    My Trip Report

So headed out to Caesars Windsor for the weekend.

    Yesterday’s drive there really sucked.
So much traffic trying to get out of Chicago.
This set our timeline a little bit back.

Border crossing was no traffic at the tunnel and no wait at all. Had dinner at an Italian place down the street and had really good veal parm.

We are staying in the Forum tower. River view and a nice enough but not fancy.

Casino itself is nice because it is entirely non smoking. Refreshing to say the least.
Nice offers from them. Lucky envelope for $20. Then FSP for $50 and another FSP for $90 Saturday. $40 in food credits for Sunday.

Exchange from USD at 1.28. nice that the dollar gets more in Canadian funny money.
They take a point or two each time exchanging from usd to cad and back. Wait till you are headed back to change back to US currency and you will save some money.

Played some Ultimate holdem. Up at first by maybe 300 Canadian. Then did some craps which was more or less even.

Towards end of the night, hit a cold run in ultimate and then wandered over to 4 card poker. Brutal to say the least.

Went a little bit on tilt and lost maybe $500.

Headed upstairs and called it a night.

Woke up and did some more ultimate. Down a little- couldn’t get in a groove.

Then walked over to craps. Didn’t like the full table I saw and didn’t like crapless.
Decided to go over to an empty $10 table and throw some.

Turned into some speed craps with only me at the table and didn’t turn out well. Burned through $700. Asked for my rating and they had me at $35. They don’t count odds. Shooting craps at a really fast click is terrible for accumulating points. Do not try at home kids.

Took a break and went upstairs for a little nap.

Went back and hit Ultimate table and got a nice run. It does take some fun out when it isn’t table wins and others got bad beats.
Worked up to $25 trip, ante, and blind bets.
Made $1300 in about 45 minutes.

I’m taking a break and just watching my buddy play blackjack for a bit. The runs and tilt cycle is a little bit draining.

Headed over to Nero’s for dinner.

    Dinner Was yummy!
Tomahawk at 51 Canadian Dollars after 10 percent Total Rewards discount and exchange rate of .76 USD to a Canadian Dollar comes to $34.70

That my friends is an amazing value.

One note- while I accrue reward credits at Canadian dollar rates, I don't think you would want to use reward credits here because they don't adjust them for canadian prices.

    Went back to UTH after.
Hit and run 4 hands for $300.

    Played some double up blackjack.
Interesting concept. on your first 2 cards, say you have 20. Then you can "double up" your stake without taking more cards.
If you beat the dealer, you win the additional bet. If you lose or push, the double up bet loses.
Dealer auto pushes table on any 16 they draw to.

Nice runs when splitting aces for instance against a dealer bust card.

Maybe down 100 in double up after playing for an hour.

Back to even after some spanish 21.

They may be a little stingy at table game tier/reward credits it seems.
Could just be the pit bosses.
Maybe they compensate for gambling with canadian currency.

Headed to bed. Money count at +250 USD for the trip.

One of my only gripes here at Caesars in Windsor is the wireless.

Connection goes in and out in room.
Free wireless network not even available on the casino floor.

They have a 10x rewards credits thing going on today here. I’ll see how much builds up but not chasing.

It is great earning 10x, they do that 4 times a month. You spend in cdn and earn regular rate TCs so you get a boost when you spend them in Vegas.

We are sitting at $1k USD worth by doing this.

We were there Thursday & Friday saw Ringo Starr and his All Star Band Thursday. Gambling wise lost our butts but had fun had been playing on house money for a while. Always eat at Nero’s. Like you our #1 reason for really enjoying our time is the smoke free casino. Hope you had a great time.

I like the free self serve sodas on the casino floor at Windsor.

I also like no W2 Gs in Canada

I like the drinks too. Different than at Horseshoe Hammond. Cranberry juice and ginger ale which is nice.

When/if I get a hand pay I can be glad they don’t issue there. Would be happy even if it is in Canadian funny money.

Even the people gambling there seemed friendlier. Maybe it’s a Canadian thing?

So I never did put in a final update.

Sunday, we did more gambling. Hit a cold run on double up blackjack. Then lost a couple hundred at Slots. Made back a hundred or so at JOB VP.

My friend was into the stadium Blackjack and roulette. Kind of funny- you can be gambling on both at the same time. Put roulette bet in, then switch your screen to blackjack. Make decisions and then go back to roulette. Repeat over and over.

I think he made a couple of hundred Sunday on that. I’ve tried it before but it’s not for me.

We had to get back to Chicago. So by 2:00 I was nagging him to cash out and end his degen fest on stadium gambling. Finally got him to budge at 2:30. We got checked out and on the road by 3:00. Apple maps showed a clean 5 hour drive back.

Then we got to the ambassador bridge. And waited. And waited. And waited.

WTF- is there an accident or something going on? Going into Canada on Friday no traffic at the tunnel and 15 seconds for the guard to look at our passports and let us in.

    2 hours waiting. Brutal.

Finally get to the border processing. The guy chit chats for 30 seconds. And then lets us through. Maybe the tunnel is the way to go? Maybe Sunday afternoon is a bad time to cross?

Stop for dinner in Battle Creek.
    Traffic going into Chicago.
Finally pull in at 11:00 PM.

    Total gambling loss $50.
    Owed $60 for Nero’s.

All in all worth it for a getaway weekend.

Did you play the 8/6 JOB in the high limit area. We usually play those 2 machines quite a bit. We do the tunnel both ways Saturday it took about 25 minutes from paying the toll to getting through customs.
