So I see new Raider WR, Antonio Brown is threatening to quit the NFL if he’s not allowed to use his old style helmet, which the the NFL has ruled-out, as not being in compliance with their new safety specs.

I say goodbye AB... you left Pittsburgh is circus-like fashion and have brought all 3 rings of the circus here with your frostbitten feet and now this. Please... Raiders... kick this guy to the curb!

I predict it’ll only get worse!

Once his business team tells him he'll have to pay all that money back, he'll be back. Never liked this guy since he videoed Tomlin in the locker room. For the Steelers, given him and Bell, definitely addition by subtraction, no matter how good they were.

Joe Garagiola said it. Different sport but it still applies: "Do you think we need some cellulose in these batting helmets?" "No, I think we need some ball players in these batting helmets."

"Baseball Is a Funny Game" You could look it up!

Players should be able to pick the helmet they feel comfortable with. This would be my choice.

So between his signing and now the league declared his helmet to be unacceptable? What the hey. Just let them all be grandfathered in using the outdated stuff unless it is deemed unsafe to the tacklers. Information we now have show the inherent risks.
And he goes to an arbitrator for a ruling. What happened to if you want to work here you have to dress appropriately and act accordingly. Casual Friday’s is what happened. It’s been downhill ever since.

With all the characters the Raiders have had over the years....I can’t see anything but a conversation (in private of course).

    He isn’t going anywhere...

Given the crap we put up with him in Pittsburgh, I agree he will continue on his crazy train. You have to wonder if that helmet has been failing to protect his brain for awhile now.

Today, Sports Illustrated reports that he’s frustrating coaches by showing-up late to meetings and lacking focus when he IS there.

I hope Gruden deals with this shit or he’ll lose the team.

    Same attitude different city.

Life long Steeler fan here. He's extremely talented at his position, but not worth the aggravation of the turmoil he creates.

Teams should have been warned when he said: " I don't even have to play football if I don't want, bro, I don't even need the game. You know what I'm saying? I don't need to prove nothing to anyone. If they wanna play, they gonna play by my rules."

Did they think he was kidding when he said it? No "conversation" -- private or otherwise is going to work with him based on his words and actions.

Nfl contracts are silly. But to hold a guys $’s over the teams head on something like this if he refuses to play is silly too. Can’t believe the Nflpa hasn’t chimed in. If they are afraid then they are of no help. Gotta call ‘em as you see ‘em. . But who does that anymore?

Antonio Brown is a pariah. I don't care if he is a great player. Mentally, he's a spoiled brat.

Arbitrator ruled he has to wear the new helmet and Brown has said he is headed back to camp to play. So everyone can now channel their sports screaming into the next faux-outrage of the day

Speaking of sports outrage, Michelle Wie married Jerry West’s son. Now I’m outraged!

This is one of my WTF? threads. I have no idea what any of the replies mean either. Must be an only in USA things.

    Carry on.
