Hey guys, longtime stalker on here but have a question :) . So, coming in Oct and my GF wants to go to a fancy buffet, I hardly go as I’m mostly here to shoot craps and drink beer . So, what buffet would you recommend , money is no object ( unless I have a bad night at the table ) . Thanks for looking , and thanks for this message board , lots of good info on here

You can spend top dollar for a buffet or you can spend top dollar on a nice sit down meal....I prefer the meal....

Best Buffet is probably Caesar’s or Wynn. I can’t speak for Cosmo so I’m not sure where it falls. Sterling brunch Is probably even fancier (and hard to get reservations for) but recent reviews have been less than stellar.

If you're going to be in town on a Sunday you should try Sterling Brunch at Bally's.

Never had it, but I'd say the Sterling Brunch at Bally's would be tops considering how hard it is to get a reservation to eat there.

But, getting down to the "normal" buffets, I'd go with these in no particular order:
    Aria
    Wynn
    Wicked spoon
    Bellagio

I was so underwhelmed with the Bacchanal Buffet, I'd give it a hard pass unless it was free.

    Second tier buffets:
    Mirage
    MGM Grand
    Paris (Breakfast)

Since your GF wants to try a fancy buffet, I think either of these would fit the bill based on aesthetics and better than average food, in order:

    1) Wynn buffet
    2) Aria buffet
    3) Cosmo Wicked Spoon
    4) Bellagio

There are good reports on here for the M Resort buffet, but I haven’t tried it yet.

I’ve not done Bacchanal at Caesars because its way more expensive than a buffet is worth, just my opinion.

Hope you and GF have a great trip!

I’m encouraged to see y’all recommending Aria. I hadn’t been in a while and everbody has been saying it isn’t as good. I always loved it though and would have put it on my list based on my experience.

Aria or Wynn seems the way to go. Yes, I’d prefer sit down as well but she mentioned it and figure you experts would know a good place

Not traditional but I just tried the herringbone weekend brunch and loved it. Loved sterling as well and the constant fill up of champagne after every sip.

    Bacchanal.
Others not even close, only half or 1/3 of the size of Bacchanal.

Most who undrwhelmed are because of its high price.
But, as I siad many times, paying out of pocket to eat buffets in Vegas is so wrong, so un-Vegas.

Sorry, but I must disagree here. Bacchanal reminds me of Rio in the really old days - tons and tons of selections, all of which aren't very good. I was not overwhelmed by the price, just by the lack of quality. I agree with Shock above that many others are better. Personally, if you are adventurous eaters, I'd pick Wicked Spoon - if not, the quality at Wynn overwhelms most of the others.

We can agree on our disagreement.
In fact, I do agree with you. "Rio in the really old days", and many people thought that was one of the best buffets ever.
Buffet is never for quality. It is for variety, the more the better.

Red Rock for the 19 prime rib buffet. Not on the strip I know. But good food at pretty good prices. Pick up the american casino guide from amazon. There may be some two for one buffet in there. Dont have to spend a ton to get good food.

Rio used to be one of the best and most consistently good buffets!

Then they folded in the Seafood Buffet, closed the Diamond entrance, which they let us lowly Plats use, and actually walled off part of the steam line area.

Last time there, it was not worth the calories, let alone the $$$$$$$!

Only been to the new Caesars buffet once, and that was when I could legitimately expense it out as bonafide client entertainment. Yes, variety and quality are much better than most buffets, but you are really paying for what you COULD eat, but don't actually eat, if that makes any sense.

    It makes perfect sense!
Wynn buffet has the best selection of dessert. I had eaten there more than 20 times, only tried one or two desserts because I usually don't eat any.
I still consider they have the best dessert.

I ate at the Wynn buffet for the first time last week. Wow, was I impressed. I thought it was at least as good as Bacchanal, if not better, and it cost less, too. $29.99 for weekday lunch. Everything was absolutely delicious, except for ONE thing, and it was my own fault but curiosity got the best of me. They had a vegan chocolate chip cookie at the desert bar. It looked really good. I decided to try it. Huge mistake! Tasted absolutely awful, and the aftertaste LINGERED. But like I said, my own fault for trying a vegan cookie! (Really, what the heck is it even made out of??) I loved the selection of carved meats, especially loved that they had optional sauces paired for each meat. And I loved that I could get my ice cream in a waffle cone with sprinkles, too. My inner child was pleased.

I've been to several multiple times this year and have to say Bacchanal is hands down best. The worst quality I've gotten there in 5 trips has been better than the best thing on the Bellagio Buffett. I have not had Wynn though so I cant compare that one. Oddly enough Rio had the best dessert selection and presentation I've seen even though the rest of the buffet is kinda meh. Wicked Spoon is second in my book, and if the girlfriend is a hipster foodie, she may like that one best. Definitely a lot of weird but good food there. I only had it on one trip when they gave me a couple free passes, and the desserts that day were a little stale but impressive looking, and flavor was good. Almost everything else I got off the main buffet at Wicked Spoon was outstanding quality and freshness wise, just a lot of weird spicy food that wasn't my favorite. Still enjoyed it though and would go back, but I will ALWAYS go to Bacchanal when I'm in town because it has a unique and large selection, and on average very high quality, good or better freshness wise. I have picked up an item here and there that wasn't fresh and just have them bus it. Dont waste the calories. It's a buffet. Tell em it was crap, take it away. They don't mind.

Bellagio is the worst buffet experience I've ever had in Vegas and was due not only to poor quality food and selection, but absolutely unacceptable poor level of service. Worst service ever. Would not go back unless free, and even then I'd weigh my options. Service and ambience being important when trying to impress a date, I'd urge you to avoid that one. The dining room reminds me of a nursing home cafe. It's very plain. Cosmo and Caesars both have an impressive environment youre going to walk through to get there, and then somewhat "fancy" type ambience, for a buffet, in their respective dining rooms in my opinion. As does what I've seen of Wynn, I just havent actually eaten there. Going to get a lot of opinions on this one though.
