate, cheering on the other guys in practice. Jon Gruden had to take his helmet away to keep him from sneaking onto the field.

    Two sides to every story.

Is this fictional or documentary in its presentation? Never watch it. Not having HBO could be a significant factor in my not knowing.

Hard Knocks is documentary/reality "style" I suppose... every year they select a new team to follow along through pre-season. My understanding is that once the NFL approves, the selected team can't decline. They follow the stars of course, but also focus on the journeys of several players who are borderline and may or may not make the team and any other stories the producers deem interesting.

The show purports to give the viewer a peak behind the curtain, so to speak. It's on once a week (Tuesday nights) for an hour and covers all that happened in the past week. I think there's 4 or 5 total episodes each year and the show ends as the regular season starts.

Thanks for that. I’ll look to Neil and Stan for my tales coverage. Haha.

AB has 5 children with 3 different women. Not sure about his martial status.

Ugh. Leaving training camp again is bizarre.
Mayock has gone public with his irritation.
I do not think this story ends well.

It will be interesting whether the general managers stance is what defines the raiders this year or if talent needed on the field allows the tail to wag the dog once again.

Crap, did you see the bottoms of the guy's feet? And this happened in an ice bath? I finished episode 2 of Hard Knocks. I don't know if it was editing or not, but the backup guys and rookies can't catch shit.

Probably editing. Screw hard knocks. They've played two games. Watch those if you want to see how the backups and rookies are playing. The answer, to my surprise, is pretty well. Admittedly, I think no pass from Peterman has gone more than about two yards in the air, lol, but Glennon and Carr have thrown the ball downfield and the receivers are making catches

It's all about attention for this asshole (AB)… today I heard there's just short of 3,000 guys on NFL rosters and he's the ONLY one fighting this helmet thing. Everyone else has found one of the thirty-(30) other NFL approved helmets to use. Instead he's filed second grievance.

I understand he was back at camp yesterday, in the back of the room listening to meetings. If he cared about winning, he'd be out of the field with his teammates working on timing, trying out other helmets before the season starts. He's picked-up with the Raiders just as he left Pittsburgh... showing he's "special" and none of the rules apply to him. If I'm one of these other players, struggling to make the team... sweating my balls off everyday... I resent the shit out of him and his $30 million.
