623DE973-2AAA-41B8-BBC4-3840AE8978BE.jpeg Having some quick food at the Aria Buffet before we head out to meet mom and start gambling! Unc’s first time having poke. I love raw fish but stuck to American fare and sampled some of the Indian. Enjoyed the tandoori chicken and the sliders. Will be getting some sweets before we head out. Not eating too much because Carbone is tonight!
Don’t mind his eye bags we’ve been up since 3AM EDT

Awww ...your cat looks both hurt and surprised "You're leaving ...but ...but .. what about me" . You pets are too cute.

Amazing picture of the pentagon. Good luck on the trip to both of you.

Played some VP at the Aria (I know, I know) while I waited for Unc.
    In for 100$
    Out for 35$ - got mad (not really mad just an exasperated sigh) because of this;
    8FEBA452-E41A-4183-8E03-0F4037C5E83D.jpeg
Never gotten a Royal. Gotten this close 2 times. 1 in 47 chance to get it and haven’t, twice! I’m due for one soon!
I play VP every trip for a few hours. Oh well. To make matters worse a pit boss walked past and said “where’s that ace!”

How about you tell me buddy!

Also went over to the Gold Coast and bought in for 3 card poker (one of my fave games)
    In for 100
    Out for 80

Hit a flush and some pairs with the pair plus but got quite unlucky a few times.
Have to head over to meet up with mom so on we go!

So far so good if you ask me. But I’m hoping for a big win at least once this trip

So far, stopped by the Gold Coast.

Lost $50 at 3 Card Poker, fun warm up though!

    9A1AD1B4-DD07-41A7-958A-7D3E456906F6.jpeg

Lost $20 on this machine at $1 a spin, likely will be the extent of my slot play this trip, although still may give the buffalo machine a try! Having fun, mom will be here soon!

(guffaws), I'll leave it to @tringlomane to break the bad news. I'm in the "Never Yet, maybe soon" club too. at least you are swinging for the fences.

I enjoy 3 card poker too, had some great hits, but it really can be a money suck.
(WOO says 10.6% HA, it does kind of feel like slot odds to me).
(I've got a funny story on a triple 7 machine in the hopper for my TR)

Actually I made a mistake. I drew 3 cards to a royal this time so not exactly 1 in 47. But last time we were here I drew 4 to a royal so that last card would be 1 in 47. I guess you can see it that way both times because each card is it’s own independent event but yeah.
And I feel you. I’ve lost at 3 card poker many times. But I’ve also won 800$ On a straight flush (a lot for me considering I usually buy in for 100$).
Also won $800 a few weeks ago at 4 card poker in Baltimore. Again a lot because I don’t buy in for much. Sadly 4 card poker isn’t in Vegas!
I consider myself pretty lucky but usually only break even or win small bets.
Wizard of odds is awesome! But really puts a damper on my big dreaming lol. Reality bites.

My best hits have been trying to hit and run for just one hand, though a good dealer can talk me into hanging around, my best was a full house on a single blind $5 across at Golden Gate, and in one of my previous TRs I describe jumping in and catching trip 9s to the dismay of the woman who thought "that would have been my hand" and hung around to see it.

It reminds me of the advice in Roulette, and I think Craps, which is when you cash out because you are done, LEAVE THE TABLE, you do not want to see what "could have been"

4 card Poker I saw at MGM Springfield, we play Crazy4Poker (pretty easy strategy per WOO) I assume they play different but head over to Cromwell and give it a go, usually a $5 game and great cocktail service. I like it better than 3 card.

Actually played some 4 card crazy poker at the Cromwell! Thanks for the recommendation. Bought in for 70$ out for 120$
This was after 3 card poker at the Flamingo for 100$, which I left with that 70$.
I think I threw some money in a slot machine and lost a few bucks.
For the day I’m down 70$ from the VP at Aria. Otherwise I’m even!

I’ll let Unc fill you in on his gambling for the day. Didn’t go too well... looking forward to tomorrow though.
Had dinner at Carbone. Wow! What a wonderful place. Delicious food, amazing music, and gorgeous decor and atmosphere.
Was super sleepy but enjoyed the food and the attention to detail from the chefs and servers alike.
Really enjoyed the caprese salad and the spicy rigatoni vodka. Also got some chicken and we got the garlic potatoes, they were good too.
Honestly I don’t think food looks good in pics (ever, anywhere), but here is a pic of the beautiful bar. There was a lady sitting there with a gold sequin dress distracting me from the food all night.
Gonna get ready for bed and pass out! Loooong day for us.

Nice. Looks like a steered you toward your one “win” for the day. Had you played that before? Such an easy strategy.

    KQ84—>KK single bet
    AA=> max bet
    Fold everything else.

Been up nearly 24 hours at this point, so about to relax and head off to early bedtime before pool in the morning, and some downtown gambling in the afternoon!

Gambling unfortunately wasn’t great for me today, but I had fun nonetheless!

    2A5D7FBD-3438-43C1-952C-113F5C195A93.jpeg
In for $100, out for $5 At the former Margaritaville area 3 card poker.

Tried a quick hit slot with no luck for $20, and tried crazy 4 poker for the first time, no luck down $50. Ending the day gambling at -$230, on pace for my bankroll for the trip at least!

I think I got most of the carney games out of my system, hoping to play blackjack and craps tomorrow, maybe with some video poker and pai gow tiles/poker on the side.

    Carbone for dinner was excellent!

So far an amazing first day and I am thankful to spend this time with my wonderful wife and mom, and look forward to tomorrow’s adventures! I’m generally an optimist so I feel like a big win is around the corner! Good night Vegas!

    Good morning!
Just giving a quick shoutout to the shower at the Aria for reminding me why I go on vacation. Such an amazing shower. Felt so refreshing.
    Also I woke up dry as hell so time for the trifecta;
    64FF8B31-3EC1-4B29-B3F9-6E4E94D75708.jpeg
My allergies are actually better in Vegas than back home but I always get dry throat and nose! This will fix me right up.
Cheers to another day in paradise

Couldn’t help myself and woke up at 3:30 am, pretty much the exact time I wake up on the east coast. Did go to bed at 8:30, so a decent amount of sleep. Went on a walk for some essentials at CVS, might try to sleep a bit more before breakfast and hitting up the pool when it opens at 8 am.

Was a nice little stroll that reminded me how much I love Vegas! Walked thru Aria, Park MGM.

I love walking, as @Mrs Bourbon can attest to, and taking in the sites. Was an awesome early morning walk. Park MGM is also nice to see with Eataly done now, it finally seems like it is busy in there!

On the way back I spotted the classic Buffalo machine, and figured it was finally my time to try it. I put in a $20 at 40 cents a spin and....

Managed to hit the bonus game!

    85B34ABF-F35D-497F-9957-6C56FB59D290.jpeg

And left with $100, for an $80 profit! I never really play many machines or win much so it was a lot of fun for me, facetimed Mrs. Bourbon for the whole thing and had a lot of fun pretending to be one of those slot Youtubers!

Not sure what’s next, maybe more sleep or maybe some breakfast. Loving my time here in paradise so far!
