I'm all over the place. Uber/Lyft is generally my go to, but sometimes it gets a bit weird. Had some real oddball drivers, including one who asked me if I was a pathological liar because I didn't want him longhauling me to Luxor. He claimed it would be better because of construction on Tropicana. There was a 45 second delay. Also had tremendous drivers, including one who had an LED display on the dashboard welcoming me by name.

When it works out the WAX or CX bus are great options if you are south or north strip, along with downtown.

I just don't want to take a cab from the airport because of all the reports of longhauling, but I've never had an issue taking a cab back from the hotel to the airport. I assume the scam artists just go back to the airport to longhaul another newb.

Well we have just taken a Presidential limo and we’re very pleased. Raymond met us at the carousel corralled the luggage and had us on our way very quickly
Loved the service and it will be a Vegas tradition for us from now on.

We have done taxi, shuttle, and last year decided to get a limo to surprise wives. Guess which mode of travel they want this year? Guess which mode of travel we guys will get them?
As for the shared limo for just the two of us, the rate to the Orleans is the higher rate of $41 each plus fees RT, so over $100. We will either do taxi or ride share or combo of both.

    Uber/Lyft.

Limos are nice too, but not necessary every trip.

For day time arrivals, if the timing works out, I'll take the WAX bus. Otherwise I'll just Uber.

If I fly in at night/after work hours, my friend who's a local will usually swing by to pick me up.

In my old age, I've learned to really like the Bell 'shared' limo service, especially for downtown stays. So far I've done 2 round trips that way, and haven't once actually done any sharing.

During my last trip, I got a notice from southwest that my flight was delayed. I called bell to try to changed my pick up time for the shared limo. With me being out on the strip, I didn’t have the paperwork with the bell confirmation code. They couldn’t find my reservation by my name with where the pick up was at of Billy’s gambling hall and by the original time it was set to be at. So I took an Uber

That's exactly why I now either take a picture of paperwork of any reservation codes: Hotel, Shuttle or Limo, Airline, etc. Or I at least enter the codes themselves in my "messages" app on my phone. As long as I don't lose or leave my phone behind.

Most times my host will arrange Limo both ways otherwise taxi. Last year the Limo didn't show on the incoming trip and we took a taxi. Probably I'll Lyft or Uber it, if no Limo.

The recent problem with Uber/Lyft is that there are so many new drivers who slavishly follow the GPS and don't actually know where they're going. It recently took me almost an hour to get from LAS to Aria because there was construction on Las Vegas Boulevard that the driver refused to acknowledge, despite my trying to give him very specific (and faster) directions.

FYI for those who use the Bell Ride Share....I just booked for My September trip and the price went up. They must have caught on that it was a bargain. In May I paid $30 round trip and I just booked again for $36. Still on the strip so I was a little surprised. Still a deal to me. I don't have to schelp my luggage far and I'm guaranteed a nicer car and help with the luggage. Lyft/Uber sometimes won't touch the luggage. I pack heavy and would rather someone else put it in their car. If I scratch it with the wheels we both would be unhappy.

I know I'm Odd Girl Out here, but I don't think of taking a limo from the airport to the hotel to be in any way relaxing or enjoyable! Having a nice soft comfortable ride, sipping a glass of wine or whatever, and then being blasted back to reality schlepping the bag(s) in, waiting on line at the desk, checking the room to be sure things work, unpacking, I would much rather relax AFTER getting all of that busy work done and over with!

Now, the limo things I've enjoyed a couple of times, but we haven't done it for quite a while, is just to hire a limo (you can phone them or the doorkeeper will get you one), loading it with enough adult beverages to pollute the East River, and telling the driver to "Do the Strip" and such. Go see and be seen! Get pleasantly gooned in the process. Go to photo ops such as the Welcome To LV sign or a trashy no-tell motel! :)

Can't believe we did this, but we took a taxi last Thurs from the airport due to the 40 min wait time for ride share. Whelp, I was quickly reminded why I stopped. Immediately told the driver not to take tunnel. He mumbled something and I told him again, don't take the tunnel. He aimed his car for the tunnel exit (we're coming from T3) and at the last second veered to the regular street exit. Started declaring he didn't know which way to go because of construction. So he long hauled us by explicitly missing left turn arrows at intersections, making us wait extra light cycles. Observed him do this 3 times. Oh, and he also had a personal convo on his cell through his car's speaker. Sigh. SMH.

Yep, Mr. Saint Paul Jeff. Your story is very similar to my final taxi ride from McCarran to Downtown.

I switched to the WAX and never looked back. I’m certain that I have taken the WAX back and forth 20 times since that last long haul.

Since the WAX fare is only $2 (I pay $1 as a senior), I am not exaggerating when I say that I have saved hundreds of dollars.

Perhaps just as important, I have never had a scary ride or a rude driver.

    So that is one option.

We always use a taxi as the closest for my mum, last visit was to Mirage, rude taxi driver, drove in a fast aggressive manner, got real snotty when I said the most direct route and then told me to F*** off when he dropped the case as he thought the tip wasn't enough. was so shocked didn't think to get his license plate, may encourage ma to walk over to the uber pick up next month.

Everything but #7, although my lower back can be a bitch at times. #4 is the main reason, I can't STAND waiting for someone else to get me where I want to go. I love the freedom of going where I want when I want, and I'm getting pretty good at avoiding the busy streets using back roads and shortcuts. I get to Vegas 2-3 times a year, and every year I pick a new section of town or a few new casinos to explore to keep it fresh. My fall trip will be doing a night in Laughlin at Harrah's for our 30th anniversary dinner at The Range Steakhouse. (Thanks for the review, Notfromconcentrate!) Also a North Las Vegas casino run is on the agenda, the cheesier the better.
