Hopefully you'll arrive at Flamingo during hours that Diamond check-in is open. It's the double-doors on the left end of the check-in desk. Make sure one of the Diamond players is on each room. When you check-in, be happy, be friendly, be jovial.

Play it off that you just assume the resort fees will be comp'd because of the Diamond card holders. Don't mention you're booked under a third party package. If they tell you the resort fees aren't comp'd because of your booking, be nice and don't be afraid to ask if there's any way they can make an exception this time and when you come back, you'll make sure to book directly thru CET.

The people working Diamond check-in are always very nice and accommodating. My gf and I are both mid-level Diamond and always comp'd a better than average room and no resort fees is never an issue. But when we ask, they upgrade our room 99% of the time, and even sometimes offer when we don't ask. And they're always giving us a bunch of water bottles for the room. As I said, they are very accommodating and will do what they can for you.

The $100 Diamond dinner is NOT a resort credit. It can be used to dine at numerous restaurants at all CET properties. They can give you a list of where it's good at. And you have to use the $100 all at once. None of it carries over. I have no idea what your food tastes are, but I would suggest using it at Caesars Bacchanal Buffet.

The free show tickets are available at the Caesars Rewards desk opposite check-in. They'll have a list of shows available and give you vouchers for the show you choose that you take to a CET box office and get the actual tickets. There's a box office right past the elevators near the CR desk at Flamingo. You can get the tickets there for any show. You don't have to take the vouchers to the box office where the show is. My first choices would be Penn and Teller or Wayne Newton.

You mentioned a few times you forget to use a players card. Ask at the Caesars Rewards desk if they still have free card cords or bungees. You can put your card on it, hook it to your belt loop or shirt buttonhole, and it should help remind you to use the card. I haven't used a cord/bungee in years, so not sure if they still give them out.

    Have a GREAT trip!

Yes, you can see a show in Nov and a show in Dec so that's pretty good, although I don't like any of the shows they offer, but if you like hypnotism, check out this guy: Marc Savard:

    https://www.youtube.com/user/HypnotistMarcSavard

You can buy tickets for his show cheap on Groupon right now:

    https://www.groupon.com/deals/marc-savard-comedy-hypnosis

You should also check out other offers on Groupon before you go to save your cash when you are there and buy your groupons over the next few months.

    https://www.groupon.com/browse/las-vegas?address=Las+Vegas%2C+NV&lat=36.17&lng=-115.14&locale=en_US

As Corinne said you need to get off that plane sharpish, in fact one of you needs to give their bag to the others and run to customs and save a space in line because otherwise you could be in that queue for up to 90 minutes!

I live 6 months in Milton Keynes in the UK and the other 6 months in Davenport Florida, well 3 months there and the other 3 months in any of the CET casinos across the US!

For future reference had you chosen a stop in Dublin or any other US city, you would have already cleared customs and immigration before you arrive in LV and that can save yourself a lot of time and hassle.

Appreciate all the tips - has all been noted and well I shall run for immigration whilst they grab all bags to save time.

I think we will do Penn & Teller as it is free and maybe another depending on what we have planned as we have a lot planned. We been buying stuff on group on already. The $100 credit we were going to use on Thanksgiving at Caesars if that was possible. With diamond Queue hopefully will not be too bad.

Would be great to get resort fees back however not essential. Just extra money for elsewhere especially with the poor exchange rate currently!

You may get lucky and be the only international flight in at the time, and if that's the case immigration will be empty and you'll be knackered for no reason :grrr:

Welcome to my favorite place in the US. I fly out to Vegas 5 trips be year. What I would recommend is to not rent a car. The strip is a walking experience. There is a long monorail from MGM to the SLS. Another from the Beligio to Park MGM (free). And, one from Excaliber to Mondalay Bay (free). From TI to Ceasars (free). Take a taxi from airport to Flamingo (about $20).
Tell driver not to take the tunnel or highway. This is known as long haul and they pull it on tourist all the time. If the taxi is over $20/$25 tell the driver you are calling to report him. Only give $25.

Also never purchase anything from people on the street. You do not get into a club any faster with the passes they sell. Talk with the hotel conceire about any club you may want to go to. They will explain everything
Also, pot is legal. Purchase in the pot store if this is your reason for a visit. Not on the street.

I have stayed at every CET property in Vegas. I always return to the flamingo. Ask for a flamingo room upon check in. Have fun and stay safe. Vegas is not Disneyland and has all of the crime of any big city.

last year at PH I booked direct through hotels.com for my 6th night. Had a giftcard i had to use.
first 5 night were comp'd through caesar's rewards site.
As a Diamond, they waived the resort fee but made it seem like he was doing me a HUUUUUUGE favor..... first I ever heard of "book 3rd party and you pay resort fees even if Diamond" So , Maybe they have some terms that states that somewhere... I would act dumb and tell them you thought diamonds were waived etc etc etc.... again.. this is at check out.. I didn't need a host to get involved.. the normal check out rep waived the fee for me. He didnt mention that direct booking = resort fees either at the time.
Nothing wrong was asking nicely at check in.. and then asking nicely again at check out.

