Sooo, I did the tier match in 2017. You can't do it the next year. (2018)

In 2017 it was for everyone I believe. Do you need an email in 2019 or is it for everyone that is eligible with a competitors tier program? (Platinum mlife. Etc.)

Wd might go to Tahoe for the first time over Thanksgiving, so it would be worth a walk to a CET property if eligible. I get so many CET emails I don't know if I really ceived one, as I usually delete many. :(

Update: never mind, found a great post from Emmas on another thread, looks like I should be safe since I didn't match in 2018

The best thing to do here is to match your Caesar's status to Wyndham when you get it. Then you just match back and forth every year.

You are fine. Don't forget you have a reduced Tier Credit requirement to extend your diamond match to Jan 2021. If you match in Nov only need 2500 TC's to extend.

The only problem you may have is that it won't kick in right away when you are there. I thought I remember some people reporting something about not getting it until they hit their coded home CET property. Not really sure about this though.

Thank you so much Mike, this is a great tip, not just for me, but for many on here, thank you!

Hi @Patman another great post. This is actually for a November trip to Tahoe, we won't be staying at CET this trip.so it'll have time to kick in.

I am groaning over the extended match, as it sounds great, but we need it for November, so I have to bite the bullet this trip to have time for it to kick in.

Plus, it gives me an excuse to day play once this trip at CET, which is a treat, as I normally only let myself play at night!:love::love:

This sounds like a great idea to me, however I'm not sure how it would work. Reading the fine print on Wyndham's status match page indicates status matching through Caesars will last you through to the end of the year. Doesn't the Caesars matching only last til the end of the year as well? Once the year ends wouldn't they both go back to 0?

Nope you have A window of A month in january to match your caesar diamond back to Wyndham. And then in feb you can match your Wyndham status back to caesar diamond. At least this was possible in the past

Oh thats right Diamond CET lasts until January 31st. That's amazing that such a "loophole" exists, i'll be testing it out come next January.

Mike, could you explain how you get Wyndham Diamond, is it possible with their credit card ?
If so, best way to get upgraded, I only have their Platinum card

Here is a link to the program:
    https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/wyndham-rewards/status-match

Here is the list of statuses that Wyndham will match to Diamond:
    • Marriott Rewards:
      • Gold
      • Platinum
      • Platinum Premier
      • Platinum Premier with Ambassador
    • Hilton Honors
      • Gold
      • Diamond
    • Choice Privileges
      • Diamond
    • Best Western
      • Diamond Select
    • World of Hyatt
      • Globalist
    • IHG Rewards Club
      • Platinum
      • Spire
    • Radisson Rewards
      • Gold
      • Platinum
    • Omni Select Guest
      • Black
The easiest way to attain one of these statuses is by getting a credit card. IHG offers their Platinum Elite status with their credit card. They will only match your status for 90 days, so during that period, you just have to match it to Caesar's Diamond - which lasts all year. You can then match your Caesar's Diamond back to Wyndham Diamond again after 90 days.

It looks like if you do it in one year, you can't do it the next. Is this correct? Seems to be conflicting information out there.

If you know your "dominant" CET property, it is probably best to match through them.

I did the match at Horseshoe Hammond, which is local to me, while Cromwell is my dominant property.

HH had to run everything through Cromwell and it did take about 2 weeks. I wasn't in a big hurry because my Vegas trip was a month away. Eventually, I did show up as Diamond on the website. In Vegas I stopped by the Cromwell desk and picked up my shiny new Diamond cards and was told my $100 Celebration Dinner (the only perk I really cared about) was all ready to go.

The next day my group went to the Harrahs buffet to use the $100. The lady couldn't find it on my account and suggested I try the club desk. The desk said that my account was blocked, but couldn't tell me why. They would call me when they figured it out. I never heard back. I tried the Cromwell and PH desk - same thing. I never got my dinner.

After many calls and emails, they finally told me I was blocked because I was overcomped. How? Who knows. I never recieved a meal or room comp from CET ever. And I always gave the Cromwell some play in Vegas. I did hit and run a HH free-play offer a time or two.

They eventually unblocked my account and was able to use the $100 on my next trip. Free parking was a nice perk too.

Something tells me most of the hassle could have been avoided if I matched through the Cromwell in the first place.

@mikel123 can you explain to me,too? In Jan 2019, I matched My Hilton Gold—> Wyndham Diamond—> CET Diamond.

    My diamond card expires 1/31/20.

How the HECK do I get past the whole “can’t status match the following year.”

    Thanks in advance.

The T&C's for the last 2-3 years dictates that members that previously matched are are not eligible to match again. However, I personally know people who have been matching every year without issue and seen data points of people matching again even though they have done it in previous year(s). So YMMV.

*22. Participants that had their Caesars Rewards accounts upgraded in 2018 will not eligible for this offer.

They are actually referring to status matches - meaning coming from a competitor (MGM or another casino company's loyalty program). Wyndham and Caesar's are partners, so those T&Cs don't apply to that since it's not a 'traditional' match. Another example of this is MGM and Hyatt. As long as you hold status with one program, they will give you status in the other - no questions asked.

Agree, that's what I'm saying. Just pointing it out since the OP and several other posts mentioning and asking about tier matches from competitors and not within the partnership.

Can the CET - Wyndham match be done online or must be done at the property?
