Has anyone played the $125 nightly bounty or $120 11am daily tourneys at Mirage? How are the structures, play, etc? It seems like at 20 or 25 min levels they may be reasonable.

Getting ready for our annual Vegas trip over the week of Labor Day. I really enjoyed playing at Mirage last year, but their buyins were more in the $70-80 range. I'm a casual player who played a bit online pre-black friday so I'm looking for games that are fairly laid-back and get good value.

If not Mirage, the PH 7pm $80 buy-in may be an option (although, I've read poker at PH can be a bit chaotic) or Bally's 9am or 12pm games.

    Thanks!

The Aria has the best structured daily and nightly tournament. The buy in is $125 with 30 minutes blinds.

For other options I would suggest pokeratlas.com

    Thanks!

I actually found the tournaments listed above on PokerAtlas — great resource! I was hoping someone may have played at mirage recently to get a feel for what the games are like. I’ve read a lot of trip reports with people who like to make the rounds at the daily tournaments.

I’m hesitant to play Aria given that I have read it typically fields a higher level of play. It also seems they typically run for several hours. I’ve found mirage to be great in the past as it has the sweet spot of good value for your money, a mostly relaxed/friendly group, comfortable buy-ins for a casual player, and doesn’t take the whole day if you run well.

I’ve enjoyed the $80 tournaments I’ve done at PH. Also did a $200 40K in a Day during the WSOP up on the mezzanine. Had a good time at all, the main poker room is nice right in the casino. You have the party pit right there during the night time tournaments, great atmosphere.

The PH one was a pretty fast structure. Have not played the others.

PH is pretty typical of a $70 or $80 daily... though not quite as brutal is the structure at the Flamingo. Basically everybody gets to play cards until the break, then the structure seems to go crazy. The best thing to happen is a large field, as there are more chips in play and as people drop out, chances are that the remaining players have enough chips to play good poker for a little while longer.

    Hi

I really enjoyed the Mirage bounty, it had 25 min levels and was very comfortable with good drinks service, I chopped it 3 way however it did only have 20 runners which was a little disappointing (Thanksgiving week last year)

PH is also good fun, but the tournament is fast structured, Mirage is better
