I have noticed more places requiring $15 minimum spread through these, can no longer do $1 on each. Dealer at MB told me two weeks ago you could do that.

yeah, it's been red chip min for awhile at a number of joints. Between this and gutting the pay...the bet is dead to me.

Yeah, I use to love the ATS bet but more and more places simply gutted the odds on it and now I rarely bet it.

Just do away with these bets period if they don’t like them. I loved the firebet and now it’s almost a thing of the past.

Firebet was a great "team" bet. It really got the table going when you were one away from the money.

ATS is pretty similar but requires a lot more dealer management both in terms of marking rolls and in terms of resetting bets after any seven which means it sometimes slows the game down.

For those reasons, I think the Firebet is a superior. You get one crack at it per shooter and it's easy to follow along with.

I don't get why fewer and fewer casinos offer it.

I have played the Firebet a LOT but never hit six unique bets. But I have been on tables with quite a few All hits. So to me the Fire bet has been one long unsatisfying tease. BTW, if you put a buck up bet for the dealers on the All-Tall-Small you will be surprised how they NEVER complain about marking the rolls and rarely forget to mark.

If you find yourself at Harrah's Joliet in Illinois, you can play Fire Bet and ATS simultaneously. And the ATS has the traditional higher payout.

Well I can't argue with you there. I've hit the ALL bet a couple times but I've never hit the 6x on the firebet. That makes sense though because 6x odds on the firebet are substantially longer. There's a reason it pays 1000x compared to 175x for an ALL bet.

The ALL bet is a 1 in 190 chance
The 6x Fire is roughly something like a 1 in 6000 chance

I was at my local, nine players on a five dollar table all playing ATS as well as Fire bet. Every seven out was like an elementary school roll call, table was so slow it was hard to tell that we were playing craps.

This makes SO much sense to me. All casinos should do this. Gives a player a choice to do both. And it's got to be a huge win for them with the 20% HA on both bets.

Well, with the 34-175-34 payout on the ATS, the HA is actually something like 7%.

Oh yes, forgot it was the better odds. Still, that is a healthy house edge for the casino and I bet they would pick up quite a bit more money from offering both the fire bet and the ATS bet at decent odds.

You are quite correct about that @sinnerman. Why wouldn't a casino try to capture any high house advantage bets they can?

My problem with all these craps side bets is I no longer enjoy hearing "Seven the winner, pay the line."

I’ve played when five separate points hit. I was the roller for one of them. I actually got the nine on the come out and that was what I needed for all six. My next roll was a seven out. This was at Horseshoe CB.

Wow. Did you consider laying that last number on the Fire Bet?

I don’t do the lay bets. Just not my style. I either hit it or I don’t. Same on the ATS.

What are the new odds looking like, when I was at Bellagio and MGM last year it was still 34/175/34 and you could bet as low as a buck on each? Whatever this new player screwing "odds virus" is that is going around, does anyone know if it has hit the MGM yet? I'll be there in a few weeks and always played 5 total on the ATS :D

The All pays 150 to 1 (i.e 151 for 1) and the tall and small pay 30 to 1 (i.e. 31 for 1 ). This increases the HA for the all to 20.61% from 7.47% and increases the HA for the small and the tall to 18.30% from 7.76%. I am not sure if it has hit MGM or not. Perhaps someone who has gone to MGM recently can confirm odds from the tables.
