I did know it was closing but not the actual date. Anyone know how long the reno is likely to take. We are at Harrahs in October and staying in Valley tower. Wondering if this will have any impact on us?

I noticed this when I booked for the first week of September. But I was having some issues in general and had to get in touch with a Host. I knew renovations were coming and even asked them if they were going to be going on during this time and they didn't seem to think so. But I don't really care, I'm getting a free room. The article is interesting. I didn't make the connection the other day when the guy that does the 4K video vlogs had a video that showed the sign by the elevators and mentioned that the elevators were out of service. Makes sense now. The Valley Tower is really very nice--it's hard to think that those will soon be the "old" rooms.

Diamond check-in is still open I assume?

Good. I really dislike that lobby. Reminds me of a bus station ... echoey, tile floors with luggage being dragged around, people standing around, not always sure where to be, convenience store right there, etc.

Doing the entire tower in maybe 6 weeks? No way will it be done. Also, no idea if they will adjust and open part of it at some point. Normally, remodels are done a few floors at a time. I guess it depends how much work they are doing on rooms. If just carpet and maybe some furniture and paint, then it moves quick. If they start replacing bathrooms, that is another story.

This will be nice when finished. We were there in May, we had a room in the Valley and Mardi Gras tower and the MG room needed some whelp. We were at the Linq last year and they were similar to the Valley tower rooms this year, so the new rooms should be comparable.

I have reservations for Valley Tower in four weeks. Is there noise in the rooms due to the renovation? How tore up is the check-in lobby (any photos?)

I just checked out of Harrah’s today. I had a room on floor 23 of the Valley Tower & didn’t hear any construction. The lobby construction made the check in desk smaller but it wasn’t that bad. I liked what they did with the Valley Tower rooms. I stayed there 5 years ago before the renovations & the room is definitely improved!

Glad they are finally doing this. Do we know how long the entire renovation will take?
