After dinner we roamed the strip. Drinking, gambling, sharing good times. We did well at craps and roulette, but not so hot at blackjack. We talked to tons of strangers, had frozen Bailey’s from O’Sheas, and just walked aimlessly. At this point I was still up over $20,000 so figured I would shut the gamble down and relax for my last few hours in town.

“My advice to people today is as follows: if you take the game of life seriously, if you take your nervous system seriously, if you take your sense organs seriously, if you take the energy process seriously, you must turn on, tune in, and drop out.”
    - Timothy Leary

“The best revenge is massive success.”

After making our way back to Cosmo I was pretty tired. We gambled a little bit, breaking about even. Then it was a mad rush to the airport. That about sums up my four days in Vegas. Thanks for following along!

    Tried some bad meditation
    Sitting up in the dark
They say to picture an island
Cuz that's one place to start

I guess I could count my blessings
I don't sleep in the park
    With all my earthly possessions
    In one old shopping cart

No, I'm up in the penthouse
    On a big feather bed
Is it too late to fixate
    On that instead

    My wife takes a vacation
    One she can't afford
    I go fishin' the alleys
    For someone to escort

No, I don't mind the money
    It beats betting on sports
And though it might get expensive
    It's cheaper than divorce

And I love her torn stockings
    And her lipstick of red
Is it too late to fixate
    On her instead

    You know you're my favorite
    She says when we're through
    Some parts are off limits
But I'd give them to you

Where the hell was Dock Ellis
When I gave up that hit
    Where was Timothy Leary
    When reality bit

    Who's the new Dalai Lama
    That shy little kid
With no room in his body
    Where a stranger could live
I can't blame him for dreamin'
    He'll sleep when he's dead

Is it too late to fixate
    On that instead
Is it too late to fixate
    On that instead

I just found & read this TR. Still in the process of picking my jaw up off the floor.

This, friends, is a true renaissance man. I could easily expound upon that, but I think that I'll leave it there. Thanks, DockEllis. Helluva job, indeed.

    *starts slow clapping*

Needs a standing ovation. Really well done. You really went above and beyond with the number of pictures and your quotes. I and I’m sure a lot of other really appreciated it. I hope you make it back soon and do some more bar hopping and let us tag along.

I ADORE the quotes. Some on here have carved out their signature TR/sign-off etc. The quotes could be yours, and I adore them.

One of my favorite quotes that you cited, which I have never heard:

“If we go down the rabbit hole of our unconsciousness and try to unravel the knotty points of our life story, we may encounter a bunch of hidden niceties or emotional stowaways. Forgotten details in the windmill of our mind may daintily reveal, where things might have gone wrong. (‘I wonder what went wrong.’)”
    - Erik Pevernagie

Truly superlative TR! I love all of our TR's, short and long, artful or playful, but yours was one of my favorites. You truly did a knock out job, and thank you so much for letting us share in your adventures!

After 38 years going to Vegas you showed me many things I’ve never seen and quite a few familiar sites in a new way. Thank you.

Amazing report! I loved the pics of the things that a lot of us just walk by and never notice. Dive bar crawl, just awesome! Safe travels and thanks for the report!

Truly one of the greatest trip reports I have ever read.

So many great pictures and stories and no self-absorption.
