My wife's pet name for me is George. It's not my actual name, but she started calling me that after watching the movie "Of Mice and Men", imitating the dimwitted character, Lenny. Here name is Mary, and was given the moniker "MareBear" by a co-worker. We usually just refer to her as "The Bear". I searched the web for a picture of a man with a bear, and you can see the fruits of my search.

Just a random picture of the Fremont Street canopy that I found on the interwebs, because I'm kind of partial to downtown.

The first really good picture of me once I became skinny(ish). I had just won a poker tournament at the Golden Nugget.

See that ring of belly fat? I love this picture because it tells me that even though I was looking really good (especially compared to a year earlier) I still have some ways to go on my weight loss journey.

AWAK on triple-double holding a single ace at Spirit Mountain Casino in Oregon. One of only 3 times I won 4000 credits in Video poker in over 26 years of playing in Vegas and at locals. I should probably find a new hobby :D

<----- My standard avatar since joining. I loved the Stardust, and it also represents the only period in my Vegas history where I was pretty regularly playing green chip blackjack.

This alternate avatar (that I used for a short while) was suggested by Mike O'... apparently, it's a brand of pears.

This one was used very briefly to tweak my Vegas buddy (who had recently joined VMB)... the story behind it is that, on a particularly good blackjack run at the Stardust one trip, he colored up 5 of his black chips to a $500 brown chip.
I jokingly told him, "Bet it".
He did... was dealt A-6 versus a dealer 6.
I told him to double. He refused. So, I told him to hit. He refused. Dealer ended up busting, and would have still, even if he had doubled.
(I still give him grief about it every time he gets an A-6!)

To me, mine represents Vegas in its heyday, or one of them. Wish I could have experienced it back then. Did not get there the first time til '92, although I wanted to visit sooner.

Family pic of the wife and myself with our kids and grandkids. An Irishman and Apache sure made some beautiful kids and grandkids, if I do say so myself.

Reminds me of the movie “American Splendor” and the Robert Crumb scenes.

@hammie ... BTW, I never saw an alien in your avatar until you wrote that. It always looked like a cocktail. Guess I've spent more time with Tanqueray Sterling than Rod Serling.

Probably because it is Crumb, lol! I'm pretty sure that's one of his characters, Mr. Natural

Haha, there were one or two folks who commented a few years ago that they thought it was an alien......what would Freud say?

For those who give a rat, I still have the Tommy Toilet R. Crumb poster hanging in the loo back home!
