I've been waiting to book my fall trip, waiting on Cosmo comp calendar. Last night I couldn't stand it any more, and I decided to book for the end of September rather than wait for October. October prices on SWA also seem to be higher, so that's another reason.

The Cosmo comp offers that I get are pretty sparse and far between. Many months have just one night sprinkled here and there, but for September there were two nights together, September 25 and 26. My plan was to use those two and add my free Sterling night on the day before - a Tuesday - and figured that shouldn't be a problem. I don't know what is going on that night, but the price for a Terrace Studio was between $400 and 500, and she said that night is not eligible for a comp use. Poooo. The night after my 2 was a Friday so that's out too.

I went ahead and booked the two, but really wanted three nights all together. I think I'm going to see what comes out for me for October. If it looks better, I can change but I'm still bummed.

So now that you've read this long convoluted story, my question is, I assume that everyone's comp calendar looks different depending on play? Just like my offers at CET may be better or worse than someone else's. I just made Sterling, so I'm a little fish, but I'm just bummed. I loved the Terrace suites when we stayed there in April and am really looking forward to spending a little longer than 2 nights. I would have paid for a night, but not at $500.

Oh, well, as they say, my First World problems don't amount to much.

Hey Astribling! I will be there on the same dates with comp nights. I am a Sterling tier holder and I probably got the same offer dates as you. I would have loved to have stayed longer, but I will be going with my in-laws for this trip and I think they can only handle 3 day-2 nights in Vegas!

@Astribling, it might be a long shot, but you might give them a call and see if they can add the identity night, even if greyed out. Yes. They might say no, but we have had them add nights where it looked like nothing was available. Worst they'd say is no!

Ya I actually did that already. She said there was some large group that night and they weren't taking comps. At least not lowly ones like me. Lol. Although she didn't say that!

At cosmo I usually play vp or slots. Their table limits are sometimes higher than I like.

You can probably find me at Chandelier playing vp and drinking lemon drops! :drunk:

Dang it, I am so sorry. Yes, they can have some crazy busy conventions.

Well, my mantrsla is it is better to ask and hear no, versus not ask and hear it would have been OK.

I know youll still make it a fabulous trip Astribling, and I hope you do another TR, your last one was great!

I have the exact same problem, though I was offered the 24th at 270. Been looking around at other hotels in the area, and they are all fairly pricey (for what you get) at that time also.
The thing I find strange is that the convention that is held at Cosmo covers all 3 of those dates, yet we can get the 25fh and 26th comped.
Going to keep an eye out in case rates come down. Also considering changing to Oct, as I haven't booked flights yet.
Otherwise I might see you at Chandelier, probably drinking a Manhatten

That is strange! Do you happen to know what conference it is? If it's all 3 of those dates, then the casino might be pretty busy even if it is a weeknight. I'm leaving my options open until I see what's available in October.

Edited to add: I checked the Vegas conventione calendar and don't see anything for those dates.

Sounds like several of you got the same answer, but I was denied my gold companion nights on an upcoming trip for one of the requested nights when I made my comp reservation as they said they were blocked. Called back the next day to just book the one night the agent said I could have the day before, and this agent got me the night that was blocked too. Not sure if the occupancy forecast suddenly changed overnight, or if that agent decided to force it through to help me out, but it was a great surprise.

If it’s the result of a convention, try calling them back just inside 30 days out. That’s usually when hotels adjust the room block for groups, so if they don’t use as many as initially blocked they might allow use of the comps again.

So both of you guys received offers thru september? I think i need to follow up with cosmo. They had me and a group i go down with on the same offers for the longest time. We all gamble the same amount. For some reason, they kept receiving comp room offers, and i dropped off. Only difference is that i booked a stay (This saturday thru tuesday) and they didn't. Going to have to talk to someone about that. I'm sterling as well with you guys, and will easily hit the 4k required to maintain it this trip.

I agree, once you're inside a month away, give it a shot once a week.

Just like anywhere else, your play level determines how much comp value they'll allot you for a room for either a trip or a night - if the price spikes for a given night, you can get priced out.

I got the teaser offer from them after my stay in 2018, but they pulled it after one cycle, and I've just had the 20% 25% off ones ever since last autumn.

I e-mailed Kevin about matching my 3 nights Bellagio/Aria & $75FP / 50-100 F&B, and he said to contact him around easter as nothing to do that far out.

I just got a 2 night comp offer. Low roll (less then 200 last trip) at Cosmo as they don't match my Diamond from CET. Never stayed there. The sprinkled dates they offer me don't really help me either.
Aug/Sept/Oct about 50% of the calendar dates are blacked out... and many dates can only book 1 night and not 2 consecutive nights as the offer states....
For the resort fee it may be worth it to check it out as I am probably staying at PH or Cromwell for a week.

When I booked my free night, they were able to use it for the most expensive night of my trip (Saturday night). The woman on the phone did tell me they were limited on how many free nights they could book so my booking early probably helped.
So it seems like it would be worth while to keep checking back... if someone cancels their trip or a opening on the room block.

Good luck! I cant wait to see your TR pictures!

Thanks Erica! I've been checking once in a while. The October offer should be out soon, so I'll check that too and just do the best I can! I can't wait!