If you do end up gambling at CET. Be sure to get 2 cards each and have all 4 of you use a diamond card. You could end up earning enough for a lounge visit.. the lounges arn't great but if you are near one especially during 4-6pm where they serve some food.. it may be worth checking one out. You can try a lot of specialty drinks that you may not have ever bothered trying if they wernt comp'd in the lounge.

Consider going to the Total Rewards desk and getting a Diamond card prior to hotel checkin. Then as you checkin hand the Diamond card along with your ID and credit card. Make some assumptive statement like "I was told to show you my Diamond card so that I was not charged resort fees." Act like it is standard procedure and you will be better off.

With 200.00 in celebration dinner credit. Bacchanal Buffet would be an excellent value. You can use the credit to pay for your mates entrance fee as well. All 100 needs to be used up at the same time/same purchase.
    Mon - thursday brunch 44.99 per person/ 54.99 dinner
    Fr- Sun 59.99 brunch / 64.99 dinner

    The help is great :D

I was going to get my diamond card before checked in and exactly this. Act dumb an dhope for the best was the technique.

With regards to the buffet we were hoping to use in on thanksgiving there is no mention in terms of blackout dates etc.

Remember that EACH Diamond person gets a $100 Celebration dinner and 2 show tickets (so you can get multiple $100 meals). As others have said, make sure you use all of the certificate in one shot, or you lose whatever is left (if that means ordering a dessert or something to go, do it)!

This is the list (posted below) of participating restaurants. I have used mine in the past at Center Cut Steakhouse at Flamingo (excellent) and at Hell's Kitchen (at Caesars Palace, also excellent). Old Homestead steakhouse at Caesars is also stellar. I personally would not use it on a buffet, but that is my opinion. I prefer a good, sit down restaurant with one amazing plate of food over a mass-produced quantity of buffet fare (no matter how gourmet it is advertised to be).

*Please note - in order to use your Celebration Dinner, you must go to a CET Players Desk and have it loaded onto your players card EXCEPT for the properties that have an asterisk on the list below (Bally's, Planet Hollywood and Paris) - for those properties you must go to the Players Desk at that property and ask for a physical voucher in order to use your Celebration Dinner at those establishments. PS, of course it's not just for dinner - you can use it whenever at those establishments.

If you plan to go to any of these places on Thanksgiving, many of them will have a special holiday Thanksgiving menu available, but those menus don't usually get posted until it gets much closer to the holiday. I would make a reservation as soon as possible for the restaurant where you want to eat. You can always cancel a restaurant reservation if you change your mind, and at least you will have something locked in because American restaurants usually have a certain number of seatings available during the Thanksgiving holiday and reservations do go quickly. All of the buffets serve a special holiday menu and the lines are sometimes several hours long, snaking around the casino - it is insanity! Definitely book a restaurant with a set reservation!

This is an article from last Thanksgiving that gives you an idea of what kind of menus are served on the holiday:

By the way, you get your free show tickets the same way you get your Celebration Dinner - at the Players Desk. They will give you a voucher and a list of available shows and then you take it to the box office and hopefully what you want to see is available (there is limited availability for comped tickets and they often sell out, so I would ask for whatever shows you want to see the day you arrive, even if the show is a few days away. I would recommend Mat Franco, if you can get tickets - I saw him in March and the show was fantastic! I have also seen Wayne Newton (aka Mr Las Vegas - he is the last link to the Vintage Rat Pack era and even though his voice is not what it used to be, he is a Las Vegas legend and worth seeing). Bronx Wanderers was also a fantastic show (if you like the old school music of Dion and The Belmonts, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons etc, you will have a blast)!

Here is a link to the current list of shows available:

Don't forget each diamond card allows you and a guest into the spas for free. Well, almost. Caesars Qua Spa still has a $20/prn fee (reg. $55) and Paris Spa still has a $10/prn fee (reg. ?). But the other spas are just show your card for use of the hot tubs, steam room, sauna, lounge with tea/coffee and light snack. Nice way to start off your day or soak if you're feet get sore from all the walking.

Confirmed with the LINQ via email that spa services are no longer included at their property with Diamond membership.

Diamond members pay half price for the day pass, but must still pay.

Buffets during thanksgiving will have huge lines. Diamond of course will be able to skip the huge line and maybe only need to wait 10 minutes depending how many diamonds are in front of you. Skipping the line is a nice little perk at other restaurants as well.
I skipped about 10 people in the little pizza place at Paris only because the service was the slowest you could ever imagine and I saw the little diamond line sign. Or using it at Gordon Ramsay Burger for dinner will skip you 40+ people and 1-2hr wait. Nice stuff. Oh and Starbucks (at least at PH )has diamond line which is always empty.

Ok, so I just found out you can get a diamond card by providing your gold mlife. However, I think I read somewhere that it takes 2 weeks to activate benefits such as $100 dinner, and 2 show tix. Is this always the case?

Caesars has in no way "acquired Wyndham". They match each others' status and that's it.
