Uh, we may have to respectfully agree to disagree on this!

The current Harrah's is a slapdash makeshift, a so-called casino crammed into what was an underused convention hall when their relatively-spacious three-floor boat was circling the drain. It's TINY and cramped, even by Council Bluffs standards.

Ameristar, on the other hand, has three floors (I guess the more proper term is "decks" in this context) and far more machines that I enjoy playing.

In the case of Council Bluffs, most definitely not! Three other choices. Both Ameristar and Horseshoe are well above the cited #50-out-of-50 on the list! As for Prairie Flower, well, uh, I would have to honestly rank it four out of four, below Harrah's. They are both about equally cramped but Harrah's at least has video poker, Bud Light, and a coat check room.

I got a kick out of some of the pics, too.

Caesars AC has rows and rows and rows of Triple/Double Diamond machines

This one is for the Peppermill Reno. Besides the fact that the Peppermill is about 5 miles south of the location in this photo, this photo has to be close to 20 years old. Dick Clark's American Bandstand (circled right) closed in 1998 and the Virginia St facade of the Flamingo Hilton closed in 1999 or 2000.

    Good point!

Cause if you spend much time around here where the real experts are, you'd swear Main St. Station, Cal and Fremont were the Top 3! :stir:

Seven feathers is my local, and while I enjoy gaming and occasionally staying there, #10?

I've always wanted to visit there, but only make it as far as Three Rivers and The Mill. My BIL won 10K there once on a penny train machine. I read they only have 900 machines, which is not a very big casino.

    Thanks for posting.
This list is a perfect example of why Trip Advisor has no credibility in any category!

I've been to #13 (Casino Del Sol) more times than I could ever have kept count of and there is no place in that Casino where there are rows and rows of GameMaker VP. And does the first machine say "Dcuces Wild" and the one behind it says "Douolu Bobon Poker"? Casino Del Sol is a beautiful casino, but this picture is just plain silly.

Not in my opinion. Deadwood Gulch is a dump compared to numerous other casinos in Deadwood.

I will admit, the rooms are decent, but the pool is the best I have seen for a hotel in Oregon.

Strangest thing, when we think about goin to a big casino, for some reason we haven't put Thackerville Oklahoma in as a top 5 destination... Or Airway Heights Washington, & Canyonville Oregon in as a Top 10.

    Guess we're missing out.

I disagree. TA is useful for comparing apples to apples. If you look at the Las Vegas casinos only, their ratings roughly shake out as you’d expect. But comparing casinos nationwide is not going to work for the obvious reason that a casino which is the only game in town is going to get far better reviews as a “Thing to do” than most of the hundreds of casinos in Las Vegas.

In short, this list is stupid but I like TA.

OMG Northern Quest #9???? Its not even 9th out of 9!!!!! Good grief, if you're going to pick a Washington casino on this list, Snoqualmie is an easy choice. Quest-never.

They may be close on some of the top Vegas hotels.
Unfortunately,I have been checking ratings for years in the U S ,Caribbean,Europe.
The restaurant ratings are usually laughable as are many of the hotel ratings.
There is no weighting for resort Size and location.
Do you really think Deadwood Gulch would finish ahead of the Borgata?
The former is frequented by locals where Borgata and the Vegas casinos are tourists in competitive markets.
Someone cited earlier Trip Advisor had Olive Garden as a top pick.
They have also had Cheesecake Factory in their top 5.
I’m thinking most people would challenge that.

TA restaurant ratings are poor. That’s what Yelp is for.

TA hotel and Things to Do ratings are usually pretty good. Nothing is perfect and nothing can account for your preferences (do you prefer a large resort or a small inn? in the city or the countryside?), but like I said, it is good for comparing similar things. If you look at only 4 star hotels in Times Square or 3 star hotels on Cape Cod or 5 star hotels on Maui, TA will give you a good idea of which ones within that group are most often meeting guests’ expectations.
