This just came in from SLS, and I guess for the moment it is still SLS ...

I guess they are realizing that resort fees are a major turn-off!

And that poses the question, who will follow if this works out to their advantage? No it is not center strip but if they use a no resort fee program right they may take some business from the larger properties and that may force some hands. Oh who am I kidding nobody is going to turn away easy money.

It's hard to find rooms without resort fees now adays. With places charging for parking now too, nickel and diming is the new norm.

Guess I missed it, though I do see that they have half off resort fees for the Grand Tower. I didn't know they had more than one.

That was, until recently, known as the "W" hotel-within-a-hotel. On my first trip there, I saw the white "W" sign and instinctively went to it when I needed to use the restroom.

It used to be the Alexandria Tower of the old Sahara.

The Sahara had three towers, the Tunis, the Alexandria, and the Tangiers. They are now the Story, the Grand, and the World.

I wonder if they will rename them back when the Great Renaming happens?

Nice to see they’re making an effort. I’m looking forward to the return of the Sahara. I hope the no RF works out.

It would be so awesome if they got their old names back. We have a lot of memories staying in the Tangiers tower.

Too far from the action! The Palms give me a TON of comped nights (no resort fees). I can't justify staying off Fremont or the Strip.

Looks like it doesn't matter. When I saw that promotion on the front page, it said you could book through the 18th. When I clicked through, it told me that the 17th was the last date to book.

I was intending to look and see if they could beat the prices we have at Bally's. Looks like their marketing people and their web people need to get their you-know-what together.

Last time I checked the SLS is on the Strip - right onLas Vegas Blvd and Palms is on the other side of the Interstate. :ssst:

That's Vegas-speak for "Just one block from the Strip!"

I mean, yes, you're correct but it's far from the action. I don't see myself walking to other casinos from there. The monorail is right there, so that helps.
