Garlic salt is banned from here. Garlic powder. Banished. Love roasted or fresh garlic in butter. Mmmmm.

Making meatballs and pomodoro sauce. Our neighbors just had twins -- that's four now 3 or younger! -- and thought they might like a night off from cooking. Putting together an arugula salad, too, and I'll make some garlic bread. Slip in a bottle of, I don't know, Syrah or Zin; what do newborns prefer? And we'll be eating the same here.

wife made ACS(american chop suey) which had some fresh tomatoes and herbs from the garden added to the sauce and fresh cukes from the garden. nothing like a fresh cuke picked minutes before eating with just salt and pepper.

also we have yellow squash ready for wed or thursday and a passel of yellow beans on the cusp or picking time.

    You mean like this, Richard???

    https://topsecretrecipes.com/romanos-macaroni-grill-penne-rustica-copycat-recipe.html

We have a friend buzzing through on his way north so it is Roadhouse 99 night!! (A ritual for us most weeks.) Absolute hole with about six things on the menu -- including the BEST burgers in the universe and house-made chips -- and a changes-almost-daily rotation of 12 paddles. And it sits right next to the Bates Motel v.2.0 so that adds to the appeal. Bikers, farmers, families, turistas (there were three gals from France there last week out on holiday) ... quite the place!!

I have boneless chicken thighs in a spicy soy soak and will grill those. For the side, udon tossed in miso-cilantro pesto and a chilled tomato-cucumber salad with sesame dressing.

Coconut shrimp for me Panko breaded shrimp for the hubs. Lump crab cakes, and asparagus with lemon dill butter. And, Sweet chili marmalade sauce for the coconut shrimp. My husband thinks coconut shrimp is sacrilegious. All From Chef H-E-B. Getting ready to pop in my small convection oven.

Classic choice. We don't get a lot of that here, and what they do grow they make into pink mostly.

Can you give me recipe for spicy soy marinade or is it just soy with like red pepper flakes? I’m thawing pork chops to grill ( all my meat comes from friends farm and I haven’t had to buy any in over 8 years from a store). It’s so good and fresh. I have 3 freezers fully stocked at all times. I get 400 pounds of beef for $250! 100 #’s of pork for about $75, and chicken is like 99¢ for every 10 pounds. I just pay the Amish to butcher and package and cut thickness I want and amount of pounds per package. It saves us so much money. The animals are given free from friends and you can’t ask for better ones. IrishDave got me hooked on Blue Ribbons honey wasabi and I’m making that to drizzle over pork chops after they are grilled and spicy soy marinade would be perfect on it and maybe even some ribeyes. Thanks Ken!

Lazy last night after a hike and then house chores, so took the shortcut route for dinner with BATAC on crusty sourdough and coleslaw.

    Salade Nicoise tonight.
